I just don't enjoy Toriko anymore. It hasn't been the same since the end of the monkey King arc. Everything just feels so rushed and forced.

Finally, it's about to end. I guess this is a fitting way to end it. I hope the author pull through with this one.

Vagabond vol. 18 (6th VIZBIG volume)

Man, I give up. I bought the first three vizbig volumes and was warming up to it somewhat and hoped I'd enjoy it if I just kept reading but man this manga just doesn't do anything for me. I look at the art and it's so stunning but I really couldn't care less about anything that happens in here. I read it just because I bought it and only if I made myself read it. It's so weird too because it gets glowing reviews and I absolutely adore Slam Dunk (have all 31 volumes). I'm cautious now about buying Real, I'll definitely read some of it first online.

I really dislike the whole "we never won once" angle, especially since West was supposed to be an elite school. It just comes off as a desperate attempt at creating tension.

With that said I'm enjoying the arc, unfortunately the author set himself in a position where it was obvious the second fight would go to the east (gotta keep some tension to the main character), butt the fights themselves were very enjoyable, particularly Aoba and her ass gallery.

Am I the only one here that genuinely enjoy Nisekoi?

Sure the romance is stupid but i still found it a decent comedy for time to time.

Also my ShuuxRuri ship still sailing so I dont really care about the rest of the ships

I really enjoyed the first 120-130 chapters, then it drags for a bit, lately I've been enjoying on and off depending on the arc.

it had good arcs (mostly Chitoge arcs and that Ruri one) and it had bad arcs
but what it had that was the most annoying was platonic circle jerking that went on and on and on without no reason

I like Ruri the character but she added to the fuel by forcing us to gulp up pointless Onodera arcs

The main problem with Nisekoi is that it tends to forget what happened on previous arcs/chapters if it does not involve Chitoge. Like a supposed to be progress with other girls never existed. It would have been a better story if it just continuously pushed Raku and Chitoge falling in love with each other even if it's painfully slow instead of being a not-so-well handled harem manga.

Bump in the road with the emotion beam and the lolputting back the cells but shaping up to be an emotionally satisfying conclusion

It has Ichijo who is best looking harem lead, how can I not enjoy it.

Also the female characters are very realistic and pleasant like Onodera.

Lastly best bro Shuu is hilarious.

So got some new manga for my collection:

Your Lie in April Vol. 1 and 2

After Oda's comments I was curious about this. To my surprise, the series is licensed and officially released, so I took the opportunity to check out this series.

The first volume felt bipolar to me. One moment the characters were having slice of life moments, gags, and etc., then other moments are these very emotionally vibrant scenes meant to be taken seriously. It does both of them well enough, but it gets distracting when literally one page is emo shit, and the next page is comedy w/ chibi characters.

Regardless I did enjoy it, and Vol. 2 sold me on it even more. Once Kosei and Kaori perform together in the beginning of Vol. 2, it's some genuinely fantastic stuff. You wouldn't think you'd get too emotionally invested in a manga primarly about playing music since you can't actually hear the sound itself, but the manga does such a fantastic job with the visuals and showing the actual emotion of the people listening to the music it really is able to convey it very well I feel.

Consider me sold on this series. Already bought Vol. 3 and 4.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan Vol. 1 and 2

Another manga I was interested in for quite some time now. I love war manga like Kingdom, and Arslan seemed right up it's ally. For the most part, I really enjoyed the story, but even after two volumes it feels like the story is just beginning.

I was surprised at how brutal it was with Arakawa doing the art. She went full seinen with this series, which is fantastic considering what type of story Arslan is trying to tell. Despite this, Arakawa does suffer that classic manga-ka syndrome of samefacing a lot of her characters, with only a few standouts here and there including our main character himself.

However as I said, it feels like the story for Arslan has just started. I am however interested in seeing it through so we'll see how this prince will end up taking back his kingdom.

This ... makes sense in hindsight. I know people mentioned one of his latest comments from Jump, but throughout 2015 Komi had done nothing but mention how much he loves playing Splatoon, Smash, and Mario Maker in the comments. I think even the Shonen Jump podcast mentioned off hand that they seen him hanging around the Nintendo booth during Jump Festa or something like that. Dude had been going on and on about Nintendo.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up getting more crossovers with Nintendo. I wonder if the MGS Nisekoi Vita game will end up being ported to the Wii U at some point.

I like Nisekoi too.

I get that it can be frustrating to read at times when it drags or goes around in circles, but I do genuinely think it's a pretty nice series and have fun reading it week from week. It's not the best thing in the world but for what it is, it's got nice art and a cast I like. For a series that is meant to be a romcom, it's amusing and quirky to keep me intreasted in continuing. Plus Komi has his moments of brilliance where he shows why people loved his stuff early on like Double Arts or his one shots.

The Nintendo booth was partly a Nisekoi booth at Jump Festa.

The only thing I can speak positively about in regards to Nisekoi is that the girls are cute.
Yeah Komi's art was already max fluffy but he really took it to the next level as it went on. It's platinum fluffy nowadays, and it's crazy how little fanservice there is (comparatively)

So he recovered more memories...I hope he meets Airi again.
Looks like the final confrontation will happen in the next 2 or so chapters.

Maya just falls in love with any man that's slightly kind to her, always awfully quickly too.

Though the duality with Ayumi being unable to portrait love is an interesting point.

Glass Mask 66

Oh wow, did Ayumi just manipulate some poor guy into falling in love with her just to see how someone eyes look while they're in love?
