They don't even give 20% off on new releases like they do in the states.
If they did I would get the subscription but atm I guess if I need anything that's locked to Prime members only I can get my friend to order it to me
Weird. It's as if people don't like being called out to clarify their positions on their non-arguments, especially when they realize they've become completely detached from the actual topic. I'd post a clever reaction GIF but I suppose it'd be wasted bandwidth for everyone else.
Just drop it already.
Pretty stupid on Amazon UK's part to paywall stuff like this (also didn't this start happening to Amazon USA recently, albeit not on a large scale). It's almost as if they think they have customers by the balls, which according to a lot of the posts I'm seeing here, is hilariously off-point.
It was only a matter of time before Amazon started doing something like this.
It's like every major corporation has to go through a phase of being arseholes by seeing how far they can push things at some point in their existence.
For the sake of avoiding derailment, could you phrase this in the form of something applying to the topic?
It's at a much larger scale by virtue of applying to non-video games as well.
This has been happening for awhile, and not just for videogames. We've had threads here and there's tons of people defending it.
http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/gta_5..._members_from_buying_certain_video_games.htmlUPDATE: Amazon has provided VideoGamer.com with the following statement in response to this story:
"One of the many benefits of Amazon Prime is access to exclusive selection on a number of great products. Customers who are not Prime members can sign-up for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, or they can purchase those items from a Marketplace seller."

Okay, well just because Amazon ship it to you and it's in a warehouse owned by them doesn't mean you're buying it directly from them. The topic at hand is talking specifically about Amazon and THEIR stock. It's not a difficult concept and the information in the OP is accurate.

Wrong thread?!
It isn't new to the UK either. It is new to us and it's not clickbaity, it's flat out fucking wrong. I don't give a shit if it was in other countries before, it doesn't stop it being incredibly shitty now.
Now if it was "Games such as Star Fox with a metascore of 72 are blocked from non-prime members", it would be a different conversation.
Wow what the fuck amazon
As a Prime member currently (discounted price, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered - I certainly don't get £80 worth of use out of it) - no Amazon, that is not a "benefit".
It isn't new to the UK either.
That much is even said in the article - "Amazon has extended it's...". It's been done on other items before.
And also your final line is a silly argument.
If you believe their move is wrong then it is wrong no matter the game.

I would hope if that was an option available to you, you wouldn't have arbitrarily stuck with Amazon despite it.
So you're saying there would be no distinction from these statements?
Amazon [UK] blocks non-Prime members from buying certain video games
and
Amazon [UK] blocks non-Prime members from buying certain video games directly from Amazon
Are there not posts in this thread under the impression that people from the UK literally can't purchase certain games on Amazon?

it actually relates to returning or replacement of products too. it works differently if it's fulfilled by amazon, and bought from amazon. i received a watch from a "fulfilled by" seller that wasn't what i ordered, but i couldn't replace it, i had to send it back for a refund...then rebuy it. at which point the price had increased.
if that watch had been bought direct from amazon i could have replaced it for the original price i paid.
Amazons response
Sorry I forgot threads live and die by thread titles alone because people can't be bothered to read all the information at hand. Stop getting so hung up on the thread title, which isn't clickbait by the way. Go look at some actual clickbait headlines and take note of the differences.
lol.
I mean lol.
The only response fitting is lol.
Noticed this on a few things recently. They're often quite discounted as well though.
Amiibo too! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014VIKY5W/
I'd love to know why prime in the UK is £79 a year yet prime in Japan is only £24 a year that's a huge difference. Thankfully i don't buy domestic games so Amazon UK can't do shit to bother me. I'll start been more concerned when Japan follows suit but seeing as Japan is it's own entity compared to the rest of Amazon i'm not too worried.
I thought it'd be worth more credit to the article writer than just saying it was wrong as they did the due diligence to realize the title taken literally wouldn't be correct themself.
It includes it, but I bet if Amazon offered an option with just Prime delivery, the amount of subscribers to "full" Prime would plummet. I have Prime currently but I barely ever watch anything on Prime Video, I certainly wouldn't miss it.Amazon prime UK includes lovefilm/prime video, that streaming service is £72+ a year if you looked at Netflix or whatever as an alternative
Is that the same in Japan?
Wow. They actually went full Microsoft PR on us.
Boom! Absolutely. It includes it, but I bet if Amazon offered an option with just Prime delivery, the amount of subscribers to "full" Prime would plummet. I have Prime currently but I barely ever watch anything on Prime Video, I certainly wouldn't miss it.
