The comeback begins

NX delayed until 2020

Haha

Defo good news though. It is no secret that although the Wii U sold quite poorly
(Though not as poorly as most would have you imagine)
it never deserved to. The content output is very good and I am glad more people are getting to appreciate it.

LOL

This really really got me.

Good to hear though for Nintendo. Hopefully they continue to atleast sell decently until NX. There's already enough quality games for it even if this holiday schedule sucked

I was watching a cheesy hallmark movie and there was a kid playing a video game console. It wasn't a PS4, it wasn't an Xbox One, it was a Wii U.

No it's sold just as poorly as people would have you imagine.

Wow that's really interesting. I work at Best Buy, didn't see hardly any Wii U consoles being sold yesterday. Lots of PS4 and Xbox One sales though. Black Ops 3 seemed like the most popular buy for software.

Not really.
Yes it has been out longer, but the Wii U is not that far behind Xbox One sales, both are between 10-15 Million (which combined don't even add up to what PS4 has sold!).
The Wii U launch was better than both 360 & PS3. The issue is that sales have slowed down heavily in the west. The amazing sales of the PS4 have obscured it totally, as have the front loaded sales of Xbox. The Wii U is still selling quite well in JP, I mean all consoles are low in the region, but Wii U is still a competitor there.

I don't want to take this down the arguments of yesteryear, but thougt it was worth mentioning. It is a shame that it didn't aim for parity with the other consoles, as a lack of properly marketed 3rd party games at launch, and then a lack of 3rd party games overall really hurt it.

But I hope, even in it's fading years, the Wii U can still shift units because I think it is a good alternative console, with good, exclusive games, especially for younger people.

There may be a specific reason why Target Wii U's got destroyed - there was a stacking coupon method that let you take anywhere from 15 - 30% off using Wedding and/or college registry coupons lowering the price to $200-220 for a Wii U with two games. I don't really believe THAT many people did that specific coupon stacking trick, but ya never know with crazy resellers.

Splatoon is a stupid fun game, I hope new wii u owners enjoy it. They'll probably enjoy it more than smash bros

The Wii U? But their games are way over priced. I'm so confused.

Joke's on the resellers then, because there's no way they'll make decent profits by flipping a WiiU.

I enjoy listening to this musical artist and the songs on this CD are very good, but I think I will wait for their next album to see if it's better before purchasing anything.

How?

To be fair, that's not an accurate assessment. I have a WiiU and honestly I feel there isn't enough software for it and the game sections in stores for the WiiU are a joke. Titles also rarely go on a good sale.

If someone was going to invest $300 only to find that their kid wants to play the latest Mario game that is now coming to the new NX system they would be a bit upset that they made that investment. Most kids don't go back to play backlogs. They generally want to play what new hotness their friends are playing. I don't think it's as simple as you make it out to be.

I was just in target. Only saw 1 Battlefront ps4 in stock. No xbox, no wii u at all. They have a ton of Dr. Mario and Animal Crossing Amiibo's lol

Stock at my target is nearly done, shit went quickly. I pulled 14 Wiius from the stockroom and they got eaten up

How many were out to begin with, if I might ask (unless you were already counting those)? I realise its all anecdotal, but adds interesting perspective.

It's a good bundle, if I didn't already have a Wii U it would have been enough to make me take the plunge. But after they sell out they probably won't get replenished and that will be the end of that sales spike.

Strange. I just got back from my Walmart and they had a whole end shelf, top to bottom, of these bundles sitting there. Just looking at that, I didn't think they were doing that well, but maybe this store is an outlier.

Or everyone is simply buying their Wii Us online.

Not surprised that smash bros/Splatoon bundle is a great deal for the price they're offering not to mention its getting really close to X mas.

A console is not an investment. The hell?

Of course it is. You're investing in the platform. The word "investment" isn't just about making money. You can be emotionally invested in something, for example.

Can't blame them TBH. I myself am tempted to get a Wii U but wanna see what NX has to offer.

Just talked to my sister, they went with a 3DS as it's cheaper.

Im telling you, we wont see the NX in 2016. So happy to see this system finally sell. Hopemthey realise now that with a better price , they can sell more. Now only if they could start some NIntendo Select title at like 19$, it will draw more attention.

Target Electronics guy here, our stock of Wii U got destroyed. They sold out nearly as quick as the Xone despite us having way more stock.

Still, nobody wants the Animal Crossing Amiibo. Our restock of Splatoon Amiibo went pretty quick though.

I got pulled out of Softlines to ring at electronics today.

Oh God, it's full of resellers.
