Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

I wonder if Star Citizen's success, Star Wars year and all that can give sony some ideas about Colony Wars ...

I can't even imagine it on PS4 :(

After a new press conference is always a good time to update the list.

Crossed out is last year's announcement for comparison/expectation management.

That is a reasonable list though if take out all the remasters, collections and expansions it kind of diminishes. I still find it weird Sony is yet to release a Resistance, Uncharted or LBP equivalent IP this generation.

Yes take out games and its worse.

I dont get the point of that honestly.

Updated an old working file I had. I think I shared this before, but it was without 2015 info. Basically just an overview of announcement patterns over the past 3 years.

Nexy year is looking insane for Ps4, anyone has the whole list of exclusives coming out?

Took on the challenge, kinda wished I didn't. This took more time than I expected. Also, I expect people to point out games I missed, but meh. =/

Was surprised at how many first party titles we got updates on at PGW. Of all the first party games shown there, I'll be surprised if Gravity Rush 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Detroit (not first party but including it anyways) show up at PSX. I also wouldn't be shocked if GT Sport or Dreams don't show up either.

Again, fantastic work and that is a frigging insane line-up. Even if a good third of that stuff is delayed into 2017, it's still a crazy busy release schedule in terms of both quality and quantity.

Thanks for the effort. 3rd party exclusive PSVR titles are missing, but there is no point listing them all when PSVR hardware is still not out and game lineup is not finalized.

This list doesn't make any sense though, its a known fact that indiestation 4 doesn't have any games worth playing.

you missed quite a few

Rime or The Witness are missing in the list. Not sure if Tekken 7 is console exclusive or confirmed to be a 2016 game, but at least will have exclusive PSVR content.

I don't see Matterfall but I don't remember them announcing a date either.
At certain point of the conference Ryan said something like 'the following games are going to be released on 2016'. Not sure if it was announced on that portion or if he was mentioning all the games from then until the end of the show.

Is Materfall a Big Budget Production?

Also wasn't there an ad, indicating that Quantic Dreams next game will come out in 2016. Not so sure about Detroid

Hmm, I kinda wonder if Bigfest is dead, it's was announced in 2013 and I haven't heard anything about it since PS3/4 versions were announced at Gamescom last year

Matterfall was not part of that, those were NMS, Boundless and the music game. Anyway, Housemarque is still finishing Alienation and they're working on the Jarvis project as well, I tend to think Matterfall won't be out untill 2017

Btw, the list is impressive, but I miss there Rime or The Witness.

Rime has no release window. Same with WILD, Detroit and Matterfall, which is why they're not part of the list.

I stretched the rules a little bit for Kill Strain, Guns Up! and Drawn to Death, because while they're not officially dated for 2016 either, the devs have said recently (Colin/Greg Live) that they're going to be released officially rather soon, and they've been in Private Access/Beta for quite a while now.

As for The Witness, it's a "First on Playstation" game, not a lifetime console exclusive. No Man's Sky would not have been part of this list as well had PGW not recently confirmed that Sony has locked NMS as a console exclusive, and not just a timed one.

Ryan said "the following 3 games are a console exclusive to be released in 2016" which referred to Boundless, Avicii; Vector and No Man's Sky.

Cool, thanks. For Rime they said in interviews that were targeting late 2015-early 2016, but recently they got a time extension for extra polishment. No officially announced date.

I was thinking about Y's 8, Dissidia, Atelier Sophie, Tales of Berseria, Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival and 2.....

But i don't know if they count

Shit, I forgot about Atelier Sophie. Will update shortly.

As for Witch & Hundred Knight Revival, that was actually already released in English in Asia PSN this year, so lol it didn't cross my mind that the western territories gotta wait till 2016.

As for Dissidia, it's not announced for PS4 yet, so I'm not including in "unannounced" games.

As for Berseria, it's not officially confirmed a 2016 release, even for Japan, Will refrain from inclusion until further updates.

As for Ys 8, given that the game has clearly missed its intended 2015 release window, I'm treating it as a TBA until Falcom updates us the next time round.

True, however its only been 2 years since launch. I can tell you I never expected Uncharted to become as big as it has back in 2008 so its still too early to judge.

Until Dawn and Bloodborne have the makings to be great franchises throughout this generation however and Horizon is still on its way. I can definitely see them achieving greater commercial success throughout this generation than either Resistance of LBP did during the PS3 days. Also to those saying those developers aren't first party, neither were Insomniac or Media Molecule back in the day. I believe MM weren't acquired until 2010, two years after the launch of LBP.

Best wishes.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
What if this game is the one with Jarvis?
No, the Jarvis game is a third title in development. Housemarque confirmed that several times last week. They also said on Twitter that the Jarvis game is their own IP, so might be multiplatform like Outland.

I hope we hear more about those other games next year, i'm tired of seeing them languish with TBA status
