Crouch block a lot, even half screen+ away. Lot of them throw out yolo slides. I think blocked divekicks are pretty punishable. Neutral jumps work well against him as well.

Omen and Shago are the bane of my existence so far. Fortunately Omens are really rare online
Thanks. The bold part... I really have to get used to crouch blocking. It isn't as intuitive with a controller as it is with an arcade stick to me.

Wait for them to make the first move. The majority of Shagos moves are incredibly unsafe if blocked and can only be made safe if they have shadow meter so try to either deprive them of meter or bait them into wasting it somehow.
They have said there will be a new multiplayer mode coming this season, so it's possible.
There is something called Trials in the "Master" section of Singleplayer

As fun as this game is, I can't justify spending 50$ on it until I know the online crashing is gonna get fixed. It's so annoying, it basically turns into a crapshoot on whether I'll actually get to play someone.

The game has a werewolf, mummy, golem, ghost, and now a vampire. I really hope the final character is a Van Helsing style monster/vampire hunter

Maybe not exactly what you were looking for but one of TJ Combo's alternate sets makes him look like Blade.
Omen is awesome. Fighting against him? Just use projectile invulnerable moves to get past the fireballs, and use anti-airs when he flies in. I love seeing Omen players panic when you start taking their BnB setups away.

I'm not really having much trouble with Omens, I just think he's a bad character in every way. Shitty design, gimmicky moveset, no story, no costumes, boring accessories. I know he's a bonus character, but I still don't understand why they even bothered with him. Now that Shago was given the real character treatment Omen feels more out of place in the roster than ever. He was never needed, his sole purpose was to tease Gargos for the future and nothing else.
I think his gameplay is interesting. It's about managing randomness. Very unique in the cast.
Granted, his "look" is terrible. I hate the mask and he should be bulkier.
If you think Omen's move set is gimmicky then I got a bridge to sell you.

Only about half.Much sadness.
The lack of an .exe and folder, as well as the lack of .dll interception is making the usual tricks for getting direct input to work correctly impossible.
My Titan X @ 1429 mhz core gets 1040/1000 in the benchmark with everything maxed @ 4K.
Does this game support 4k?
I downloaded yesterday the free client for W10 but the resolution didn't go higher than 1080p even tough it was connected to my 4k TV.
Also, is it possible to do slow ultras like in KI2? (on KI2 you needed to input the command twice to get the slow version)
And pity about the lack of fighting stick support.

If you are downsampling to reach 4K, you need to set your desktop resolution to 4K first. It is a problem with all Win10 games through the UWP.
Downsampling does not work in the traiditional sense. Yes, it is annoying.
Truly it fits the character.
No down sampling, is connected directly to my 4k tv,.
Maybe I have to unplug my main monitor first? that one is 1080p
Ever since ranking up to Silver I'm facing nothing but MUCH more skilled people who are qualifying. This is awful.
Everyone is 50/50, and no matter what anyone says that at least correlates to a ton of time spent playing.
Whoever authorized the ranking reset is on my shit list. It worked perfectly before that. Everyone was ranked properly. In the game's current form there is essentially no matchmaking, and that's an awful way to kick off a new season with an influx of new players.

I think flip out is one of the best mechanics in the game. The resets are so dirty it's wonderful to watch.

I'm a nub, what's flip out? Is it quick recovery after getting hit?

Certain moves flip the enemy and puts them back on their feet so you can start another combo.
I downloaded this recently and I'm addicted to it but i am sooooo bad. Think that's expected though since I haven't played a fighting game since the SNES Combo assist really is helping me ease in and the tutorials were pretty helpful as well although I haven't done too much of the dojo stuff.
I haven't gotten into ranked matches at all yet but so far online I think I'm right around a 25% winrate. FeelsBadMan
Anyway I think my biggest problem right now is that I like to bounce around to all of the characters when really I should probably be learning their moves 1 by 1 and spending a little more time with each before moving on....

Who's an easier character to pick up and be relatively competent with quickly, TJ or Tusk? I'm doing well with Thunder (just hit gold yesterday) but that's mostly on sheer fighting game fundamentals. I'm not too great with mixing up combo chains or breaking yet, but I'm pretty good at spacing and mixups, and I could use a sub to fool around with.

I think TJ is, good speed, good damage, plays more like other fighting game characters. Tusk is weird to me though, I havent been able to understand his flow at all yet.
