It doesn't have to sell "millions" to make money.Seriously. I hope people aren't being serious when they say the sequel would sell millions, because it won't.

Probably just a hardcore Knack fan. You don't need to feel bad about it.
When it doubt, blame Activision. It's always their fault since their CEO is Satan.
Why does Verendus heavily denying it ? Something stinks here.
Yes!!!! IMO, best PS4 exclusive. Had local co-op, reasonable collectibles, and tough-as-nails difficulty for the vets. I've been wanting a sequel since I finished the first. Hopefully it's not something radically different. The game could use some changes, but they had the blueprints of something good.
Kojima and Cerny's co-operative project has been confirmed.
This sounds like a sarcastic post, but at the very least I don't care if it sells more than 'some' AAA games, I care that the team could be used elsewhere- Pupeteer 2, Folklore 2, helping out with other Japan Studio titles namely TLG, which has taken an absurd amount of time to come out.
I like the "idea" of knack: a callback to ps1 type platformer with a focus on tight, slightly streamlined platforming but in favour of more complex mechanics.
Clearly you didn't like the idea of Knack then, because it's not a platformer, not even a callback to one. The focus is on fighting enemies. It's like calling Mario 64 a brawler because he has the ability to punch.
I hope it bombs.
The only thing that is toxic nowadays is gaming community and wannabe gaming journalists.
To me it's.more like people taking the piss than hating on it,you'd be surprised how many people like knack
I hope it bombs.
Going to? Haven't you seen how many are losing their shit over it already?
The majority of critics thought the game was awful. The critics and gaming community happened to determine how successful a game commercially is so...

"It was pretty intentional," Yoshida told Edge. "Mark's idea was like ‘what about [a] Crash Bandicoot for PS4?' when he suggested the concept of Knack. We were like yeah we hate to see all the PS4 games being FPS or action-adventure or very photorealistic, you know big-budget blockbuster games. And you know people like these games but these are not the only kinds of games that people can have fun with."
The way I look at it – there’s a bit of Crash Bandicoot in there, a bit of Katamari Damacy, which is a game I love and must have bought three of four times over the years. And there’s a bit of God of War too. You can see that game’s influence on Knack – especially in the control set, where the right stick is the dodge. Actually God of War 3 was one of my consulting projects!
"We've taken Crash Bandicoot and flipped it," Cerny told Destructoid. "In terms of ratio between platforming and enemies. Crash was very, very heavy on the platforming to the point where -- I went back and counted -- [there would be] fifty plus jumps in a row, all of which resulted in death if you failed to make them, and then enemies that would be just obstacles. Many of those enemies had no attacks. You simply took damage by bumping into them."
"We flipped it around to where we do have platforming, but it's sort of taking a break from the combat," Cerny explained. "The combat is about the enemies; their attacks and then the specific ... places in their attacks where you can successfully defeat them."
Becaue a lot of people like Knack? Weird. Enjoy the happiness around here. A good game gets a sequelYou mean pissing themselves of laughter
Or an Ape Escape game for PSVR!
I hope it bombs.

Actually I'm surprised by how many people here say they like Knack lol but also some people liked TO 1886 as well. The question is their number enough to justify the funding of another sequel over franchises like Sly Cooper or Tearaway?
Actually, no. The sales determine that.
You mean the over a million in sales commercially? That critic and community "impact".
First of all, this game is not officially announced, so loving the meltdowns over a resume, lol. Second, how do you know those other games are not in development? Pretty sure Knack sold more than Tearaway, so...
Sales indicate forecasts for games deserving a sequel, not message board or "critic" opines.
Better than Mario 3D World baby
I actually like the way Cerny phrased that. It describes Knack perfectly. I think in the sequel, though, platforming could still be used as a break between combat sections, but there should be a better balance between the platforming and combat.See, this is the biggest problem with Knack. It was pitched as a plaformer. I mean, it was literally pitched as a platformer

If only i'd known that the "bit" that was Crash Bandicoot was that bit where you run toward the screen occasionally. And that "bit" of God of War was literally everything else.
But then it turned into this

In other words "We've taken Crash Bandicoot and removed everything that makes it Crash Bandicoot".
Knack 2!!!! YES!!! Knack was a lot of fun, it's just the gameplay is old school. I think that's why some folks didn't like it. I hope they give knack more abilities and keep local co-op (which was awesome).

These two determine the sales, and clearly these two will just shit on the sequel from the moment it's announced. The original sold well because of reasons that no longer exist. If the sequel reach 1 million that would be a miracle.
These two determine the sales
"I don't like it so nobody else is allowed to like it"
Get a grip.
I thought everyone stopped taking hallucinogenics sometime in the end of the last century.
I hope it bombs.
Don't be jealous, dude. The game of the generation is getting a sequel. Maybe we will see the "Game of the Forever" then.Except for the poor souls that will play it.
They do?
Tell us more how a sequel has never improved in the history of gaming?
Yeah I know, I was mostly talking about how it was marketed/perceived by people before it's release (as a type of Crash 1 callback with platforming and brawling elements).
But no, I don't like the actual execution of Knack at all if that's what you want to know, which is why i'd be up for scrapping it
