NX Controller Rumor [Up5: Original was fake, and thus this is too]

What's the point of an expensive component then?

Well I mentioned them being used as Wii remotes, the shape seems to fit that idea. If they're used normally like a regular controller they could still stream to it. How much power that would take and how well it's designed around that, I have no clue about of course.

I would much rather just have that area black. I really hate when news stations use the blur effect.
We only use it because we're told to so we can fill the screen. We get video thats 480p and we have to add wings. I hate when some stations don't do it then I have to clean up their trash.

Not sure if it's already been done, but here's my contribution.

(Also, note the trees.)

That controller just doesn't make sense.
Why would they want the screen to be shaped like that? It adds nothing to the experience.

I really hope it's fake.

Another crappy photoshop job but if this is backwards compatable with Wii U games I hope that they build something in the system that displays a blurred version of the gameplay in the background of the gameplay window, similar to what the news stations do with video recorded vertically on a phone.

I don't see how that would be helpful or immersive. Seems like a waste of processing power. I'd rather just have black/nothing.

It isn't. It's too early for him to know SKU's and what will be bundled with the system - the pack-ins were even changed last minute for the Wii, I believe.

You're right...but I still hope Nintendo will deliver the goods. I'm amazed all at the negative reactions without anyone having experienced the controller. Tbh...I was sceptic about the steam controller...until I tried it ( took some adjusting, but was way better than I expected )

TeamFake. That one tweet from that one guy and the subsequent post here of another guy saying he proved it being fake convinced me.

I thought it was already known that the NX releasing first would be the handheld, and the console that the handheld somehow interacts with would be released later. In which case this wouldn't be the 'controller' but a standalone handheld.

Nope. You got it backwards, as far as rumors go. At leas, I think? Now I'm second-guessing everything

I guess I'll just never buy another Nintendo console again. I don't have a Wii U because it's way too expensive for what it is thanks to its controller
(and lack of games, honestly)
and this looks like it has the potential for more of the same. Why lol.

there is nothing that can get neogaf as riled up as nintendo news. We keep talking about them being irrelevant, but fuck dat choo choo hype train loves to ride the nintendo railroads.

No, it wouldn't make sense to have people go out and buy additional expensive screen controllers for multiplayer when it doesn't even use it's distinctive feature at all. No company (not even Nintendo) is this stupid, and no consumer will actually do this. What they will do, instead, is actually use the Wii Remote itself. Again.

No bald cap? Lies!
Is there any indication how much more expensive, if at all, a screen of that shape and with those kind of holes would be compared to a normal square or rectangular screen?

I can't imagine at all that that is really cheap or cost effective.

Putting my vote that if this really is somewhere in Sweden it's with an EA studio, because I think Nintendo would want to get their dev kits out to their friends at EA for a possible Battlefield 5 launch title, or something of that nature.
