Am I crazy or is the character to the right of Mai (on the Women Fighters Team) a CG render?
Some of the art for the other characters seems a little inconsistent too..

Those were likely for internal use only.
The character art in the actual showcased builds of the game is completely different from those.

Overall, I think I'm most interested in the China team, the youth protag in particular (which I'm guessing is the one on the left of Tung). The initial leak detailed him having some sort of demon power? I'm curious to see his full design and fighting style. Also, are those headphones he's wearing?
Not my first KoF but I feel the same way. I'd really like to see this game turn out amazing and become a large pillar in the FGC from sheer word of mouth from fans. SNK is one of the most influential in the genre and KoF is my favorite fighting game series, so I think it's well deserved

Like BadWolf said, 12 characters are completely new, 5 are existing SNK characters that are new to KoF (honestly the two characters joining Nakoruru on the Another World Team might as well be new since they're from Japan only Pachinko/Mobile games).

Cannot be more excited for this game, especially in a gen where we have these roster weak fighting games coming out.
A big roster gives someone like me huge replayablity, as I like to be more of a "jack of all trades, master of none" player.

We'll see if that's permanent.
The main thing about the new boss is that his powers are apparently able to screw with the fabric of reality, which is the main reason why the likes of Nakoruru are here in the first place.
There's already loose talk about bringing back the New Face Team (Chris, Yashiro, Shermie) through DLC and use this backdrop as a means to loop them back into the mix. I wouldn't be surprised if Ash can utilize a similar means to come back. Not to mention that "Dragon Power" storyline (Kensou, etc.) is slated to get underway, which would mean Ron and the Flying Brigands will likely start appearing more. Which means Duo Lon likely won't be far behind...

I'm assuming the young guy on the China Team will be the new hero. Doesn't look bad from far away, I'm getting a bit of a Persona vibe from him. Kim's teacher looks pretty rad too. I like a lot of the new characters, even if they're placeholders. I just hope that the models end up holding up. The ones so far have been really hit-or-miss. Even after the touch ups some like Kyo look awful.

You guys want Team USA Sport back, get on the program and make KoF big again, South America in general, Mexico and China literally got teams in this one for our loyalty to KoF, you want yer team? earn it!

Speaking of which, is there even another married couple in fighting games before these too?
Not counting fighting game adaptations of other properties, since the likes of Krillin and C18 would qualify.
Maybe when people stop complaining about the graphics - the trump card will not be wasted before its optimal moment, I suspect.
For all we know, those two are more likely to use guns instead of fighting, and would hake 2 slots, which is too much for a team with Geese and Billy.
Some people go medieval on opponents - THE KING OF DINOSAURS goes even more primal than that!

Well said. I'm very optimistic considering SNK's trying to make the game stand out with its HUGE roster compared to its competition, that and a supposed Anime and Live Action series in the works. I feel like KoF has been the Doctor Who to Street Fighter's Star Trek and XIV could very well be the equivalent of the 2005 reboot which really made it into the geek phenomenon it is today. Here's hoping!
I just hope to see more people mentioning SNK stuff and have it NOT be about Attack on Titan.
