I do love the impact of lasers hitting stormtroopers, tho. They used to just kinda fall down cuz 70s movie special effects, now they get blasted away, visual burns through the armor, armor plate pieces flying off.

Seriously though, I hope this trilogy gives us good creature moments. I love seeing things like rancors, the giant worm slug thing, sarlacc pit. Maybe we can get ourselves a Krayt Dragon this time?
Just guessing here: They all turn around to face the sky, the super weapon test fires, General Hux snickers. The audience of troopers applauds.

I found the Civil War trailer more exciting than anything SW related thus far. I really want to be hyped by this film, but I just can't. I'm sure it'll be good but not feeling excited at all.

Na, I liked the Civil War trailer. It's no Star Wars but I'm looking forward to it.
One of the few good things (for me) about 3D is that 2D screenings are cheaper and less busy.
I just don't enjoy it and have a harder time detecting (being fooled by?) than most. Also can't see those Magic Eye puzzles ever. Although it's getting more convincing. Avatar spores and Hobbit actually delivered convincing moments for me.
Always been that way or after you got your eyes lasered ?
Only watched the Avengers in 3D. It was a while ago but wasn't impressed, just looked a bit dark and I couldn't help taking my glasses off every few minutes to see which scenes that didn't involve sparks or a pointy thing were 3D.
Never seen those magic puzzles ever either. A secret test, are we the chosen ones.

Just keep your expectations in check. This will not be pure nostalgia awesomeness like you remember. But it should be fun.

I have to admit, it does look a bit poorly edited in certain places, but then again I'm sure that even the recent clips were from work prints. Maybe.

This is what I remember from the magazine articles and JJ interviews:
We don't really know. We know that the enemy is The First Order and we know the Republic isn't 100% formed - the Rebellion exists still and is The Resistance now, who are not in power. I think it's safe to say we're in the middle of a new galactic civil war and both sides are likely made up of survivors from the last one, but we don't know yet.

Is it Han though? The Stormtrooper seems to go flying. I'd guess it was a heavier weapon than a pistol.

to be fair, he did just get a lightsaber. Might need a little work with it.
Both those laser scenes probably take place together. Kylo's sitting in the bridge of a ship while they are watching the test fire from the surface
