NPD Sales Results for December 2015 [Up1: Super Mario Maker]

Mortal Kombat sells better than Batman in the US, and worse than Batman in Europe.
They were both at 5 million shipped the last time we got numbers. Hard to say which sold more overall since we don't get fine grain details.
It did last month
Were you shocked last month when that was the case?

Maybe not that exact wording but there's too many Nintendo threads online where people say that third-party multiplats don't matter and that Nintendo can live without them because they have more exclusives.

CoD on PS4 did 200k+ better last month on PS4 over XB1 when the bundles were included.

Even if it was, isn't it possible Halo 5 was only 400k or less? Why do you believe it was so close to charting?

then again, GTA is GTA only thing that will beat GTA5 off the charts is GTA6

Cut-off for top 10 is >625k. It's still quite easy for TR to not chart and hit 1 million with US sales.
Even excluding the bundles, It was really close last month, wasn't it?

Hats off to Mortal Kombat X making the top 10 for the year. Great for MK, beating The Witcher, Batman, Assassins Creed, and Metal Gear.
And people calling out Halo not hitting the top 10 in December?

EA Sports franchises x2, Minecraft x2, COD x2, Star Wars, GTA, and Fallout. And most of them were cross gen. All of them on multiple platforms.
Very little can compete with those, let's be honest.
With Halo being huge in the US and huge for Xbox, I can see it being the best selling exclusive title in in 2015. No data to back it up, other than it was in the UK.
Only other thing to compete would probably be Bloodbourne.

I literally did not buy a single title in the top-10 for 2015. Guess my purchasing behavior is no longer a representation of the core market.
I didn't say that. But if all you needed to enter the top 10 this year was 625k, Halo 5 should be in there. It did 900k or so in November...

What else is insane about GTAV's legs is also its price point. That thing is still selling for $60 new at most retailers. Fucking batshit to be there after this long and yet it still charts time and time again.

I don't know. We estimated that 350/400K sales this month would do the trick.
TR not breaking the top 10 isn't a indication that the game did poor numbers, as the baseline for top 10 was >625K (per Cosmic)
