Wait, how in the world are they gonna give out CPT points for the Costa Rica event with a 10-person final bracket?
Just tuned in, my boy Brian eliminated Dieminion? Gs to him
Had a really close match with Snake Eyez too
Itazan in winners final for costa rica.
Rog will have to win Kakoroto in order to advance. If does and wins Itazan, he's pretty much in Capcom Cup.
I don't think smug has a chance... Even if he goes to Canada Cup he needs a top 2. With all the competition it doesn't look like he can achieve that.
Milan results are good for Smug. If he manages to take DtN he'll totally be at Capcom Cup, but he has to do it.
We already have some confirmations for Canada Cup. Asian players in attendance:
Momochi
Bonchan
Kitasenju
Hagejin
Misse
Fuudo
Xian
Gamerbee
Mago
Kazunoko
MOV
Gonzalez
Akira
AO3
Domo
Markman has written in rKappa that Tokido it's a Maybe.
Small room for americans to take points at this event imo...
I'm posting this back. I'm sorry for Smug, but with just a week there's not many room for improvement...
If he goes, he better do it with a "have fun" mentality.
Canada Cup is going to be insane

Smug would go 0/2 with all the Elenas at Capcup anyway

Shit, got my work cut out for me for next week thread. So much good info for Canada Cup.We gonna put in that work on Friday?
We gonna put in that work on Friday?
Yeah, do we reg for team tournament on the spot? And any idea what time we should be there for?
Team EG is making him focus on Ultra until Capcom Cup. And only Ultra.LTTP but did Justin enter the Marvel tournament at DTB? Don't see him on the top 8 list.
Why's that dude dodging so hard?

This GF is looking like a 6-0 bus ass.
Does Rog even need to travel if he wins the ranking event?
Spoke too soon!I just tuned back in and Justin is on match point? lol
Edit: It's always interesting watching Justin play other characters in tournaments, he gets crazy mileage off simple buttons and fundamentals.
Most Marvel, Smash, and Guilty Gear players stick to their characters.
Abundant counterpicking is a sign of poor game balance. Some counterpicking is nigh impossible to avoid, but it shouldn't be rampant enough that the game is RPS.
I just don't understand why Justin's finally using new characters when it's the last year for the game competitively. Some players will probably stick to SF4 or play two games, but I doubt Justin will be one of them.
Could've just slummed it with Rufus for another year before being a top SF5 player
They counter pick all the time in Smash 4 as well. Most Marvel, Smash, and Guilty Gear players arent playing for 100k at Capcom Cup.
Edit: and Smash is a terrible example, in Melee they counterpick all the time.

When you only run 2/3 sets, one counter pick is typically all you need.No they don't (in both Melee and Smash 4), typically only one person pulls out a counterpick and the set doesn't devolve into a counterpick war.

Lots of people have secondaries, but having a secondary for bad matchups isn't the same as counterpicking.Smash in particular has some extremely bad matchups.
People are just lazy.
Marvel is not comparable to 1v1 fighters.
Guilty Gear doesnt have a lot of counterpicking admittedly, but its very difficult to play more than one character at a high level in that game.
Depends. In Japan, only Final Destination is legal for Melee, I hear. It's part of why Sakurai thought the competitive community would be happy with FD-ized stages. But smash has stage counterpicks
