Last racing game (minus Mario Kart) to debut in the top 10 was Forza 4 in 2011.

Since 2013
Gran Turismo 6 nope (on a system with 30 million US install base dec. 2013)
Forza 5 nope
Forza Horizon 2 nope
Driveclub nope
Project Cars nope (and it was multiplatform)

ew, looks like everyone should go mascot racer then.

So if XB1 had higher TTK sales than PS4 because bundles didn't count, and the consoles combined sold 550k, then TTK sold more on PS4 by a fairly small margin.

Even if you suppose 350k of those combined sales were TTK+PS4 bundles, if that's enough to make the sales higher on PS4, then we're talking about a gap of <300k, conservatively. It's kinda crazy when you consider how much smaller the install base is for XB1.

You make it sound like the attach rate is 100%. The install difference isn't that large either.

Not actually that important
Forza Bomba Sei.

:(

Also, MGSV sold 750k on Steam alone? Holy cow that's more than Mediacreate's Ps3+PS4 LTD.
Pazzo Max getting close to half a million copies on Valve's platform is also astonishing, man WB sure knows how to do them's homework, tho to be fair it did have crazy deals pretty much everywhere for as low as $23, dropping cheaper as release started getting closer (so maybe preorder numbers weren't that good).

I hope we get some words out for Metallo Gear Cinque's debut numbers. Anyone remembers what were MGS4's (including bundles)? Close to 850k iirc or am I way off? I don't have the raw data easily accessibile right now.

That's pretty surprising. For some reason I thought Forza 5, Horizon 2 and GT6 all charted. Disappointing if it's true they didn't.

edit:
nvm, don't feel like arguing nintendo numbers

GT7 will top it imo. At least in terms of eventual global figures anyway.

How much are we expecting generally for GT worldwide?
I know it's an NPD thread but nothing else is going on...

That's a great start for Mario Maker considering the install base, but likewise it's disappointing that MGSV didn't do more.
With all the controversy about I'm surprised it did as well as it did tbh.

Doubt it.

Globally is another story.
Mario kart 8 should end at 8 million, Gran Turismo can be 10 million.
We will see.
You really think GT7 won't outsell Forza? Forza's a bit of a low bar to clear regarding sales tbh. I mean yeah it's made a great base for itself and it's a solid second, but it's also a distant second sales-wise to GT.

Notwithstanding GT6, of course.

Or do you mean just in the US? 'Cuz imo GT7 will outsell it even here.

He means MK8>GT7 in the US, which I think sounds right, or at least it will be close.

It is interesting to see Xbone sales consistently higher when it comes to Destiny. Yeah I know hardware bundles account for some but does it really surpass xbone total sales? I wonder if Activision will ever spill the beans.

Forza 2 6th place with 217k - 29th of May
Forza 3 8th place with 175k - 27th of October
Forza 4 8th place - 11th of October

Forza 6 didn't chart
Forza 6 launches on the 15th of September

Obviously the install base for Xbox One is lower than in 2009/11 for 360 and the fact that Forza 6 is the third Forza game out on the system in 2 years. Also I'd be inclined to look at the total sales of these game combined and I'm sure its doing well and adding something to Xbox purchases.

Easy to explain. More shooter fans on the Xbox hardware as usual. It's the system where the top games are Halo and Gears and used to be home of Call of Duty and such. So no surprise a shooter like Destiny would still sell high on it

Will be the same with COD no doubt
