PlayStation Middle East might be teasing Crash on Twitter

Is that new art?

Also didn't Shu say he had no idea why Layden wore the shirt? I mean unless he was messing with us.

Well Shu is in charge of first party stuff right so he probably wouldn't know anything about Crash being back. He even said that during E3 he didn't know what games were going to be announced or shown. So I can believe him not having any idea about Layden wearing a Crash shirt.

I see nothing wrong in a new crash game in 2016 after 18 years since the last good one.

I'll never understand senseless begging for old mascots to be brought back from the dead

I'd prefer Insomniac on a Spyro 4 if they'd be game for 1 more since Naughty Dog won't ever go back to Crash I think. I preferred the less linear Spyro but I'd buy a new good Crash game in a heartbeat. It's been a long time but I believe other devs can do a better job than what happened in the 00's to the two franchises.

Between this, a full remake of Ratchet & Clank, NX possibly getting a new 3D Mario, and indie titles like FreezeMe and Yooka-Laylee

Return of the 3D platformer?

Just need a sequel to Donkey Kong 64 from Retro Studios and then you know it's back.

Believe.

They're not teasing anything.

Even assuming (and it's a FAT assumption) that whatever employee/intern handles Twitter at PlayStation middle east knew something about Sony's plans, a regional office would never tease anything without the authorization of SCEE central.

And there's simply no way in hell that SCEE central would authorize something like this. Come on. I understand the hunger for a new Crash, but this is simply looking at a cloud, and thinking it's a dragon.

I can imagine that Sony end the E3 press conference with the guy in the Crash suit walking on stage with Shawn and Boyes, announcing the game:

I mean, come on, that's what they'll do.

You know what would be the biggest fuck you to crash fans? If Shawn walks up wearing that suit and acts like nothing is going on and walks off stage with no crash news this E3.

If you look closely, you can actually see the guy's face in there. Looks pretty spooky.

Really hoping PSX trolling turning into E3 hype becomes a thing.

FFVII HD port is announced at PSX, pissing off a lot of people.
Next E3 we get FFVII Remake announcement.

Crash Bandicoot teased at PSX, pissing off a lot of people.
Next E3 we get a new Crash Bandicoot announcement (hopefully)

I keep telling you guys, the reason Sony is bending over to Activision for all the Destiny marketing is to get Crash back or at the very least a co-partnership.

It's not their IP though. I find it strange that Activision wouldn't want initial control over its announcement.

Why would activision care about that? It not like Sony teasing the game will hurt sales, Sony is the only one hyping the franchise.

Awe shiet, hopefully they go big with the return. This is how Shawn will enter the stage. He will para shoot down from the mouth of a Crash Jaeger onto the stage to announce a new crash.

Uhhhh or because Sony's first party line up has been pretty sparse and Destiny was one of, if not the biggest new IP of this gen. The partnership was just as much for Sony as it was Activision. Sony wasn't doing Activision a solid, they probably threw boat loads of money to secure the marketing for Destiny.

He comes out in the Crash suit to announce Powers Season 2 and then leaves.

Actually you now what would be cool, if they realistically rendered Crash to look like that guy in a suit in the next game.

Heck yeah, bring back that 90s relic into a industry that no longer has interest in its genre.

I don't get where you're going with this. Of course Crash isn't going to appeal to all the audiences, but if we can still have Mario games and highly successful crowdfunded projects like Yooka-Laylee and A Hat in Time, maybe you ought to rethink your logic. Of course Crash is never going to compete with some of the big boys like Uncharted, but if you go by that alone, that means the industry will stagnate and crap out nothing but the same games over and over again. You also seem to forget that just because you're used to a crowd, it doesn't mean there aren't different people out there. The reason I bought a Wii U instead of a PS4 is because I love platformers more than any other genre, and there are millions of people like me all over the world.

Thinking like this is exactly what caused Crash to disappear.

Yep, and I can count on one hand how many other platformers are on the PS4.

NOLA_Gaffer, I agree with you that Crash doesn't really deserve to return (in my opinion - I've hated the style since the original and recently tried out 3 to see what the fuss was about only to find it an excruciatingly irritating game), but your reasoning seems to be that the genre isn't popular because there aren't games available in that genre. Wouldn't that be all the more reason to release one? I definitely think there is a place for 3D platformers on the PS4, but it definitely isn't a sure thing like it may have been in the 90s. Generic B-grade stuff like Crash and Spyro simply won't float in the current climate unless they considerably up their game(s).
