Do you watch the credits after you beat a game?

When I was a kid I was pretty active (50,000 edits lol) on the Nintendo Wiki, so I was pretty familiar with Nintendo employee names and always enjoyed watching the credits to see who I recognized.

Im kinda ashamed to admit this but .. i actually watch the credits first (If the game gives that option).
I like to read about the tech and third party libraries used. :3

If you are able view the credits before playing I usually take that as a sign they are unremarkable and thus skippable. Simply because you likely wouldn't put content spoilers in credits you can see before you play. Portals "Still Alive" credits would spoil everything if you could view them first.

Usually yeah. Ubisoft credits I'll usually end up doing something else but otherwise I'll generally watch them.

A holdover from my days working in film I guess.

I never skip them in case there's something but I don't actively stare at them.

Sometimes I kind of just lay down and listen to the music if it's good, browse GAF and complain about the game until the credits are done

Yep, pretty much this. Depending on the time of day I'll either get a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or brush my teeth.

Yes but somehow forced since most of games put a final story plot or even the real ending after credits , annoying.

Yep. If the game is good enough to hold my attention for 40 hours ( or 8 or 12 or whatever ) I can sit back for 2 minutes and see who the minds were that created the product.

I'll usually always watch the credits once after beating a game for the first time, and then skip on subsequent playthroughs. Usually it really hammers home though if the credits are done really well with some very nice music, and the game that I played was a hell of an experience. Take Skyward Sword's credits for example.

Depends on the music and mood. And absolutely no for Ubisoft games.

This as well. Good, good music.

I got grounded as a kid because I told my mom her turkey roast could go fuck itself because they were trying to force me away from the Wind Waker credits.

No, too busy basking in my own glory.

Well, I let them play but I'm usually not paying attention, unless the credits are awesome.

I usually do, and I find myself clapping to them more often than not if the game was overall a fun and good experience.

I try to when possible, GTA5's I sat through...twice, and that thing is like 45-50 minutes of non-stop credits (no exaggeration lol) but the scenery/soundtrack is great and it serves as a nice endcap to the game.

I think the current gen/PC versions have even longer credits too, the game might have the longest credit roll in all of gaming.

I generally do, in case of easter eggs or a cut-scene at the end. A few I'll tune out and start looking at GAF while they play in the background - this is mainly for Ubisoft games or once the creative names have gone by and the corporate information starts up.

I did for Dark Souls. Such an experience when that game ends. It feels like I've accomplished so much, and yet nothing at all. No other game does that.

Ya I usually do. There's good stuff in there sometimes and if I finished their game then I don't mind watching their credits too.

If I really enjoyed the game, yes, or if the credits have memorable music. Mass Effect nailed this in both respects. I enjoy that feeling at the ending of a really good game, where I'm reflecting on the experience and feeling that sense of almost-sadness that it's over.

I usually listen to the end credits and at the same time do something else. Like rate and do a review about the game.

If the last stretch of the game took a particularly mighty effort to beat, I'll let the credits scroll by just to bask in my victory.

I'll also do it if the credits music is really good i.e. Sonic 3&K.

Yes, I want to reflect over the game and watch the post credits scene(s). And to pay some respect to the people that made the game.

Yeah, I always let them roll and either do something else and listen to the music or just kinda zone out while I watch the names roll by.

I afraid I might miss something if I don't like interesting pictures, or cutscenes suddenly starting, so yes. Also, I feel like it's respectful to the developers.

When I was a kid, I used to watch the credits, only to see if someone who had my family name worked on the game.

never happened :(

I try to skip them if possible.

I hate it when it goes on and on ... and even more when there is New Game +

Some games made them engaging. If it's just a black screen with scrolling text, then I don't bother.

I really like Okami's credits, because they give you a new piece of music and you see Amaterasu stroll through her adventure, reminiscing of everything that transpired. It feels like the credits are part of the closure to the experience. I also like engaging credits sequences like the ones from the Smash Bros series or Undertale. They make you play a minigame, which forces you to pay attention.

yes! and with movies too. i hate it when people walk out of the theatre the second the movie is finished. its just disrespectful to the people who made the medium.

If I can skip them, I always do. 99% of the time the after credits scene (if their is one) will play even if you skip the credits themselves and the ones that don't I can watch on youtube. I generally get quite irritated if you can't skip them, my lifestyle dictates that the best time for me to play games is generally quite late in the evening and having to stay up an extra 30 minutes so names can scroll by slowly in the game I have just finished does sometimes push the patience a little.

In small or mid-tier games yes. In AAA games no. I don't have 15 minutes to watch the names of 300 people, including a dozen levels of marketing managers for a global company, roll up the screen.

Sometimes I watch it, sometimes I don't. But even when I'm allowed to skip it, I let it roll until the end... Always.

Hell no. Unless there's some kind of gimmick to make me stay. I let them run with the volume turned up so I can hear if there's a hidden or after credits cutscene, but I'm not really paying attention to them.
