Got the Crossbones set and I'm debating to get the BP Chase set because Black Panther and his jet but then, I would have another Cap and Bucky.

I'm utterly uninterested in Crossbones (another boring smalltime enemy in black, yay) although a movie Falcon would be cool. I might get the BP depending on how interesting he is in the movie. But for now, I'll probably spend my cash elsewhere, like those great Elves parts packs :)

if you search kmart.com for lego and sort by release date, you can find most of the March sets now. A few are still unlisted (some even sold out, like the Giant Man set)

Get the black panther set. The panther minifig is pretty nice. The helm piece for his ears is made of hard plastic, not soft like some of the older ones (Darth Maul, etc.), I like it better. You get two of them btw. He's a great minifig to add to your Marvel collection. I think this set is going to start flying off shelves once the masses get exposed to Black Panther, who is rather obscure to most people right now.

His ship is nice, a bit small but that's a $30 set for you

Oops, I read it as the sets are on sale as in discounted. Followed link and was like, that looks like MSRP. LOL

I don't think any kids are shoving entire trains in their mouths.
Have you seen the magnetic piece we're talking about?

It's a magnetic cylinder 1.5 stud wide and about 1 stud high. Smaller than a 2x2 cylinder. Definitively small enough to put in your mouth, if that's the issue.

I've plently of those from train sets. and I'm pretty sure that's the piece they're using...

Just built the batman vs catwoman mighty micros set. The 1 x 2 pointy cat eye printed brick is perfect for a toothless moc from How to Train Your Dragon.

Maybe but man, I really hate getting 2 figures of the same character, I'm still debating on the Space Mission because of that.

The BP set is the rare example where if the BP fig is reasonable priced in the after market I can feel fine just getting that fig. I need absolutely nothing else in that set except for BP. Deathstroke from the Bat Harbor Pursuit was another example of the rare superhero set you can get away with just getting one of the figs.

Let's be honest, most of those Super Hero sets are only worth it for the minifigs
Nobody is suggesting otherwise though. However you have to realize that at this moment you are going to pay close to $20 shipped to get him on his own. You get a hell of a lot more for only $10.

This is why buying minifigs on their own is a bum deal. If you are willing to just buy the sets, keep the minifigs you like, and sell the rest off, that is viable. But for me it's a big time sink, I have a lot of other things to be doing. So I have to balance carefully the rewards of each approach.

Maybe that will go down a little in the coming weeks, but that's the reality right now.

Now if lego lets you buy things like the black panther minifig parts in their bricks & pieces program, that would be cool. I don't know if people are able to do things like that or not.

Dat moment when you are ready to contact Lego, all pissed off that one of their QC staff missed a piece and that you are now having to go through all this hassle only to give the pile of bricks another search just for the hell of it even though you already checked it SO MANY TIMES and then actually SEE that damn piece.

it's happened so many times. i have never actually been missing a piece. I now always assume i am at fault.

I always just assume I'm blind when I can't see a piece. Which is also correct. Once it was still in the bag that I had already put in the bin. Whoops.

Well, it's not like there is some QC staff actually checking every single set being packaged...

I'm thinking of starting to buy some of the modulars but I'm wondering what's the first one that will be retired? Need to prioritise buying order.

Pet Shop or Palace Cinema. Impossible to tell for sure at the moment, but both should be on their last year. Then again we still have the Tower Bridge.

On another note, I went to the sale again. Apparently they haven't shifted much. The ISD was gone as was the big Technic set, but most other stuff was still around. I didn't get anything since I'll make a S@H order on Tuesday. I don't know if that's failure or success.

Even now the Ghost or the cantina costs more on BL, but I don't know if I can be bothered. I already don't know if I'll ever bother to sell the spare LotR sets I have, so for now they're just taking up space. Oh well. It's not like I'm lacking stuff to build for now. Let's open up the Sea Cow!

Ive just found a whole heap of the 40121 Easter egg-painting sets from last year in my nearby supermarket. I thought they were a timed thing for last year- didnt think they'd be getting released again?

Picked up three all the same like the dirty hoarder that I am.

That wasn't at Larkfield Tesco was it? Saw it too and did exactly the same :p

A local retailer has the Angry Birds sets for sale now. I guess S@H will get them on March 1st as well. They don't generally look too interesting and I can't remember if they include any must-have parts.

If I'm keeping track correctly that means that we're getting Elves, Speed Champions, Angry Birds, Minecraft and Marvel in this lot.

Cool. I've seen them listed on kmart.com but not for sale yet.

I'm tempted to buy a few to check out the figures. I always like when LEGO does really cool custom figures. Some of the TMNT ones (Leatherhead, Fish Face) still rank well for me.

So I finished the Sea Cow (except that I didn't build the Micro Managers or the couch).

It's... cool, I guess. It's a fun build overall with some neat details and another lesson in sturdy construction. If I can find room for it, it will be a great platform for figures of all kinds (to begin with, everyone appearing in the movie).

But is it the greatest Lego ship ever? No, that's still the Imperial Flagship. The classic realistic design wins for me any day, and it's kind of hard to tell where the extra 1000+ parts went with the Sea Cow.

Is it at least the greatest The Lego Movie set? No, that's Benny's Spaceship Spaceship Spaceship. Not only does it have the Classic Space thing going for it, it respects the original design rather than being sort of a parody of it. It's also 1:1 in scale from the movie, while the Sea Cow is obviously scaled down. The same thing made the Constructomech rather dull.

I'm happy that I didn't get it at full price or even 25% off (which I had an opportunity for some time ago), but at half price it's worth it as a fun build and a quirky display piece. But like R2-D2, the Ferris Wheel and some other sets, it will be one of the first to go once I really, permanently run out of space.

Hi quick question about you peoples who build MOCs. I'm looking to build the McLaren MP4-4 but I'm trying to figure out what the most cost effective way of purchasing the parts. Unfortunately the "multi-buy" on rebrickable doesn't work due to having over 150 unique part designs. Any help would be appreciated. :D

Hey guys just got into LEGO again this year, with Star Wars (got Poe's X-Wing, Rey's Speeder, and First Order TIE Figher). Building is a blast and I love how I can just zone out for 3 hours and just put pieces together. I have a question though, why are minifigs valued so much? I feel like I'm missing something when I hear you guys buying unimpressive sets just for minifigs.

To me the building is the highlight of the experience; the minifigs are just a small piece of that and I could honestly be happy buying vehicle sets that don't have minifigs at all - they are just 3 or 4 pieces out of hundreds, after all.

Are people collecting them for display on raised platforms like amiibos?

Because minifgures (in a lot of cases) can't be parted together from other pieces you found by other means. It's mostly a bigger deal with licensed sets... Arkham Asylum is a great build, but not having the characters is part of the "set."

Not for the U.S., at least. They are on the April calendar, though.

March 1st in the U.S. is Star Wars, Ninjago, DC/Marvel, Minecraft, Elves, Speed Champions, the seasonal Easter set, a 2016 revision of that wedding cake topper with a bride and groom and a bunch of the non-buildable stuff like a Friends version of Twister and a paper journal version of the Necronomicon from Nexo Knights.

It's almost always licensed sets where people like the characters in question. some people do frame the minifigs. there's a particular model of ikea frame that's popular on here for it.

some of us love leaving things set up with minifigures all over the place. I adore large buildings and love leaving them crawling in minifigs.

supreheroes are the biggest offenders because so many of them have vehicles that are pretty bad.

Ordered Minifigs at Amazon , USPS said they were delivered via mailbox, never came. This is weird since I got Ant-Man BD and Tearaway PS4 via USPS and both came on time.

Gonna wait til Monday, if not, Arrive. Raise Hell at the USPS. Not Leave Until I get Answers.

40220 London Bus has been listed on Brickset as an upcoming promo polybag, probably available in conjunction with the Big Ben set (or close to it).

Meanwhile, you may remember this as 40221:

Originally I thought this was coming out as the January promo, in conjunction with the Brick Bank, but after having seen the CITY "Fun at the Park" set, I can see this as the July or August promo, for use in conjunction with that set.

Here's the contents of a large cup I picked up today. That's the elephant from this quarter's Pick a Model.
I wish out store got the elephant, but for some reason we only got parts for the plane. Granted there were still useful parts to me, but I want elephants

So you know how they talk about shedding blood, sweat, and tears while building great monuments? Well I had put off building out the rest of the Orthanc Circle for Brickworld Indy to this weekend which was my last available weekend for me to do it on and this Thursday I just happened to come down with a bad case of Hand, Food and Mouth virus that I caught from the baby. Needless to say, my hands are covered in blisters right now and blood, sweat, and tears are being shed while building. I need to get at least the base done this weekend, I can get the rest done on Friday March 11th during setup. A new lesson not to wait till the last minute before finishing something.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth is the worst thing I have ever suffered. I have found it to be far more sinister than flu. You start with feeling dizzy and suffer a full 2 days of pounding migraines that you never thought were possible to be that bad. Every part of your body is super sensitive to temperature and touch. On the 2nd day the migraine is still there and nothing works to treat it and you develop a fever of 102 and diarrhea and dehydration. You also develop a sever sore throat that makes strep seem minor. You pretty much rather drool than swallow and antibiotics don't treat it of course. Your throat blisters up. On the third day you wake up to sever hand itchiness. fortunately I didn't get them on my feet cause the hands were bad enough. All you can take really is pain medications like benadryl and benzocaine lozenges. At about noon today after about 8 hours of painful itchiness, my hands broke out into hundreds of little blisters that I hope to god don't surface cause there's too many.

I can't believe this is a children's disease cause its horrendous.

I am wearing surgical gloves while i build and gloves on top of those gloves when I can so I do not have to Lysol the whole thing later and mess with the plastic.

Had just finished the jet boosters of the destiny's bounty, bag 8 I think, and realized how necessary a short stand was.

So I spent the last 40-50 minutes looking for suitable parts and making it stable.

If only the colors were uniform. But the ship still looks really good on a stand

Power Functions 2.0 coming next year.

Very curious to see the remotes, how it affects trains, what the battery solutions will look like, and how small they can make everything.

Thanks - now that is interesting news. Though if it doesn't come with an accompanying smartphone app I will be surprised.

Would love to see if Lego can start to approach the remote control of the 12v train days :)

Maybe using your phone as a custom control panel for several motors/battery packs?

I would also love a cheaper rechargable battery pack. I haven't really gone into power functions since they will consume batteries like there's no tomorrow, but I'd like to have a setup with a permanently connected battery pack so I can just leave it on if I want.
