I'm trying my hardest to not watch the trailer again. I've already seen it too many times.

why does a character living or dying have to be about "obviousness". If it makes sense for the story for him to die then kill him. If it doesn't then don't. Thinking about how unexpected a character's utterly binary life/death status is a misguiding reasoning for making a choice like that, and if the only impact of it is how shocking it is to the players than it reveals its own cheapness.

What I am saying is no developers ever go down that route even when they should (see mgs4). Not saying they have to, but I would enjoy if a developer did once in a while.

Is it a good looking gif? Yes. Is it a great gif? Yes. Is it the second coming of Christ? No. I've seen better ones from FH2, DC, Horizon, QB, hell, even the original U4 teaser gif was more impressive.

The sharpness of Sam's jacket overlapping on Nate when we're looking at Nate bothers me a bit. I hope they fix it and keep it consistent because right now, it just looks like a low-res texture rather than shifted camera focus.

Pre-order cancelled otherwise.

So let me get this right, the lighting and particles are something to be blown away by (and rightfully so), but the shadow dithering (especially in that snow scene), the artifacting around the right arm and face somehow goes unnoticed?

I mean I understand the concern for the shadow dithering, but does what he say really deserve a wtf? That gif is impressive despite the shadow dithering. And you see that yourself, so wtf is a bit of a strong response

The age difference between those 2 kids seems more than 3 years. I'll give you something though, if Elena is pregnant in U4. That could make your prediction plausible, but there has to be a 2-3 year old kid in the picture.
It seems crazy to me that during the conversation between Nate and Sam from the PSX footage,
he didn't mentioned his kid after mentioning Elena.

Nahhhh I'm good. I've already dissected the 2 gameplay demos and put a ton of hours into the Beta. I know UC4 is about to be the best Uncharted. Gotta leave something for April.

I'm yet to see a realtime DoF effect in a game that actually does what you're asking. Unfortunately fixing it is not totally simple.

This is the best video game trailer I have seen in years, maybe its because most videogames have boring trailers (unless its Metal Gear), but this one made the game look more epic.

And for the record, ND have proven they've learned their lesson after showing virtually everything from Uncharted 3 pre-release. This trailer manages to show a lot of restraint.

Loving the variety of environments I'm seeing here, the aquatic ones are my favorite. I have a feeling we'll be going underwater more than once since Straley said they don't design mechanics for things that will only be used once. Maybe we'll get some scuba gear if we go back a second time. Hoping the treasure hunt leads Nate to the lost city of Atlantis.

Yeah, that would make sense. I ended up pre-ordering it on Amazon. I can just cancel it if I change my mind, anyway. Only bad thing is I will miss out on the Prime discount on Uncharted 4, but oh well.

Yeah that was great too but i barely remember anything from the Uncharted games, i played them all on release day when they came out and then never touched them again.

I'm thinking about getting the HD collection and play all 3 games again before UC4 but i'm afraid i get burned out lol.

I want the intro for U4 to be connected with the teaser from E3 2014.
But honestly, the intro will probably be the flashback of them as kids. Kinda weird that they revealed that since the keep that hidden for U3.

Yes, it went unnoticed. Is that wrong? Am I supposed to examine it closely so I can 'find' faults and not just enjoy the game? If I don't see there's no point in looking for it. There's a life lesson there too. I'm a half full guy and clearly you're an half empty guy. I'm satisfied that this looks incredible.
