Yeah, so Ben is a 7th Day Adventist and supposedly they think the Pope is the antichrist and the US government will be complicit in his rise to power. Does Ben have ulterior motives? :U

I grew up in the SDA church(still a member probably lol) and I can confirm this. It isn't part of the core belief structure, but is preached about quite often. Usually at "Revelation Seminars", which usually consist of weekly sermons by some overpaid guest pastor who parrots the same dumb "interpretations" aka blaming it all on the Catholics. Catholics=Satan is a favorite among SDA's I've been around.

I do worry about this. I grew up in the '60s in South Wales and this was a thing - really, and scary with it. That is still a thing now is rather worrisome. I think it is more-or-less a dead thing now in the UK, with the possible exception of Northern Ireland.

Interesting. Catholic-bashing is standard among Protestant sects, but SDA seem unusually fearful of them.

Wow, talk about a flashback!

Many years ago, maybe in 1993 or 1994, I attended one of those seminars at a local SDA church with my brother. I had no clue this was a "thing", I thought it was just something local that took place. Wow. I just found this on a Google search and this looks exactly like what I sat through back then...

I know I'm voting for Carson because I'm real black.

Maybe not in terms of my race, but I know what's up with black people. Word. They need/want Ben Carson, and I'm not afraid to say it.
