I'm due for an upgrade, but I'm on the AT&T Next plan. How would I get this phone but on that plan? I think previous Nexus phones weren't even available through AT&T. Is that still the case?

I don't have a Note but reviews are mostly useless. Just repeated company PR with a few neckbeard interpretations of their favorite tech. It's hard to get a good sense on what the battery is like and why. It seems decent, phone wise but you have to dig thru a ton of sites and you still don't have a good sense on credibility. These various tests that don't emulate real life just seem like a good idea at the time but has some flaws. So, I've resorted to just using personal reviews and comments with a grain of salt. Thanks for your input, that is why I asked.
The biggest issues I have with my Nexus 5 is the terrible battery life. After getting a work given iPhone 6 Plus I love the bigger screen and much longer lasting battery life (iOS withstanding)
However none of the reviews for the Note 5 say anything about poorly managed memory on the device. I am curious where you are getting this from? The base layer OS is Android so it manages all the memory. I certainly never had any issues with 5.1.1 and memory management.
Again two phones with the same screens, one with a larger battery (6P), slower SOC (6P), less RAM (6P), (better "memory managed" as you say) yet still manages less battery life on a day to day basis.

Maybe all the flagship phones of the past 6 months will get another shoot out once 6.0 is on them.
They both look like great phone. Just trying to get other info before dropping $700-500 on a new device.
You'll get it before that unless your are a Frost buyer I think

Glad to hear! Pictures of the phone seem to vary widely because of the nature of the metal I suppose, hard to tell what exactly it's supposed to look like.
Same color and memory! Team Graphite!
Waiting for temper glass and spigen glass case to ship is a pain in the fucking ass though.
Pretty sure this is my next phone when my Nexus 5 dies. Just wish there was a version without the camera bump (and fingerprint thing).
If you're open to trying Project Fi, I believe you can finance a 5X/6P over 24 months at 0% interest with a new membership.
Uh what?
Note 5 gets destroyed in memory management as it's the Galaxy S6 all over again.
Plus the stylus gets stuck even when you insert the S-Pen correctly due to its poor construction (glued together).
Some videos to confirm memory management issue:

Absolutely stupid. Samsung builds a 4GB RAM phone that pulls off a 1GB RAM experience.
If you still don't believe that, then go up to a demo unit at a store and play with it.
edit: Since you're paying without subsidy, only consider Nexus phones.

It's a pretty phone but your gonna want to wrap it up, it's too pretty to risk injuring.
Trust me, you'll like the finger print scanner. It's brilliant.
This is what I did. Gives you an option to pay in full whenever with 0% interest.
I talked to a T-Mobile rep and they told me they won't be getting the 6P until next year at the earliest. I wanna use my Jump, damnit!
Added, waiting for Anand's.I request TNW's review to be put into the OP.
For the removable battery, just carry a battery pack with you. It's larger, don't need to shut off the phone changing batteries and with the fast charging the 6p does compared to most phones, you only need a 30 minute charge to last for a couple of hours. I can personally live without capative buttons. Would like to be able to rearrange the digital buttons though. The 6P is almost perfect. The screen size, stock android and oled. I just have to have a removable battery and hardware buttons. Not sure if that combo will ever exist again.
So, forgive the noob question, but if I put the SIM card in the Nexus, then I'm still on the AT&T network? If I log into AT&T would it assume I'm still on the old phone or the Nexus? As long as the bands are supported, you can just buy it off the Google store and put your SIM card in. If you still have payments left to make on your current phone, though, you would still have to pay those. ATT hasn't offered a Nexus phone themselves for quite some time I believe. I usually buy my phones separate from ATT and don't have to worry too much.

A few people have had the glass on the back crack, allegedly with no impact, due to pressure? temperature changes?

There are some pics there, and obviously since the situation is brand new there's no response yet. Mine is in transit and arriving on Monday, but I'm not planning to return it. I hope this is a small minority.

I don't think they're going to have it in any retail stores and none of the carriers have said anything about stocking it. That being if you want to get an idea of the size of the device try looking at the iPhone 6S Plus. Both phones very nearly have the same height/width and they're the same thickness wise so you could get a rough idea out of it.anyone know if any carriers or retail locations in the US have this phone/mockup yet? Interested in this phone but idk if I want such a large phone.
You can either go into a Verizon store and they will convert the micro into a nano for free, buy your own micro to nano tool to cut it yourself, or verizon will make you buy a new sim card.Well fudge.
Just realized my SIM card on Verizon is a micro SIM card, and the 6P uses nano.
what's a grandfathered Verizon brother to do??
Cut it. I had to cut mine from my Nexus 5, too. You can find templates online, and it's easy.Well fudge.

EDIT: No special tool needed; just use scissors.
I don't understand having the fingerprint sensor on the back. That just means you can't unlock the phone on a table.
Unlocking it while taking it from my pocket would be perfect if the headphone jack was on the bottom.I like unlocking mine while I pull it out of my pocket. Works great for me. There's still the old password/pin/pattern if you don't want to lift it off the table for whatever reason.

Only Project FiIs this deal only with project fi? I currently have T-Mobile and was hoping to pay it off monthly.
I ordered the Ultra Hybrid version. Was thinking about getting the rugged version.I just got the black Spriggin case for the 6P. It's not as nice looking as the Vervus case, but most importantly, the hole for the charging cable at the bottom is big enough so I don't have to pull at it to get the cable loose. The case makes it look like an huge iPhone 4 though. Ha-ha.
Yeah, looked like I ordered the rugged version.Only Project Fi

I had one last week and decided it was too large for me so I returned it. Now all I can think about doing is ordering it again. I didn't realize how much I liked it until it was gone and I'm a 5 year iOS user. I had the aluminum 32 but I'll probably order a 64 maybe in frost
I read about Novas options after I returned it. When I heard about the notification gestures it almost sealed it for me to reorder. Thanks for the tips.If you wear tight jeans it could be a problem, the size I mean.
After a week+ my hands have gotten used to holding it. I have done the following to make it easier for me to use:
- I've moved all my icons to the lower half of the screen to be able to hit them with just my thumb.
- Started using Nova Launcher again so that I can set a gestures to bring down the notification shade and also quick settings
