Note: If you have an interest in discussing the Fighting Game Community, consider joining the Fighting Game Community thread where we try to talk about what is happening in the FGC.

As always, if you see an infographic for a FGC tournament, it was likely made by acekingoffsuit. The guy makes stream schedules for every major tournament and he does it for free. You can find his twitter account here: https://twitter.com/acekingoffsuit

Also, Malice215's FGC Calendar was used to help get more information on tournaments. Malice215 (also a gaffer) spends much of his free time maintaining the FGC Calendar His twitter is also here: https://twitter.com/fgccalendar

A lot of points for grab coming up these coming weeks. 128 for first place winner alone at Defend the North. I hope notable US players like Sabin, Smug and Rog show up and do well.

Thanks for the thread as always, Tripon.

Daigo pretty much gave away that last game because he did wake up DP twice after being up a round and having a huge lead in the 2nd. Should have just played it safe. He's still in the lead though since their were other upsets today like Bonchan losing as well.

He just needs to get in top 4. He has a lot of tough matches left.

You could probably start the first post with the graphics for the main tournaments, and include more detailed information in the second post. It would be nice if this site used collapsible spoiler tags, but most people just need to know what's big that's going on and where to find it, and the finer details later.

I used to write professionally, so it's good to see acekingoffsuit going eSports. Daily Dot is doing some good things.

Holy shit what? How is this even a Premiere event? Serious question.

I'm actually surprised that Problem X went to Defend the North instead of Milan Games Week.

Let's see if the move pays off. Costa Rica probably too much money. Costa Rica it's a great chance for PR Rog with just Stider and Itabashi as know players. Can Costa Rica and some other latinos in attendance be a threat for those 3?

Yeah him not attending Milan just increased the chances of a player not in the top 32 to get the premier spot.

Noted. I'll start doing that next week.

It seems like they gave it to this event mainly because it takes place at a big trade show like TGS(I think). I don't think they expected attendance to be this small though. I'm surprised it hasn't hit the cap yet either. I guess European pot monsters have thrown in the towel to Louffy and the Japanese in attendance.

If Smug wins he'll probably get in to the Capcom Cup due to points?

I think he will if he wins. 180 should be more than enough to safely be in. If he went 2nd at DTN, a 4th place finish at Canada Cup might be enough if he goes there. That would give him a total of 148 points and that might be enough to get in on points alone.

Hope rog is able to get a good result in Costa Rica. If he does he should qualify for Capcom cup.

Has Smug said if he would even go if he got in? I know he's got school stuff. I feel like I haven't seen much of him for a while now, I guess I assumed he was focusing on that.

I hope so, even if he's just gonna get bodied by the Elena army.

How is Problem X going to both Defend the North and Milan Games Week?

He's not. He made the pre registration for Milan Games Week, but he decided to attend DtN. No Milan for him (And UM Tyrant).

Btw. Best pool at DtN it's Pool C4 with Ricky Ortiz, Hiro and Shine

I think he will if he wins. 180 should be more than enough to safely be in.

He'll obviously be on a better spot. But still Canada Cup left. Most likely be filled with killers, so the gate keep it's going to be real. But we still have to count that.

If he manage to take defend the Nort he'll scale to 23th. But there are many players from that range and beyond attending tournaments:

Justin Wong - 178 (DtN)
Shiro - 178 (Milan)
Problem X - 176 (DtN)
801 Strider - 174 (Costa Rica)
Itabashi Zangief - 156 (Costa Rica)
Valmaster - 146 (Milan)
Haitani - 129 (Milan)
PR- Balrog - 100 (Costa Rica)

Let's say that Itabashi reaches top 3 at Costa Rica, Strider makes top 8 and PR Rog takes the win (They're all possible)
Then Justin makes Top 8 and Problem X top 6 at DtN (Also posible).
And at Italy, Kindevu wins the premier spot, Haitani gets 2nd, Valmaster 3rd and Shiro makes top 13. (This combination it's the hardest).
That scenario will leave Smug placing the 32th.

This it's the most important weekend in order lock your spot in CPT. Canada Cup it's going to be a gate keep bloodfest. Pretty sure that Infiltration and all the Topanga players (Except Tan and Uryo) will be there. Maybe Xian too. And I'll totally can see Xiao Hai and Humanbomb attending. Plus probably some Americans (Snake Eyez, Dieminion, Strider, Nuckledu).
It's going to be hard for any of those players fighting to get into CPT to take a big amount of points

Less than 1 hour to get started.

Man this seems like the angriest Fuudo's ever been lol. He didn't show anything emotionally, but it seemed like it through his gameplay. This Elena player was wrecking Fuudo with random mid screen overheads, mid screen slides, and wake up DP. After losing the first game Fuudo was mashing start button to go straight into the next match without even a second to think about counter picking at all. He seemed pretty happy after winning though.
