I really don't think sims should come out bi yearly .
Have one and then update it with DLC and expansion .
After a year or two bring a GOTY edition with all the DD content .

yes. ALso shouldn't be released too early into each gen, since technically there's a lot to explore and adding DLC is great but game can look obsolete , visually, quite soon.

Guess trying to launch it before FIFA was a bad idea. To be fair, it doesn´t help that the squads are still not updated for this season and it will probably take another week or so until they release the update.

Those PES sales are likely within expectations. It probably doesn't cost them much to tweak every year and hell, they don't even hire anyone to update the rosters before launch.

Sim racing glory days is over, I guess it won't sell as much as GT5.

probably will be lower than GT5 but higher than GT6.
These kind of games are slow burners though so will end selling a decent number albeit at a discounted price or bundled.

depends on what they were last year in the UK... UK is low market for PES, since there are no licenses... Spain, Italy, France, thats where it should be at.... and pretty much everything else but UK and Germany.

Already has bundles.

They need some cheaper bundles. The 1tb custom Forza XBO is £350-370. The standard price since 2014 until recently for those that don't know is around £250 for the 500gb with a game, sometimes cheaper

The standard 1tb model is too expensive as well. I think MS need to stop trying to inflate the 1tb model. 1tb is £54 more expensive yet the difference in actual HDD cost is around £5.

I was just trying to search for some numbers as I read this! But you're right, other places will be key rather than the UK.

For comparison, this is the closest I could find for numbers for PES 15 Week 1

01 (01) CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 182,160 / 974,160 (-77%)
02 (NE) ASSASSIN'S CREED: UNITY (UBISOFT) - 166,000 / NEW
03 (NE) HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION (MICROSOFT)
04 (02) FIFA 15 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 66,677 / 1,882,751 (+2%)
05 (NE) LEGO BATMAN 3: BEYOND GOTHAM (WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE)
06 (NE) ASSASSIN'S CREED: ROGUE (UBISOFT)
07 (06) MINECRAFT: PLAYSTATION EDITION (SONY COMPUTER ENT.)
08 (NE) PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2015 (KONAMI)
09 (NE) WORLD OF WARCRAFT: WARLORDS OF DRAENOR (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD)
10 (05) DESTINY (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD)

Worth noting that it totally dropped out of the Top 40 individual formats the week after.

Sims were never really that big to tell the truth.
When GT 7 comes out we will have a better idea of what happening.

GT was very big (GT5 + Prolog sold like 15 million units), it's always been by far the biggest seller though, so it could hide or cover that most others in the genre don't sell crazy well.

Out of all the genres in gaming (barring a few massive hitters - COD, FIFA, GTA Etc), racing games seem to have the most legs.

I would imagine FM6 will have good legs in the charts and will also be heavily bundles as a way to entice new buyers into Xbox.

so about the same volume but in much lower week... it should be good for long term sales.

I expect worldwide to increase this year due to great reviews...

Thanks for the numbers Bruno. I know Forza games sell poorly, but I honestly thought Forza 6 would do better in the UK. I wonder if the Top Gear affiliation is just completely ineffective at this point.

GT6 is a weird one. I've bought every GT except GT6, it felt more like a re-release of 5 or an anniversary edition with some clean up. Is that how millions more seen it?

I reckon GT7 will be up there with the other GT games but maybe the genre is a bit stale and fallen off a bit, only time will tell. GT7 could land at a great time as right now we may just be in driving game fatigue. I also think GT7 will have to have some impressive graphics.

GT7 as first entry on PS4 should sell like hotcakes.

Doubtful. Last year the game released 2 months after FIFA, there was some FIFA fatigue by some players at that time which made them also get PES. It´s true that PES had great reviews this year but last years reviews were also good and in all around the web you can see people complaining of weak GKs, terrible referees, laggy online matches and out of date squads.

GT6 is a weird one. I've bought every GT except GT6, it felt more like a re-release of 5 or an anniversary edition with some clean up. Is that how millions more seen it?

I think open world racer will still good, but i guess we will have to see upcoming NFS launch numbers.

It could, but how many would you honestly attribute to that #. I just did a clean lap because I hadn't raced that track since day 1 with all assist on, and did a clean lap and am now ranked 4535 and in the top 1%. So that's at least 448,965 accounts that have played the game. So even if you want to say 48,000 are on a shared account its still over 400k.

Impossible to say and for that reason we can't take the numbers from there as anywhere close to accurate for even an estimation of it's WW sales.

I've always been under the impression that Forza has never really been an especially popular series sales wise with the past few entries seemingly being heavily bundle reliant in order to reach the bigger numbers they eventually got to. I'd imagine it'll be a similar story with the new one, but even so... mainline entry debuting lower than spin off? Could be franchise fatigue due to annual release schedule for the brand I guess, but even so... not a good look.

Or maybe people are just sick of corridor racers ;)

Someone I talked to on Twitter is convinced GT7 will sell 10 million copies. I'm not joking.

First GT on PS4 and with how Europe loves the PS4 and with other territories in Asia getting in on the action compared to the PS3 days, I don't see why GT7 can't do 10 million.

I think it will decline in Japan and the US compared to GT5 but the other countries should pick up the slack.

Until Dawn loosing steam. Look like Word of Mouth is not helping much or there is not much Word of Mouth for it.

Forza 6 is sitting at <400,000 a week after release its doing just fine.

I got that number by checking the Rio track for the S class leader boards(anyone who plays the game with an online connection will post a time). I'm currently ranked 135,000 and in the top 32% of scores.

Everyone loves overacting in sales threads.
Pretty much
