Rumor: Horizon: Zero Dawn delayed to early 2017

GDC gave me a little hope that it was coming this year, but I still had that gut feeling...

I switched to an alt account to ditch my embarrassing tag so I could be an embarrassing Naughty Dog fanboy in peace. Ask me anything!
So delayed for PS4k mode? Meh.

Where are people getting this? It was delayed because it is not ready on the PS4. I do not think Shinobi's comment on it looking beautiful in PS4K has anything to do with the delay? The game was suspected to be delayed the day it was announced at a 2016 title.

Well that sucks, after UC4 that was the only AAA PS4 exclusive I was looking forward to.

Reading stuff like this makes me scared for my PS4. If I get a steady 30 fps from future games then PS4K can have all the bells and whistles.

It's gonna be interesting.

Game has been in development for years as a PS4 title and Guerrilla is competent with tech. I don't think there's much to worry about for first party exclusive games on either PS4 version for at least a couple years.

So Sony "won" last E3 with Horizon, FF7, TLG and Shenmue 3. None are out. None look to be out anytime soon. Shouldn't at least some of the games have to come out before the next E3 for a system to "win" an E3? Otherwise a company could just keep making shit up to get the buzz but then never produce.

Why is Sony first party support so abysmal? Last year the only significant titles I remember from them were Bloodborne, Until Dawn, and the Gravity Rush port. This year they've got Uncharted and...Last Guardian maybe?

I don't get it. It's a real good thing they have third party support like Ni Oh, Nier 2, and FF15 (Although several of those might not make this year either) to somewhat make this year better than last for PS4 owners.

In an open world game like this there is no doubt that the PS4 version will see some drops, while PS4K won't, high chances for that.

Still I'm sure it will perform fine on PS4, just not locked like it might be on PS4K.

So out of all of Sony's release slate from E3 2015, what came out that year, what's coming out within the next year, and what got pushed back?

Because it's sounding more and more like Nintendo ended up having the best E3 in terms of games that actually came out in a reasonable timeframe. I'm looking at the known release date schedule and when it comes to games exclusively on the PS4 (also counting Vita dual releases) the only ones I'm interested in are Uncharted 4 and the Psycho-Pass game, and I'm not even really an Uncharted fan to begin with.

And this is looking out all the way through October too, not just the next couple months.
What you like or don't like doesn't really speak to game output.

You too can have a megahype E3 conference and "win E3" if you announce all of your most notable games that will come out within the next three years at once.

Sony is going to have a hard time winning E3 this year.

A game gets delayed and you're thinking about some silly trade show pissing contest? Wow

Good with me honestly. It's been too quiet since it was revealed last E3. But again this is fine and I have no issues with Sony not releasing a big game in the fall. Too many other games fill that void.

I mean Gears, Uncharted, No Mans Sky, DE: Mankind Divided, FFXV, Titanfall 2, BF5, and I still need to get through DS3 and Ratchet and my backlog. I'm good.

A new IP like this should get the benefit of not releasing in a packed Q4.

Sony has kinda been doing this for a long time though. Surprised more people don't notice.

I am sure those games will never come out too.

Well, in terms of first party content for this year -

Gravity Rush Remastered
Gravity Rush 2
MLB The Show 16
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted 4
The Last Guardian

I wouldn't call that abysmal.

What difference does it make? People want to see games at E3 and yes Sony has won E3 in the past. Doesn't matter if the games aren't out. it showcases games on the horizon (no pun intended). This year we've gotten MLB: The Show, Ratchet, with UC4 and No Mans Sky coming out literally within months of each other.

I really wish I had more faith in TLG or Gravity Rush 2 coming out this year.

MS has too

They've even announced a couple games with CG trailers and canceled them. E3's always a fun ahow but you have to know what to expect.
Let's not leave Nintendo out. They've done their fair share of this as well. It comes with the program. We don't have to like it but I wouldn't make it out to be something unique to any one company within the industry.

The only exclusive PS4 games coming out between now and October are Uncharted 4, Shadow of the Beast (a remake of a game from 1989), and Alienation (a 15-20 dollar or so downloadable only shmup).

Other than those, the only exclusive title so far this year that even approaches notable is a Neptunia game.
