NX Controller Rumor [Up5: Original was fake, and thus this is too]

I know it's a dev kit version (if it's real) and not final, but I really, really hope that it's just there for devs to make sure their games display properly on the controllers because that looks ridiculously uncomfortable to game with and Nintendo is like the absolute master or ergonomic controllers. It needs side grips. Gamecube style.

Also I don't have a problem with not having physical buttons (thought I would prefer them) but I cannot imagine playing something like Smash Bros on a controller like this. It'd be like playing it on a smart phone. Awful.

You would use the features though, just not in certain games requiring whatever modes they thought of. But regardless, dragging out that old muck seems unlikely though, BUT POSSIBLE, sure. Or at the very least, new Wii remotes exclusive to NX so the motion plus thing isn't an issue.

What new feature? The entire point of it is to have the screen on the controller. Having "haptic feedback buttons" isn't worth $450 for a consumer to have a blank screen not being used.

These last days have been crazy on GAF. The amount of denial has gone through the roof with the Microsoft upgradable consoles, PS4.5 and these two NX threads.

It's fine to be sceptic. but when you scream "faaake" without any proof for it, go check your feelings.
You need to prove it's real not that it's fake.

Oh dear. At least it'll be an interesting system if true. But I fear for the limitations the lack of standardized inputs like d-pad and facebuttons could bring.

To be fair, I still don't believe it.

Guys, guys... I posted this... TREE MONTHS AND TREETY DAYS AGO

I think you guys are forgetting the dual ecosystem.

They aren't naming one device or system. They are most likely going to be naming the handheld which acts as a console controller, and the console, in step with each other, creating a sense of symbiosis.

They will most likely be announced together, and sold together, but must be able to be clearly referred to individually.

So they need a pair of names that somehow link up, but can be broken apart clearly.

They will most likely eschew the use of the word Nintendo as that can be a limiting factor. It needs to sound mature and classic but also fresh and innately Nintendoish. The "ii" spelling could be a good way to sound like Nintendo and also link up with amiibo and miitomo.

For example, ignoring the ridiculousness:
Palm (handheld)
Trii (console)

Palm-Trii

They will announce the system as one because the goal is for people to buy both, and presumably one to feel incomplete without the other. So it needs a system name that works the best when together as a whole, but not too much so!

"And now, here at Nintendo, we would like to show you how we are going to our roots. Pack your trunks, and log your notes... because with innovation in mind, we are proud to introduce the Nintendo Trii"

*claps and applause*

"With the Nintendo Trii, the experience is in the palm of your hand"

"Now, we understand your concerns. No buttons? While you may be tempted to take it or leaf it, we believe the innovation will speak for itself. We do not see Trii as a third pillar, but a brand new branch in our forest of quality hardware, and evergreen sense of innovation, unlike our more wooden competitors who are pining for something new."

The system will have to support a classic controller.

NWR put up a new edition of Rumor Cats about the controller and IIRC they're another "insider who likes to play in riddles", like they talked about the Paper Mario rumor prior basically saying it was true IIRC, but other examples happened IIRC but I don't remember examples at the top of my head.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/feature/42335/rumor-cats-nx-controller-edition

Short summary; bogus.

On the contrary, this only serves to prove how real it is.

Didn't they also parrot the same Star Fox Zero delay rumors as Liam?

Usually when these types of devices are turned on, there's a little water mark in the screen used to identify the specific device. You know, the one where Nintendo allocates set X of IDs to partner Y, and then partner Y has their list of employees associated with each ID. You know so it can actually identify the leaker.

You can cover the watermark with a tape or something.

Weren't there people in the first thread about the leaked controller images swearing the images were photoshopped based on their personal/professional experiences with images?

Not saying these are fake, they certainly look real to me. Just wondering if the first images we saw were shopped or not.
