It's as likely to be real as not real so your authoritative tone is the only thing that's bizarre.
None of us know the truth.
The accuracy rate of "leaked" hardware pictures suggests this is not a 50/50 proposition.

It could easily end up like the WiiU for all we know.People will look back at this thread and laugh just like we laugh at the Wii Remote reveal now.
Don't worry. It won't get any modern mainstream games.Seriously though, the more I'm seeing it the more I'm sure it's fake.
How are you going to limit a console by having two analog sticks + paddles + emulated buttons?
You can't play pretty much any modern mainstream game/Nintendo game for that matter.
Or maybe will laugh at it like at the wiiu. Could go both ways.People will look back at this thread and laugh just like we laugh at the Wii Remote reveal now.
I know I'm way off but it reminds me of the rocks from Dragon Quest XI footage. Even if this is legit, I don't think there would be any reason why some random developer that I'm assuming to be from the west to have access to a build of one of the biggest Japanese IPs.

wait
is the screen on the controller?

I cant imagine Nintendo leaving the dpad behind though. They make plenty of 2d games and have historically valued accurate controls.
Have you used a controller with paddles? It's like cheat codes.Using that as a screen? You wouldn't even be able to see anybody lol. I can't tell if you're trolling or serious here
You guys are looking at it from the wrong angle:
The analogs don't look so photoshopped when placing the image vertically.
Come on! In 2016 and people are still doing this? lol
Snap on cover could work, but it's irrelevant if it's not bundled with the system.OK tech NeoGAF, would a snap on type cover featuring real buttons, directional pad(s) and triggers work with the haptics?
I wonder why always a pic in these supposedleaks? Video is every bit as easy to capture and takes the same amount of effort as a picture only you have to stand there maybe 5-10 seconds. That being said, I don't think this is real.
Haptic feedback =/= emulated buttons. If you feel a click, it's legit.
I know I'll be wrecking XB1 owners in COD, probably at some coffee shop somewhere.
Playing a game on keyboard and mouse is a whole different ballgame than playing with emulated buttons on the middle of the screen.I played Mario Galaxy with a keyboard and mouse and tied the shake function to the wheel. come at me.
Nintendo will taylor their own games to the hardware. They will make new games that make use of this thing the way Mario Galaxy and Splatoon did their respective consoles.
lol I mean I guess.Don't worry. It won't get any modern mainstream games.
Or maybe will laugh at it like at the wiiu. Could go both ways.
The non-standard approach to this totally goes against the rumor that the NX is aimed at being able to play games at the same level as the Xbone.
There is absolutely no way someone is going to be playing CoD, Sports games, etc. with having to rely with emulated buttons that are to the bottom-left of the right thumb stick.
And if they aren't emulated buttons, why does the display blow out/make the button hard to see?
I see a b button and shoulder buttons
what if it's also a touch screen? You guys are looking at it from the wrong angle:
The analogs don't look so photoshopped when placing the image vertically.
Paddles.Using an actual screen with haptic feedback you mean? Wouldn't that be the same as using a phone with haptic feedback on emulated buttons?
Also have a hard time thinking you're going to be doing CoD as you wrap your hands around the controller, constantly getting your hand of the analog stick, pressing the middle of the screen where your gameplay/map is all jammed in.
It just seems completely unbelievable.

I keep using the phone as an example but let's use the Vita.
Now make the Vita a huge Oval not designed to have round edges for your hands.
Now imagine your buttons and d-pad in the middle of the screen.
Now imagine your gameplay being emulated over the area where you are hovering your fingers/ hitting those buttons.
See how unreasonable it is?
The types of games I see running on that "controller" are Ouya/Android level. I can't see any of their recent games even remotely being comfortable/viable. No amount of reworking entire games is going to change that.
And blocking third-parties like that is going to lead to a console less touched than the Wii U.
lol I mean I guess.
It just seems more impossible than it does seem a "stupid decision"
I would be shocked if it's real. Looks awful IMO
Has Nintendo every had pictured hardware leaks like this that ended up being true?
You got a chuckle out of me lolIf they show that, they're never going to give Wii U up.
Dang, I had to Google this.Mac of course.... Just ask Paul Rudd.
Never gets old for meCome on! In 2016 and people are still doing this? lol
New vs old really doesn't matter that much as long as it's good. This controller is bad.Reactions to this (fake) are interesting. Seems a lot of people just want more of the same shit, just new. I shouldn't be surprised I guess.
As always with NX, I'll wait patiently for official unveiling.

Artsy Omni said:NOPE. I call fake. This is clearly completely based on the patents that were filed, but the person who made this seems to have not noticed that the controller depicted in the patent had grips on it. Also, that "program often used to tell if an image has been Photoshopped" didn't find anything amiss with the Rayman "leak." Just saying. =P
Add to that the fact that there seems to be no glass or plastic surface on the display which would be evidenced by screen parallax the edges of the screen. Also, no evidence of screen moiré, which is typical of a photo of a screen like this. The freeform Sharp displays (which is what Nintendo would be using) photographed at comparable angles show significant screen moiré.
Sure it has "paddles" but how does that make a difference when you're playing any of the games I was talking about?Paddles.
I guess, but even with physical buttons on an overlay, that positioning is going to be super awkward to play games.well I'm not vouching for the realness of this leak because it's hella fake
but lets say the next Nintendo controller does have a face that's entirely screen.
You put a couple of physical buttons on the thing and they're gonna have to be clear. Better yet, unlabeled, with the game producing labels for each button on the screen. That way you can have a traditional label layout for your button (abxy) or more easily understood 'casual' layouts ("jump", diagonal across X&Y/"run", diagonal across A&B). Not to mention potential extra touch buttons as needed using the rest of the nearby screen space. so if the leak in the OP were legit, the buttons are difficult to see because there's no 'background' for the button being applied on the screen, just the label of the button directly over some other graphics
