E3 begins in 100 days- what are we expecting?

We can expect it to be NOT as good as last year.

Real talk, I have no clue beyond the NX if Nintendo shows. Have they confirmed a stage presence?

Maybe a price for PSVR.

I want to believe in Crash there has just been too many hints it feels like that he's coming back, but I know that he won't appear or will appear in a form that will leave us all disappointed.

Btw. It's something Verendus may or may not have said but isn't there still an unnanounced jRPG in the works yet to be revealed? Or was it Ni no Kuni II and we're done?

My predictions... these are based on absolutely nothing other than my pessimistic hopes and dreams.

Microsoft:
We're getting an Xbox One hardware revision this year.

I think it's a little suspicious that Phil Spencer has all of a sudden started talking about this, with the familiar "no announcements at this time" line following shortly thereafter.

The timing is right—if not overdue, considering Microsoft's position. I think it'll probably be a digital-only box (so as to make the current system still relevant in the marketplace... the same way Apple does with its iPhones) with an internal SSHD. Slightly higher spec APU that will meet or exceed PS4. There's no way they won't get parity this time around.

They'll probably market it as "Oculus Ready" too, in order to boost it as a real differentiator from the existing model, even though I think any Oculus support will be pretty gimped at this price point.

Aside from that, Gears will be a big part of the event along with a big third-party exclusive win.

Sony:
VR blowout. Low price point (relatively speaking), thinking $399 barebones, $499 bundled with some special stuff.

Destiny will be there again too. Crash won't be.

Nintendo:

Nintendo Direct on the Sunday. Blowout press conference on the Monday.

Direct will focus on Wii U and 3DS for Q3. Conference is all about NX.

We'll hear a lot about the new console, its core focus and some new unprecedented partnerships from third-parties with a big exclusive deal from one of them.

However, I don't think we'll hear a thing about the NX portable. It'll fit into the NX ecosystem very nicely but I think their focus will be on the home console here.

Zelda gets a name, some gameplay, and a launch date coinciding with NX in November.

Some things missed in OP:

Probably GTA news, RDR 2 and Borderlands 3/other IP from Take Two
Probably Deus Ex
Probably more For Honor news

nbnt

is responsible for the well-being of this island.
I expect 4 to 6 boring new AAA sequel announcements.

I expect more small "experiences" and tech demos for the PSVR.

I expect Nintendo to repeat the same mistakes with the NX.

I expect nothing from Microsoft.

To tell you the truth I can no longer get excited about E3, I got what I wanted (TLG re-reveal) and triple A games are in a stagnant state of endless sequels.

For some reason I thought Criterion had been disbanded, didn't know they're still around and developing something. Would love to see a new, non open world Burnout.

Outside of that:

Crash Bandicoot Returns
A new 2D Metroid

I expect nothing other than NX being talked about. Been happy with most conferences the last few years I've been watching it. Nothing even feels like a disappointment year on year because not every year can be a home run.

People are grossly over-exaggerating Nintendos pull in the market.

I will go from publisher order like you did OP to keep my thoughts organized :).

Bethesda: More information on Doom alongside some post launch support announced for the title. I also expect Elder Scrolls Next-Gen to be announced for PS4/X1/PC alongside a live demo of Dishonored 2.

Sega: Sonic Anniversary to be announced at one of the press events (Sony, MS, Nintendo) alongside localization news of a few games (Project Diva X, Valkyrie Chronicles PS4 Spiritual Successor.....maybe PSO2 (not holding my breath on that one)).

Nintendo: All-out information dump for the NX, announced here. Information on the system, launch line up, and a few game announcements/partnerships with 3rd party detailed. Expect 3D Mario, Retro's New Game and a New IP to be announced alongside Zelda U and Pikmin 4 to be officially announced/detailed (official name, release dates, cross-gen, ect). NX system and handheld shown off to press with playable kits on the show floor.

Bandai-Namco: Digimon New World Order and Summon Night 6 announced for localization alongside solid release dates for a number of games (SAO Hollow Realization and God Eater come to mind). More news on Tekken, Ace Combat and officially unveiling Tekken X SF as a PS4/X1/NX/PC game.

Square Enix: Shows off a lot; more gameplay of FFVII Remake during own Press Event, FFXV shown off (if its not out yet), and Nier 2 shown off more. Other stuff will be announced/shown off but I expect that happening for Sony's event.

Konami: #FuckKonami

Activision: TMNT shown off (if not out yet) with another Platinum game announced (Spider-Man? Transformers Devastation 2?) at Sony's event alongside Call of Duty IW. Skylanders Six shown off during Nintendo's Event with Amiibo Support continued (Mario, Kirby, and Link added to the new game, alongside DK and Bowser Skylanders supported).

EA: Battlefront Season Pass shown off during Sony event, Titanfall 2 shown off during Microsoft's event (though Multiplatform), and Mirrors Edge shown off during Sony's event. New IP (ala Unraveled) announced.

Sony: God of War IV, Crash Bandicoot Returns and Sony Bend's New IP announced alongside showing off stuff from first (Ratchet, Uncharted, GT Sport, Horizon, Dreams, PS VR, ect) and third party (EA, Activision, Square Enix, Bandai-Namco, ect). Major third party content includes information on FFVII Remake & KH3 (New World(s) shown off; Frozen and Star Wars).

Microsoft: Support with Window's 10 detailed more with apps officially being added into the X1 OS, sequel to Sunset Overdrive announced/New IP with Insomniac announced, stuff announced detailed (Halo Wars, ect) and more new games announced.

Other: Indie projects like Shantae, Mighty No. 9, Bloodstained, Yooka-Laylee, Bikes & Knights, and more shown off with great detail (taking advantage of the E3 hype/attention).

Sony announces that all PS4's have been PS5's all along and a simple firmware upgrade unlocks the hidden 16 cores, brings all cores' clockspeed to 4.5 GHz, unlocks 16 more GBs of RAM and the GPU turns into a triple SLI 980TI.

All for free.

I'm expecting Microsoft to have a pretty good conference. Mostly looking forward to Forza Horizon 3.

I have a feeling Sony is going to drop more gigaton announcements, and Nintendo is obviously going to show off NX and Zelda U/NX. I just hope Nintendo's conference isn't bad like last year.

Can't wait to see what Sony Bend Studio is cooking. They're one of Sony's best 1st party studios. So underrated. I loved every game they made (excluding Omega Strain). Syphon Filter is one of my favourite IP's ever. Seeing them being back on the big screen (home console) with their own new IP..... man, I'm beyond hyped. Bring it, Sony Bend Studio!

Civilization 6 please

also quantic dream have not released anything yet for this generation other than remasters so I hope they have something to reveal at least.

I've never been good at pulling things from the air, but of the things I know. This is what I expect.

100% for Fall 16

Call of Duty 2016 (IW, expecting reboot of Modern Warfare property)
Battlefield 5 (WW1 shooter, with SP)
TitanFall 2(on PS4 with SP this time)
Watch Dogs 2 ( San Fran Hack Fest)
Mafia 3 (can't see this getting delayed anymore for better or worse)
Last Guardian(I doubt Sony would reannouce if not 100%)
Dues Ex MD(Already delayed)

>50% for Fall '16

Shadows of Mordor 2/Suicide Squad/Superman/WB Sony Exclusive(About time for this, the Batman games had a 2 year gap too,no idea what will change, maybe multi factions, if not SoM than something else, pick one)
Dishonored 2(no info still, could see this early spring 17)
Horizon (toss up, probably delayed)
South Park/Ghost Recon(both will be shown at E3, but I feel only one will release or neither will this fall)

Not complete. Just focused on bigger releases.

Because his hands are spaced so far apart.

Pretty much this. Shawn pulled a Hasimoto only this time it's obvious.

I mean, in a world of FF7R, Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian, Ni no Kuni 2, Nier 2...? I am a complete believer.

One thing I've been thinking about it the importance of Nintendo's conference/direct happening prior to the other conferences, specifically Ubisoft's and the potential of exclusive NX titles being revealed there (Such as Beyond Good & Evil 2, for instance). We'll need to know what the NX is before anyone else can talk about their NX titles, and as such, Nintendo going last or near the back of the pack is only an option if the worst case scenario is true and none of the third parties are showing any NX titles.

Because his hands are spaced so far apart.

Me and my friends do a podcast and we're recording an episode while we watch the E3 conferences. We're all huge Crash fans so if a new game is announced the entire episode is going to be full of screams of happiness lol
