Why would the confidential sticker be on the side and not on the back of the controller where it would have the full model number, Nintendo logo ect. The confidential sticker looks like it's coming off too and made with a label maker.
No buttons, no worries coz there's clearly gunna be buttons. No buttons, no way.
This is why Seinfeld should still be on NBC today with new episodes. It's leaving the public consciousness for some and causing nothing but pain and frustration. Come on, NBC!
Maybe there's a Nintendo-branded sticker on the devkit proper? Do devkit controllers usually have those stickers?
Which finally explains the lack of buttons. Because how can you press them when you have to hold the controller while wearing these......
Just remember guys... it's not going to look exactly like this. It hasn't even been publicly revealed yet...
Heres the Wii / WiiU / NDS first public shots and actual launch products:
Theres probably more nintendo examples.
Basically, the NX is gunna look alot slicker come launch day.
How many consoles do you think Nintendo released in the last five years? The 3DS had a rough start but is doing fine, and the Wii was obviously and undeniably a success. The Wii U has been their sole misstep, and even that has a great library at least.
I wasn't really focusing on weight and feel of the product with my previous post, I was referring more to the general design and layout with those examples. And under that context I'm not really expecting anything radically different with the final NX product, especially considering how identical it it is to the published patent as it stands, in regards to the shared fundamental concepts.
These look cool, but it really is U 2.0
I don't understand what you are trying to say here.
This is a joke post, right? A touchscreen isn't new, and it's demonstrably worse than buttons. No, no, no.Specially since it decides to be new instead of using an archaic way of playing games for 20 years.
We haven't even seen it in action.
If Nintendo has a better solution than physical buttons, let them at least show it off.
."This Vita is great, but what I need is more screen and no buttons"
- Someone, according to Nintendo
You mean the proof-of-concept stuff that has been shown at CES for a long time but has still failed to gain traction in any consumer devices as of yet?
Just yesterday it was 'advanced haptics' that would revolutionize the NX inputs. Tomorrow it'll be some other obscure patent dug up and filtered through Nintendo dream glasses.
Fact is, none of these technologies will ever hope to achieve the tactility and accuracy of a physical button. I mean, this thing doesn't even have a D-pad. You think soft gel bubbles are a suitable replacement? Seriously? They come with huge drawbacks.
you said, regarding NX, "A bigger flop than the Wii U incoming." You call that speculation? Sounds like a factual statement lol.
I'm guessing more plastic accessories are indeed incoming. ;^)
Did some quick mocks...
But like, both of these would be better on your HD TV without buttons in the way.
It seems that the controllers don't have any kind of stickers on them, but I really can't find a good shot of the pre-release devkit controllers.
I did notice that all of the shots that I found of the development kit have a box sticking out of the top of the Wii U. I'm assuming that's for video, right? The leaked pictures don't have that.

But like, both of these would be better on your HD TV without buttons in the way.
Yea, I don't remember quotes from a show that was 15 years ago that I didn't watch religiously.
My bad.
My initial anger came from people who are actual dev's just adding to the hysteria, and I guess GAF loves it?
So I guess shame on me for not knowing GAF loves this. Hype threads for E3 are similar but usually we all are having pipe dreams with nothing to go on. So we are all being silly and unrealistic for just the sake of having fun.
I need to just step away from this for a while and NX threads in general until actual real sources, or announcements start hitting.
But like, both of these would be better on your HD TV without buttons in the way.
At this point in time, Nintendo's weird hardware is not needed. There is an onslaught of VR hardware coming that is both unique and actually practical unlike most Nintendo's innovations. Nintendo usually offers a breath of fresh air with stagnant hardware design but now way this can compete with VR.
I wish Nintendo would just become a software company.
Then why is there primary screen stuff on it in that example 😔It's a good thing people are reporting that this is a controller and not a primary screen, then.
All the sources suggest it's not the portable. And if it's just going like that on the controller, that's a huge waste of processing power. I don't know, that just looks pointless and dumb.I mean the fact the controller has a screen doesn't mean it won't be on your tv. Unifying handheld and console has been talked about for quite some time. What if this is just the mobile portion of the NX?
No worries. I probably could have posted a pic knowing how tense these threads can get.
To me, GI and Sean have given enough independent sources to verify these 2 independent leaks as legit. Robertson's source seems to be running damage control the same way that Nintendo unofficially denied Trev's release schedule leak anonymously. In a way, it sucks that NX had to be revealed this way, but this isn't the full picture, I am sure. There should still be some surprises to come.
These technologies are fine at trying to emulating the feel of a button... but these are meant for devices you don't expect to have buttons. Not only they're not as accurate as buttons, it's also expensive. But the point is to bring buttons where there shouldn't be buttons for other uses.
But in that controller case ?? It makes no sense. 2 dollars buttons does a shitton better job than this. Putting this in a controller is an expensive way to try to fix something that was never broken and worked better before your attempt at fixing it.
Does the idea of attachments being released for it, from a company that ALWAYS released attachments sound crazy to you?Yes, if it has a controller like what we are seeing, then I think it surely will be. Do you really think the Nintendo diehards are going to accept no buttons or a d-pad? How about the Xbox and PS crowd? What does that leave... the phone market?
But of course let us wait and see, as I have said. I am hoping for the best.
Doesn't have face buttons doesn't mean it won't have buttons.
Perhaps they have 2 sensitive triggers round the back like the XONE pro
