Fast Racing Neo Review Thread

Glad to hear it turned out well. Jett Rocket II was pretty atrocious despite being technically solid.
Hope they find success

I don't think platformers are their thing.

I guess they probably enjoy them and wanted to give them a shot but platformers require more than slick gameplay.

I liked the demo of Jett Rocket II but not enough for me to want to get the full game.

7/10 Not F-Zero wtf? Reviewers should stop doing that especially if you look at metacritic. 7/10 is solid but if most of your issues are comparing it to some other game that is a problem.

Great reviews and pretty in line with the impressions from the demo they had at different shows. Everything points at this game being a real gem. It seems that on Thursday I will take a small break from Xenoblade X.

I don't know what I'm doing in X so at least I will have direction in this game even if I will crash all the time.

I don't trust any review to tell me if this actually plays as fast and as responsive as GX. I'm cautiously optimistic that it can provide something in the same level but that game is one of a kind. we'll see, I guess. I'm expecting something more like Wipeout.

The game can't escape the F-Zero comparisons, now can it? Awesome scores though. Might pick it up eventually, but I'm caught up with other games at the moment.

Definitely geting this. Nintendo needs to realise there's still an audience for these games that they just won't make. Metroid's been replaced by Axiom Verge, F-zero is now Fast Racing Neo and Mother is now Undertale. I'm happy there's still devs that do realise this though.

The main difference I can think of is that F-zero has smaller feeling vehicles and very nimble twitchy steering, while Fast is more like wipeout with a NOS can up it's butt.
Being on a nintendo console it's always going to be compared with first party games of a similar genre.

Yeah, F-Zero feels like you are attached to the ground and can turn on a dime.

This one is more of hovering but still tight controls it seems(only played their first one).

Its different than F-zero but they never did anything to get inspired by wipeout, they even went out of there way to hire the announcer guy from F-zero GX

There are two meaningful futuristic racing franchises, and F-Zero is not the one this games skews towards. The games vehicle handling clearly takes after Wipeout.

It's especially evident to see where their inspiration was when you look at Fast on the OG Wii.

Excellent news that the reviews are positive so far. I've been craving something along these lines for a long time, and at that price it's a steal! This will be a perfect offset to Xenoblade Chronicles X during the winter months.

now that they have a substitute for Fzero, they just need Axion Verge and Undertale, and all the fans can stop complain

No indie can replace proper productions ever, not even mid-budget games They are nice to have, nothing more.

I was worried the gameplay would be funky/not so responsive but this reviews put my worries aside and now I'm hyped. Glad to know it also plays well. Can't wait to race in this futuristic game without shadows!

Well hypersonic looks more like my cup of tea, seems they only showed subsonic before
Now I only have the slippery feeling to complain about but maybe it's just the people playing who suck
Yes, they've only shown the slowest speed at trade shows for obvious reason (to not scare off the potential people who could try the game).

Very happy to see these reviews. Since it's such high quality I wish Nintendo would have just let them use the F-Zero license, but that's okay.

Looking forward to playing this soon.

Move over, F-Zero.

After my extensive time with the game, I still much prefer F-Zero. However, it's largely its own game and succeeds with what it wants to do. It's enjoyable and I want to dig into it even more.

It's less like Wipeout than you'd expect, a little closer to F-Zero on that scale. That said, it does have the "floatier" turns, but not quite the same as wipeout.

I'm intimidated by the sounds of how difficult it is. I hope it's not too hard to unlock all the tracks if I'm not great at the game.

Did any of the reviews mention whether you can do a single race or is all single player tied to the career/cup system?

Will probably pick this up. F-Zero is one of my all-time favorite franchises and this looks to be a worthy successor and probably the game that will put Shin'en on the map.

Hey Nintendo...want to make a new F-Zero game? HIRE THESE GUYS!

Watch this video if you have the time.

They play on the slowest speed and the Treehouse dude seems to have fun and do okay.

If THIS looks like too much for you, pass on the game.

Let's just be honest, if we let this bomb Nintendo will notice and we're never getting another F-Zero. If you love futuristic racers and have a Wii U you are morally obliged to buy this game.

It's going to sell really well.

Nintendo still probably won't make another

I suspect you will be able to unlock all the tracks on subsonic. None of the reviews made subsonic sound impossibly hard.

Of course it's not F-Zero and not even Wipeout, but those two are anyhow dead and the futuristic racers are utterly missing on the market currently and this is a great futuristic racer by all accounts that can live on its own. It deserves its own identity. I hope the sales will provide that. The order is surely helping.

Are there plans to bring this to any other consoles?

(Forgive my ignorance, not port-begging or owt, just dunno whether to buy it Thursday or wait.)

Pleasant surprise! For whatever reason, I was always skeptical about this game. It looked awesome visually but I wondered if the gameplay would live up to the hype. Glad to see it has. Will be giving this a go; I love futuristic racers!

Wow, awesome reviews. I was very impressed when it was in that sizzle reel recently.. had never heard of it prior to that. Good to see that it looks like it's worthy of scratching the F-Zero itch.

No plans or none that they have mentioned and they seem to sell on Nintendo consoles.

Word is that Nano Assault for the PS4(a rare offering to another platform) didn't sell too well.
