I don't understand the Tetris piece line puzzles in The Witness although I thought I did.
Are you supposed to make the shapes solely with he lines? What's with the slanted ones? There a puzzle in the treehouse with a single block Tetris piece in the middle that's impossible to isolate.
also don't understand the black stars.
Again at the treehouse, there's a puzzle with a single black star that you can't pair up with anything. No combination seems to work.
Having fun with it, I'm 130 puzzles down and keeping on truckin'.

Would it be cheating to use SAM to remove achievements one has? I have a couple in Cities in Motion that I got because of those Playfire rewards and one turned out be a rare one and is always the top in my achievements showcase and kind of bugs me.XD

Wh... why does it bother you so much? No one really cares. Adding achievements is one thing, but I don't see anyone getting on your case about removing it. Don't see the point of doing that, though.

Mostly because I don't think I deserve the achievement, since for the playfire reward I used a scenario in game that someone had made to get said achievement. Also since I'm never going to play the game I'm always stuck with a 5% completion rate on it. Of course not a huge issue but since I've thought about it several times for a year seems I just should do it.XD

Rainbow Six is more than enough uPlay for me!

that reminds me I haven't seen people talking about that game around here

Had my yearly dose of uplay with Far Cry 3

Oh man I should go and finish that game

Hey there, everybody. This is Ryu, from Streets.

Did you know? My favorite things are, jumping into the lake fierce, stale bread, water without any ice, the newest game from Ubisoft, aaaaaaand dirt.

See you in Street Fighter V, everybody!

I have a Quick Look of Golf with Friends up.

Thumbs up from me. Getting an online game going is super simple and worked without a hitch. Right now there isn't a whole bunch of content, but I def recommend it when the game gets out of early access. As it is right now, the game is solid and a lot of fun.

Note: I prefer arcade-y golf games over simgolf games.

Let's not got crazy now, it's pulp action fluff but at least it has memorable characters that TR certainly does not.

I wrote a bunch of stuff, but decided that instead of going into super detail about what I disliked about Uncharted 2 in a Steam thread that I would reduce it to a comparison of simplified overall plot for the two games:

I vastly prefer TR2013's plot where
Lara is shipwrecked by an angry spirit and fights off a cult while learning to survive and find a way off the island
to Uncharted 2's
my best friend is a douche who tricked me into stealing some artifact/treasure so we could open a portal to another dimension where humans have gone to get addicted to steroids and became hulking blue smurfs with roid rage
.

So... is Lara
the Avatar?
Minor early RotR spoilers
she reads from codexes that appear to give her infinite wisdom with regards to certain things.

Yeah uncharted 2 still sounds way better.

it looks boring

It kind is to me too. The beta is really short and doesn't offer a lot of content. Skills, perks and base building is locked. Crafting is locked so all the optional stuff you do gives you crafting materials which are useless. Dark Zone is what I expected to happen Day 30 in and happened 5 hours in with people already camping spawn points and extraction points. Pretty game but follows Ubi open world game design with tons of stuff on the map. You run along mostly empty screens but it sure is great looking.

The one thing about the Uncharted series is that it's self-aware that it's a mindless cinematic shoot-bang. Popcorn and good beer, you know.

Zero interested in the game (but I'm very curious about Snowdrop engine).

I've used SAM to remove achievements, but I'm not sure if it will work for you since you've already synced it up on the server side.

i don't know about you guys but the only problem I have with the new Lara is that she's not doing enough backflips

she does like none of them

She seems to get melee'd by invisible RE characters a lot. Like through walls and when people are talking or when she's walking down stairs.

i kinda don't see in these screenshots what's so mindblowing about tomb raider

maybe it's better in motion but it just looks like a regular hi-res game to me?

WTF? Those anime girls images are from Artificial Girl 3.
Don't ask me why I know it.
is that a porn game?

why would that be surprising?

happy birthday

everyone who don't already own Remember Me should enter the raffle if just for the pretty awesome environment design, game looks hella good visually especially for a last gen game, just fails at everything else but they aren't that bad.

music was also pretty good tbh

Anyone got any hints for Sunless Sea? I feel so lost playing this o_O

At least UC2 had memorable and likable characters :p
TR has a psychopath and an assortment of cannon fodder

And you'll hate RotTR cos it's basically a bad knock off of UC2's plot XD

This is what i meant when i said that color coding in RotTR is annoying

It really looks like some lunatic went around and painted those surfaces.

And then i come in situation like this

Lara can easily climb over that but no you need to go around to enter that room.

Things like this really break immersion in games.

That's their solution to displaying to the player what is (and is not) interactive. While it's better than the old giant floating arrows that used to point and scream "HERE IDIOT, COME OVER HERE" tthat was frequently used in many older games it's still not as artful as what Naughty Dog does with light, color and camera framing/positioning.

No?

Lots of people use SAM for that. I remember seeing it talked about with regards to F:NV... people getting all achievements then using SAM to reset them all and play again.

In general, the concept of "cheating" with SAM (from my perspective at least), is unlocking achievements you didn't earn legitimately. Removing achievements, fixing glitched achievements, syncing achievements with another platform? I don't personally consider any of that "cheating".

At least UC2 had memorable and likable characters :p

And you'll hate RotTR cos it's basically a bad knock off of UC2's plot XD

I wouldn't agree with that. Uncharted 2 had the same 3 "memorable and likeable characters" that the other console versions had (Drake, Sully, Elena) and added a bunch of annoying/throwaway characters in the mix which only really one of made a return appearance and it was in a pretty minor role.

As far as RotTR? As long as it keeps the gameplay feel/mechanics of the first and has a decent method of conveying the story without the end part of Uncharted 2, I'll be fine with it. And it will probably be better than Uncharted 2 as well.

:D I can't play with the stick during late hours, the microswitches of my two old HORI RAP are far too noisy (both the vanilla and the one I modded with Seimitsu / Sanwa parts).

Anyway...

anybody tried the HORI RAP Hayabusa Silent? Is it really quiet or is it just the name?

If there is such a think as "silent", I would think that you could buy and/or mod that into your existing sticks. ;)

As a hardcore fan, I don't like TT GoT at all. The protagonist house feels like an inferior copy of the Starks, the less likeable character spends the entire game being subject of constant mindless torture from Boltons and co, they didn't even finish what they set off to do from the start.

Characters dying like flies just made me grow numb, it's so joyless and dull that nearly all emotional moments fell flat. I find it funny that Telltale had the audacity of putting a cliffhanger ending in, did they seriously expect people to care enough to fork out more money for mind-numbing torture porn?

I'll agree with the cliffhanger bit... I really didn't like that part of it considering that the books haven't really ventured into anything of that sort at this time. The closest being Bran and his arc, but still, that's far from having any actual implications such as the ending here did.

I felt there was a balance to the characters where there were those I couldn't stand and secretly hoped would die, those I grew to like and wanted to survive/succeed/etc. and I thought they did a good job with the plotting and suspicions and all of those aspects that came over from the books.

Amazing that you've managed to write all that without mentioning "Dragon's Dogma" even once ;)

Fiiiinnneee.... fixed.

This makes me wan to play it only that much more.

I sense the presence of an AMD user :)

Noted.

The real reason to buy the game now is so you get Chun-Li's alt costume.

I loved Chun-Li's dress outfit in USF4, so it's no surprise it's my favorite here. I'll definitely be rocking that if/when I put time into Chun next month.

RoTR overall is pretty good so far. Pacing could use work (arguably too many collectibles), and the story is not at all memorable (if you want lore, the bits accompanying the items aren't bad), but the optional tombs and vistas make it worth playing.

but why aren't you guys playing the division

Because someone told me to furghetabaht it and play The Witness instead.

You should forget about those, have you bought The Witness? If not you should buy and start that instead!

To be honest though I've seen enough so far to leave a decent impression that I'll probably grab a cheapo copy via an Nvidia promo at launch (99.99% chance this is getting bundled with new GPUs). Also there's fuck all to do in the beta that if the game does turn out to be Destiny 2.0 in regards to lack of content with enough variation, then I'd rather not blow throw 20% of the full game before it's out like everyone did in Destiny's beta.

Servizio

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
Anyone got any hints for Sunless Sea? I feel so lost playing this o_O

I didn't really get very far in it, but the main way you get fuel and cash for supplies is by turning in Port Reports to the admiralty back at Fallen London. You get those for each location you visit, and you can get one each time you visit and turn it in. Except for Station 3?

The map is randomized, but each location is in relatively the same spot. Vanderbright is north of FL, the Iron Republic is South, Hunter's Island is a tiny ways east. Everything has a generalized location, probably within a certain grid range.

The first easy-ish quests are to bring a Tomb Colonist to Vanderbright, and to get Strategic Intelligence for the admiralty. Your starting officer will also have a desire if you talk to them and you'll get a decent reward for fulfilling it. The easiest one I ran into was the Shady Cook for the Campaign/Irons background, where you just had to bring him to the prison in the Sea of Lillies which isn't too far to the east. Other than that, it's kind of a crapshoot what quests will apparently pop for you? I got a really good one for...Uhh. Monster Santa? Mister Sacks, I think? But it never showed up again afterwards.

Not to discourage you, but;

I'm not sure I'd really recommend Sunless Sea. It's so slow, and frankly tedious. I think it's aiming for a gradually building dread, which it occasionally accomplishes. But most of the time it's just sailing through empty sea, slowly. I was hoping it would actually be a change of pace from the browser game, which also deliberately drip feeds you content. Which is understandable for a browser game, but a lot less so for a stand alone title. I wanted them to go in the exact opposite direction of Fallen London and have a discrete narrative with a beginning, middle, and end. With developed characters and locations and actual role playing. But it's basically nothing but flavor text, and a super simple ship mechanic that didn't really seem to improve with buying shiny new upgrades. I'm not really sure who it's for except for hardcore fans of the browser game, which doesn't seem like a great way to grow your audience.
