I feel like it has been the craziest non-E3 week on GAF since before the PS4 / XB1 launches.

It has been exciting as fuck, and I'm really, really interested to see where the console industry goes from here.

If it is real, which it appears to be, it's pretty amazing to see such a blatant leak. Have we even gotten pictures of anything like this before? Vita maybe? I can't remember.

After the unpopular WiiU setup of a touchscreen on the controller I'm hesitant to believe Nintendo continue down that path.

Things change in development. They might think "Oh hey, this looks really cool!", and the prototype will have it. But then they'll realize they should remove it for some reason X. This happens a lot in tech companies.

If this thing:

A) has haptic feedback and that raised touch screen tech

or

B) allows for "add-ons" including handles with a set of normal buttons

I'll be okay with this thing.

NWR does the "cat" thing when the information they're passing along has not met their standards and they're not willing to put their reputation behind the story.

I'm on team real for now. If this is the fake, it's gotta be one of the most elaborate hardcore hoaxes we've seen for something like this in quite some time.

Do I WANT it to be real? Undecided. I'll reserve judgement until we know/see more.

Occasional Nintendo Life contributor Liam Robertson has passed us some information from a source that has access to prototype hardware for the 'NX'. They've advised that the images 'aren't legit', and we're certainly inclined to have faith in that source. Of course, as is the nature with rumours they are all to be taken with a grain of salt.
