First list of Xbox One backward compatibility games revealed

So yeah like everyone is saying the list is really weak. Hopefully they will do a better job with the next list of games. But then again I don't think my fighting games like the marvel vs series will be making the cut anyway.

Wait, this hasn't happened yet?

And no Halo 3 / ODST / Reach? Really?

Edit: Oh wait... they wouldn't want that...

How is Ms. Splosion Man backwards compatible, but not Splosion Man?

Anyway, all I want is Rez HD. Come on, Microsoft.

Seems like they haven't yet got multiple disc games working yet then.

RDR had multiplayer on a second disc if IRC.

Looks like there will be monthly updates though. I'm happy for Mirrors Edge, South Park ,Fable 2 and all of the GOW.
Waiting for Ea Access to add BC games to the vault now.

Was really hoping for Catherine and SOTN. Guess I'll have to wait a bit :(

And I wonder why sonic and Knuckles isn't on there? Maybe they couldn't get Sonic 3 and Knuckles to work?

A reasonable list for starters - not as bad as people are making it out to be but a notable absence of some of the most anticipated games - I would have thought they would get them done first!

Glad to see Lego SW Complete Saga on there! Gonna play through with my8 yr old son :)

Really hoped for the whole Fable trilogy too - I want a fresh play through on the One.

South Park SoT has made my day, skipped it due to converting to the Xbox One, will be getting straight onto that once I finish with Fallout 4.

Looking forward to Black Ops when it comes.

I said in this in the other thread, but either Microsoft needs more time to test and prepare future titles or they're purposely holding back big games. There's baffling first party exclusions and I don't see why something like only one Assassins's Creed title would be BC for example.

In terms of games I'm still intending to get around to, it's nice to see Condemned, Fable II, Just Cause 2, Kameo, Mirror's Edge and The Stick of Truth on the list. That's a reasonable collection to be going on with, at least!

Also, through PS+ I found Super Meat Boy a *lot* better with the PS4 d-pad over the Xbox 360's - but the Xbox One's d-pad is also an improvement over the 360, and that version keeps the music intact... Hmm.

Next question, of course, is how well these run. I recall the Digital Foundry commentary early on stating that a few games weren't quite working as well as you'd hope, but there's been a fair amount of dev time since then...

Really disappointed.
Was hyped about getting an X1 (partially) for that, not anymore. Hope the next list is better and that we won't have to wait too long...

Exactly my reaction + no Outrun... Well at least Super Meat Boy and Shadow Complex are there.

Outrun's a long shot due to it already having been delisted. MS could probably help Sega get it relisted again, seeing as they hold the Ferrari license on Xbox, but I doubt either cares enough.

If Daytona USA gets delisted (only a matter of time) before it becomes BC though... I'll probably snap.

Could be better, but if they get a monthly raft of games coming though, it should keep things fresh. There's enough on there that I own for me to revisit some games. I'm also quite pleased that Stick of Truth is on there. I haven;t played that yet and feedback has been brilliant about it.

Not a single Fighting Game.

That's my main issue with that list. I own half a dozen titles there so it isn't so bad, but those I was expecting the most are missing.
Oh well that gives me something to look forward in future updates. :p

Ah shame, no Symphony of the Night. Excited to go through some of Doom, Metal Slug, Lumines, Sega Vintage Collections and Crazy Taxi all over again. An alright list.

Stick of truth ftw !!!

Came out at that akward point in time where alot of people had gotten rid of last gen systems, so I never gave it a proper go. Same with Splinter Cell: Blacklist, hope that's another game that gets added.

Monthly updates make me think December will be a big month as well. Black ops being worked on says at least Activision is doing something, lol. Reach and Skate 3 are on their way as well.

Overall, 7/10 list for me.

They are obvisiously holding titles back.

There are lots of arcade titels missing which use the same engine as others which are available.

Lots of MS Studio games missing.

They just want to give us 10/15/20 titles each month and also want 2-3 AAA disc titles in there every month.
