Remember how I said the eyes of a Pokemon can ruin the design for me? Yeah...here's example #1! I actually have a love/hate relationship with him though.
I'm similar in that the eyes of a Pokemon usually makes or breaks how much I like them, but probably for different reasons. I generally dislike Pokemon that don't have 'expressive' eyes. Beartic falls into this, and it's also the main reason why I dislike a lot of bug Pokemon, because most of them have compound eyes. Hydreigon is another notable case of this for me.

But the bottom screen is used to well in Gen VI unless you don't have friends or play online then otherwise it's obvious why it's completely useless for you.
Yeah, no, I don't do any battling in Pokemon. Never got into it. All the multiplayer junk on the bottom screen does nothing for me. I only trade with friends. I'd much rather have the bottom screen full of useful gameplay information.

Try the new Mystery Dungeon coming? It's got all the Pokemon and is a somewhat "simpler" experience without the fluff you probably don't like. But it's a dungeon-crawler, so you might not be a fan.

Oddly enough I love dungeon crawlers and roguelikes, but I've tried so many times to get into the Mystery Dungeon games and I can't. No good reason why.

I love the PSS, but I do hope that Z brings back all of the tools from the Poketch, in the same way ORAS added the DexNav. It wouldn't be hard to make them all an option.

I don't like Avalugg's design at all--someone might be able to make him look good in fanart, but his 3D model looks terrible; however, I do enjoy Beartic's.

but aren't Magnemite presented to be more like electomagnets? Hence why I think Magnezone represents the power increase better.
Missed this before, but eh - I think that Magnemite and Magneton are based on 'magnets' in the broadest sense. Like most Pokemon, they don't just take influence from one specific thing.

Yeah, I loved Bergmite when I first saw it, and was hoping Avalugg would be more like an Iceberg-Rhino type thing. I think I'd like it a lot better if its torso was flipped upside down. :p

I mean, IIRC in X/Y the bottom screen even has an online and offline mode that you needed to enable anyways. Why can't the offline mode just have some useful, modernized Poketch functionality? I loved all that stuff, like the map, step-counter, et al, and those Poketch apps were primitive compared to what they could be... But nope. Gotta put some local player search bullshit on there that nobody in the US uses outside of gaming conventions.

Avalugg's greatness is hard to be seen in the games.

Easily, it is a dinosaur iceberg fucking carrier viking ship, it's supposed to be fucking huge and there's a concept art of Wulfric riding it like some viking chief

Offtopic, i'd really love to see Pulseman in a Pokemon game in some way, shape of form (an easter egg maybe?) since he's essentially Game Freak's property, but it probably won't happen because Sega obviously holds a percentage of it's license.

Rotom is based off Pulseman.

Maybe the Pawniard line?

Those are just references and most of them are based solely on fan speculation. I'm talking about a legit Pulseman easter egg, actual pokemon or anything related but i guess that's just wishful thinking.

I dunno, Pikachu getting Pulseman's signature attack seems like a legit enough easter egg to me.

Most of the Kanto water types are great imo.

Seel, Dewgong and Seaking are literally the only ones I dislike.

Golduck and Seadra are fantastic!

Plus Slowbro, Cloyster, Lapras and Vaporeon.
Kingdra's cool, but Seadra's just kinda boring.

I do love Cloyster, Lapras, and Slowbro. It's just that there tend to be a lot of Water types every generation I find really boring. Like Gen 2 has some cool Water types like Octillery and Chinchou, but I find Corsola, Quilfish, and Mantine unbelievably meh.

My main issue with gen 2 is how few new evolution lines there are in it. Outside of starters there's only like 10 new Pokemon that evolve and some of those are after the elite 4. So many Pokemon that gen never evolve and it hurts the feeling of progression.

Which doesn't help the feeling that Gen II was an expansion pack of gen I.

I guess Munchlax and Snorlax invite got lost then.

The Pawniard line is actually based on Kamen Rider and their typing reflects that.

Yeah I know what you mean, thankfully some of them got new evolution in gen 4.

Yeah, gen 2 was really overshadowed by gen 1.

Gen 2 is filled with non-evolving Pokemon that aren't very good, or weren't very good until future generations buffed them.

Corsola
Quilfish
Stantler
Girafarig
Dunsparce
Sudowudo
Wobbuffet (Pre-gen 3)
Gligar (Pre-gen 4)
Sneasel (Pre-gen 4)
Yanma (Pre-gen 4)
Murkrow (Pre-gen 4)

I'm not sure how Pawniard's typing reflects Kamen Rider. Steel kinda works since the original Kamen Rider and many of the further ones were cyborgs, but Fighting or Bug would make much more sense than Dark.

We really need another gen IV to evolve (not mega) these folks. Also steel and poison eevee pls.

Wait, Snorlax is a bear?

Yep, the Snorlax line are based on bears.

Also the origin of Snorlax's Japanese name is also funny as he was named after Kōji Nishino's nickname who was so hungry that he ate a moldy food from the fridge.

Well the steel reflect the cyborgs and the dark type reflects how Kamen Rider are heroes who gained their powers from evil.

Yeah, I am hoping that Mega existing doesn't stop some past gen Pokémon gaining traditional evolution.

I honestly don't see any reason why there can't be room for both.

We need a Dragon Eeveelution before anything else. All of Eevee's evolutions were originally Special Types, sans Sylveon since Fairy didn't exist before the split. Dragon is the only original Special type that still isn't represented, and it still kind of bugs me that they didn't give it to us alongside Sylveon since the past two sets have also had that kind of type relationship(Dark > Psychic, Ice > Grass).

The world doesn't need a Stantler or Quillfish evolution because no one actually gives a crap about them. Create new Pokemon instead of wasting time on evolutions for lame ones that are going to be garbage in competitive play anyways.

This is exactly why i don't like playing pokemon online anymore everyone is so worried about a "useless" Pokemon u wind up seeing the same teams over nd over again. Id love if lesser mons got evos jus for the fun of it.

I want a Qwilfish evo just because an awesome pufferfish pokemon is long overdue, obviously Qwilfish itself does not live up to my hopes.

Of course I'm open for something completely new instead like how Sawsbuck effectively wipes Stantler from our memories.

Corsola and Qwilfish are unremarkable but always felt complete design wise, like they don't need an evolution.

Stantler is just awful and uninteresting, it could really use an evolution to give it some unique characteristic.

Girafarig has always been weird but I like it. It'd be cool if it gets a mega which focuses on it's tail more.

Dunsparce has always felt like it has potential but there's nothing which stands out about it. I'd love for it to have an evolution with a really weird typing like normal/dragon or normal/fairy.

The rest are all great and were great design wise even without their evolutions IMO aside from Yanma which was kind of boring.

Competitive players are so jaded.

Dunsparce has a gimmick for being a hax machine.

Back in the FR/LG Net Battle days, I'd run Haxsparce and get a good laugh until they used Skarmory and it wasn't fun anymore.

I'm not jaded but if you're going to give evolution to old Pokemon, do it for one people actually care about. Pokemon like Corsola and Stantler are so unremarkable that they don't deserve an evolution in the first place.

Stantler actually has a really big movepool. It's his stats that are bad, something an evolution fixes.
