Thanks for the info, Max!

Geez, just what is happening to this game? It must be going through serious development hell that not even Miyamoto's brilliance can push it to the right way.

I love Miya but if anything I think his insistence to make this a Gamepad showcase is the root of the game's problems.

Yeah, consider me skeptical of Liam's rumors. But hey, if he's right, I'll eat crow--but these rumors are the worst because even if the game's not delayed, he can just fall back on his "well, I said it may or may not be delayed."

With that said, I hope SF0 turns out alright. I don't want to have to put up with another subpar Star Fox

With my GamePad being broken, if Nintendo wants to retool the game for the NX, I'd happily wait patiently. Can we also get online multiplayer if that happens?

It's been a long time since Minamoto has blessed a game with his "brilliance".

See: Sticker Star.

Hey, since Sticker Star we did get Pikmin 3. Definitely brilliance there.

(And FWIW--though I do say this as a Sticker Star fan--we really don't know what the game would have been like without his involvement or if it would have been good. But again I like the game a lot so I realize my opinion may not be as worthwhile to you on this topic.)

The power of name reputation at work. If a game project is in trouble and someone you respect and idolize is involved, it must be because in spite of all his brilliant efforts, the project is not going the right way. Everyone else is to blame. If a game project is going really well and the game looks awesome and someone you respect and idolize is involved, it must be because of his brilliant guidance and leadership that the game turned out that way. Everyone else was just following his lead. Yup.

Nevermind the actual directors, producers, game designers, programmers, artists, level designers, etc working on a game. None of them can compare to the power of Miyamoto's brilliance even though no one knows what the heck he even does on individual projects these days other than managing overall development on a studio level. Lol.

Of course the one game I put my Dell credit on is going to be delayed numerous times.

Truth.

This is a testament of Mr. Miyamoto's power and influence at Nintendo. He's not about to let a game that he is championing release in a poor state just because of the rhythm of the business.

Go ahead team, take all the time you need.

I'm a bit skeptical of the new rumor, since I'd have to believe that they would have had these conversations a lot sooner than this week. It's really not Nintendo's style these days to delay a game this close to its intended release date.

I agree that this would be super late. It almost seems like this decision is: Should we start finalizing the code for manufacturing or not?

I would be very skeptical that this is even possible if Nintendo hadn't been entirely silent (tweets, press releases, etc.) about the game since 2016 began when it used to be one of the big games they were promoting.

The prophet Miyamoto will shepherd the lost into the arms of the divine. His touch anoints each game with his deified splendor. A testament to the powers of gods among men.

So it is written.
From the Gospel of Nintendo W1:01

If it ends up like the last Pikmin, they can take 8 years before its release.

Yes brother. One must not rush the work of gods.

DELAY IT. Make it a good game ffs. No one is clamoring for this anyway. Just release it when it is ready

That's the truth. This game isn't really high on anyone's list. Leave it in the oven.

He's still brilliant... Pikmin 3, Splatoon as of recent.

Do yall only remember the "bad stuff" ? Sad

Paper Mario is my favorite RPG franchise. The "bad stuff" matters a lot more to the "good", for me personally.

I swear I clicked on that Twitter link 8 times and it hasn't worked once.

Either it's broken LIKE STAR FOX or my computer is even though everything else works fine.

I'm super interested to see the condition of this game during fall 2015 when it was supposed to release. Honestly if they take away the gamepad integration I'll be very disappointed.

I certainly remember that thread, but making a decision that's basically a couple of weeks away from the game being pressed to discs? I just don't really see it.

Nintendo has been holding fast to the game's current release date for a while now. I'd assume any delay would have happened at the last earnings report, and it didn't. I'm not saying never on this, but it just doesn't really add up right now.

I don't think this tarnishes his "brilliance" . Maybe I'm missing something.

Back on topic. I really want this game to be great, so take all the time it needs. Or maybe it's one of those stealth Wii U / NX games?

I don't mean to be rude, but what exactly do you expect people to do in casual conversation? Quote the entire credit list of the games development when they want to refer to the success of a game?

You may be right, every job is just one piece of the puzzle, but a leader is the sum of its parts and more. People credit the leaders when referring to large wars, even though they probably did little else other than sit at a desk and issue orders (depending on how far back in time we go). We call it Bush's fault we went to war in the middle east, for example. They are the inspiration, creators, and innovators who ultimately lead these artists, programmers, and etc in the directions they need to go.

It's not uncommon for great leaders to participate in the "battle" either, especially if you go back to much older times. Take a look at Iwata, didn't he come in and personally program some of Melee's code in the last minute?

In any case, I think I made my point.

Go. In.

Forget delaying it a few months, this game needs a substantial overhaul to make it look anything more than average and forgettable.

And that's probably not going to happen, so the most I hope for is Nintendo doesn't let this title tarnish the chances of the IP being revisited in the future, hopefully by someone other than the guy preventing the series from making any worthwhile evolution.
