So I played the demo for 20 minutes, decided I wanna buy the game.
Should I play the full demo first? How long is it? Is it a narrative prequel to the game? I know there are a few bonuses unlocked from the demo, how vital are they?

Any spoilers in this? just trying to be safe lol
Just to warn you, if you haven't played default, literally the first thing that bravely second does is spoil all the major narrative points of that game in the cutscene immediately as you start the game.
just hit chapter 3
so
is the second half uh
is it like BD where people said half but I did chapters 5-8 between lunch and dinner? Or no, being done with chapter 2 means I'm only a quarter way through?
(assuming it follows the same chapter format considering you get 1/2 jobs and theres blue chests )
There aretotal chapters.6The second part of the game only begins after chapter 4.
is it still like 5hr total instead of the majority?
I haven't finished the game yet,but there are several new (and returning) dungeons before the final dungeon.
Twists everywhere in this game. I really can't figure out why some people prefer the originals story.
The story is executed better in BS, but I prefer the tone of BD over this game. Too many anime cliches and flanderization of Edea's eating obsession. BD is more reserved and there's a more urgent attitude to the story. The later half of BD is poorly executed, but the first half is still great.
Anyone?Any tips against the astrologer?

Every time they're talking about the Ba'als, I feel like there's some tongue-in-cheek shenanigans by the game's localizers at work. "Ba'al busters?" "Ba'al skin?" Come on.
Played 8 hours of this game yesterday and I'm really enjoying it.
I'm probably about halfway into Chapter 2 and I'm trying to figure out how to make Catmancer usable. Tiz is doing fine using Fencer skills, but I want some of those sweet monster skills.
I haven't found a lot of use for Spellcraft, I find the base versions of the Wizard spells do enough work on their own.
Anybody playing on Hard? I played Default on Hard but kept this one on Normal for whatever reason.
Spellcraft is insane. If you use Dart, you'll be doing more damage overall. Mist allows you to get in more damage during turns, like if poison was applicable to every monster. Not only that, but you can apply those two to any spells and make them craftable. You'll thank me later when you can hit your team with a mist of health, constantly healing them per turn, or reviving them if you happen to come across a hard boss.
Ah, I haven't combined it with Healing (or Support) abilities yet, that seems to be where it will really shine. I'll have to try it out.
While it creates a somewhat interesting dynamic I do find myself frustrated that you can't get all the jobs on a single run through instead needing to choose between two for most of them.
don't worry too much about that

Main question. Is there another sequence of those 5 to 8 chapters?
Not if you do it right, no. If you're not paying attention, you can potentially loop infinitely through the game forever, but you probably won't.
I'm vaguely aware of what you're referencing, but still very early into the game. Is it worth it/viable todo a loop to get the other asteriks' from the points where you have to choose, or is there a chance to get them later on?
The game forces you to loop once but if you pay attention to the game you can break out of it and carry on with the game which lets you get the other asterisks and proceed with the story.
Yeah, my Edea is a Fencer with Triple Wield and she dumpsters fools. I am thinking of kicking it up to Hard.in chapter 3, halfway
