PlayStation Middle East might be teasing Crash on Twitter

Facebook trends strikes again... I about shit myself a couple minutes ago, before hovering my mouse and being reminded of this.

Crash trended on Facebook? WUT?

It takes things from a pool of what's trending and shows you the ones most relevant to you.

So yes, Crash trended big on Facebook, but you're more likely to see it or not see it in your personal list depending on your related likes and posts.

(edited to show it all on new page)

I wouldn't mind if Crash stayed dead. The original games have not aged well, Naughty Dog have moved on and I have no idea who could develop a decent Crash game in 2016.

The nostalgia rush is fun but the reality is we probably get something on par with Knack.

Not only have they aged well, they're fantastic games and are still fun to come back to.

And Knack is nothing like Crash in the slightest, it's a poor man's God of War.

Whens the last time you played the original 3 Crash games? Knack has no core similarities to it at all whatsoever. If you wanna talk about how its art style is similar to Crash and Spyro, I won't argue you on there.

Anyway, can't believe Crash is trending in Facebook.

Yes, "Crash" Knack is not.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Sony can't possibly be oblivious to this - they have really picked up on listening to the people, especially Shu.

There's a fuckload of smoke at this point. Like the only reason we can't see the fire is because there's so much smoke it blacks it out.

I remember about someone on NeoGAF putting a huge timeline about every Crash Bandicoot hint and tease since some years, where was it again?

It's not their IP though. I find it strange that Activision wouldn't want initial control over its announcement.

Despite Activision owning it, the last game being purportedly bad, and a slew of possible things making this likely to not come to fruition, last year's E3 has shut me up, sat me down, and told me to speak when spoken to.

so here is my question, since im not familiar with how trademarks work on the legal landscape.

is it legally possible that Sony acquired the IP (made a deal with Activison), but takes over the trademark after they announced the game, so that they can keep it a secret?

After Sony making so many nastalgic dream fuel bombshells last year

I have no douth about this

Damn Sony really fucked there self this year by raising the stakes so high last year

So if Activision holds the IP what kind of deal would we see here

Would sony foot partial development cost and release on ps4 and pc with xbone and maybe nx receiving a port a year later

Middle eastern here.
Crash bandicoot was bigger than mario in the time the ps1 was released. Crash was everyones favorite game. The character is a legend there.

In the middle east there are certain games that are just on another level.

Middle easterners love
-crash
-metal gear solid and kojima
-pro evo
-gran turismo
-resident evil.

These game are above all in the middle east.

I think Shawn's stunt at PSX proved to be a much bigger tease of what's to come this year.

That was FF7R levels of trolling.

Omg, I'm thirsting for a nextgen kart racer with great graphics, crazy sense of speed and online play/ranking!

Gimme gimme gimme 😩

CTR's sense of speed and skill is unmatched today, imo. The boost/sliding system is my favorite of all time.

I'm going to just post this in the most recent Crash thread because I see it pop up everywhere and the Knack 2 thread my quote below is from got closed.

There's this vocal group who seems to think that Crash Bandicoot is just some forgotten "90s attitude" character that no one cares about.

Say what you will about "90s attitude" shit -- if you played the game you would know that was just the marketing renders, Crash in game is more akin to a goofy puppy than 80s and 90s 'TUDE™ -- but clearly he's still cared about:

This Crash Bandicoot fanaticism has to stop. Seriously people, I implore you to rethink this. Outside of a very specific GAF bubble, no one wants to play Crash HD. They were excellent games for their time, but they were essentially 2.5D corridor platformers. The gameplay that was acceptable in 1996 would put most people to sleep if released in 2016, and for good reasons. Besides, Crash Bandicoot games were for children. If you put a Crash game in front of a kid today, they'd want to know where the portal is to switch characters. Or why they can't build a house. Literally nobody cares about Crash Bandicoot.

Yeah dude, no one gives half of a shit, you're totally right. If anything, it seems to me that the "very specific GAF bubble" is this aforementioned group that thinks the games are worthless and that no one cares about it. Only here have I seen such VITRIOL for Crash and its fans. Except unlike the guy I quoted, I'm not going to sit here and say that since I haven't seen it or personally disagree with it that it doesn't exist.

I've seen that last image with a mock PS4 case posted.

I don't think a new Crash would work. I feel if a game was made he would be classed in the same group with Sonic. Sonic has become irrelevant with no great game in years.

They can't really go back to the old formula which is completely outdated. But they can try and use the Rayman Legends formula which apon thinking about it might have a greater chance of working than trying going open world like with Sonic.

Lol okay let's be ignorant as shit and pretend Generations or Colors didn't exist.

If Sonic is still alive and kicking today, then Crash Bandicoot can most certainly make a comeback.

People always talk about the first 3 games for the Ps1, but never about the games that were released on the Ps2. Why? Is it because favorite Naughty Dog developed them?

The ps1 games were good. The wrath of crotex and twinsanity were ok. After that they went to shit. Redesigning the characters for no reason various times. Game play that wasnt even crash.

Wrath of Cortex, Nitro Kart and the Titans titles suck

Twinsanity and the GBA games are pretty good though.

Not aged well? Uncharted 1 is an example of a game that hasn't aged well. Crash 2 is a platforming masterpiece and it's still one of the better straight up pure platformers you can play today.

Why would Activision license out Crash to Sony? I don't think Sony would market it without having the rights. I think they bought the rights a while back
