We should be hearing a few details about GTS soon, no..? I thought the beta launch was Q1 2016?

I don't know what date they said but whatever date it was push that back by 6-12 months.

PD never get anything out on time.

I bet only long time GT Academy members get invites >:|
Polyphony loves Kool-Aid.

Having the trophy for all-gold license challenges in GT6 will not improve my chances, right? I'm only missing one (the last one, Veyron on Ascari circuit, lap time <1:14, if I remember right).

GT Facebook said not to expect any news this month. If they don't announce anything next month I'm gonna guess the beta got delayed.

You clearly don't know the PD way.

I know. I felt like a fucking idiot the moment I asked the question.

They will show GTS with PSVR in GDC (March 14-16)
Please! :(

GT4 was a year and a half late, GT6 was meant to have monthly track DLC.

The most recent 3 games were a shitshow for release dates so I'm expecting GTS to be too.
And GT PSP! Although it's not about delay, but the game was announced in 2004 and was released in 2009! 5.5 years for a PSP game.

Gran Turismo Aids NVIDIA’s Self-Driving Car Development Efforts

Silicon giant NVIDIA Corporation have revealed that their concerted efforts of developing self-driving cars has been aided by ‘The Real Driving Simulator’ itself, Gran Turismo.

When speaking at the ‘Automobiles, the Next Mobile Platform’ panel at this year’s DICE Summit, Sahin Kirtavit, Senior Director of Automotive Solutions at NVIDIA, predicts that the autonomous vehicles will hit the road “in the next few years.” Kirtavit goes on to explain that it was Gran Turismo’s game engine that helped aid in development of the self-driving simulations, while also contributing the visual fidelity necessary.

“We actually used the game engine two years ago to start our simulation effort and we figured out we needed more high fidelity graphics. The game engines have a lot that the simulator needs. I think game engines are extremely close to perfect simulators.”

Interestingly enough, it appears Kirtavit also estimates the rise of autonomous vehicles will be faster than many are anticipating or even expecting. Hands-off driving isn’t merely a temporary solution or an experience that requires monitoring: it’s no cruise control by any means. NVIDIA’s efforts are poised to offer a truly self-driving car, thanks in no small part to Gran Turismo. An offering that, once in effect, will allow more time for leisurely gaming.

“I think you’re going to see truly self driving cars—I’m not talking about cars that drive only thirty seconds and then gives control back to you—truly self-driving cars in the next few years on the road,” said Kirtavit. “And we are super excited that once the car drives itself, what you’re going to do is play games.”

NVIDIA has already had a hand in Volvo’s autonomous developments, as the Swedish car manufacturer intends to use the platform that will operate the self-driving car, the Drive PX 2. This platform is powered by the forthcoming next-generation Pascal GPU and 12 CPU cores capable of outputting 8 teraflops worth of raw processing power. The PX 2 platform is expected to make driving safer, according to Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang.

No matter how much we hate the rivalry, GT has been competing with Forza for some time now. With the rumor that Forza may be coming to PC, do any of you think that a real release of Forza on PC would have any effect on the GT franchise? On one hand, many people have one console and stick to the racer released on that platform. On the other hand, I feel that a lot of multiplatform gamers have either an Xbone and PC or PS4 and PC. For those that have the latter combo, would the pull of Forza be enough to stop them buying GT at all or would they get both?

Sorry if this is too derailing, but I figure if the scenario happens before GT Sport makes it out, it may cause a rift.

If GTS really is a tightly-focussed sim dripping with motorsport authenticity then I think it'll attract a very different fanbase to Forza's scattergun approach and semi-comedic content. The two would probably coexist even more happily than they have in the past and complement each other nicely.

In addition to what Mascot said, I also think that Forza on PC appeals to gamers who spend a lot on on their hobby and upgrade their graphics card every 2-3 years for over 300$. If they get to play Forza on PC and have a PS4, they will want GT too. The other way around - especially if some aspects of GTS will still be a little *unoverhauled* - some long time GT-fanboys might finally go out to get a hands on with the *other* game, which they were always trying to write off as this bro-gamer GT-clone that looks nice but doesn't know shit about cars and is made by M$ after all.

As an Ps4 owner, GT will be in the console as soon as it hits shelves,as pCARS was and AC will be, but on the other hand if Forza on PC is true, and allows the use of T500RS, I would seriously consider upgrading my PC to enjoy it as I love Forza series also. Also I don't care if it's better or worst then GT or pCARS or AC. I just want to race them all :). If Horizon also arrives to PC then I am sold (of course with the T500RS support). I am sucker for open world driving games, od course with decent physics (or current one).

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
I don't think it's GTS as someone in replied "GT7?" and he answered back with "I wish".

On the topic of cars, it's probably safe to say that the new Alpine will be in the game as Kaz attended the reveal last month

GDC is coming up, Sony are going to probably announce their VR launch date, GT Sport is probably the biggest VR game they will have, therefore....

Kaz gonna Kaz.

Well, yes...and he can now even point fingers at a lot of other devs including ND if GT:S release goes beyond spring.

I just can't believe, even with PD, that we are now in March 2016 and all we've had is the official announcement (seemed to be a last minute decision) and teaser trailer. Pathetic communication on their Facebook page too.

They can't even give a consistent Beta release window. Spring or early 2016 which gives them 6 months leeway, basically.

I'm sure in the end the game will mostly be amazing, but the wait and lack of information has been a shocker even for them and I see development problems more and more with other games this gen for a lot of devs and all systems.

I don't think this lack of info is any worse than the norm for PD.
