Schematics featuring the dual-camera 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus or "Pro" that's set to launch in the fall of 2016 have been published in the June issue of Japanese magazine MacFan, reiterating many of the design details that have been previously rumored for the device.

Japanese site Mac Otakara has shared images taken from MacFan, which seemingly confirm rumors that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will use largely the same design as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

The schematic focuses solely on the 5.5-inch model, which MacFan says will measure in at 158.22mm x 77.94mm x 7.3mm, identical to the dimensions of the iPhone 6s Plus.

Also depicted in the schematic is the dual camera setup that's rumored for the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus and the absence of a headphone jack. Apple is planning to remove the headphone jack in its 2016 devices, with headphones instead connecting via Lightning or Bluetooth.

I've been on the 4, 5, 6 Plus bandwagon and literally see no reason to upgrade; and if I do, it'll be to the 6S Plus so I can keep my headphone jack.

Also - lets say it MIGHT be waterproof [no headphone jack]. You can have a headphone jack and waterproof aka Galaxy S7.

I'll just wait until iPhone Anniversary edition. The iPhone 6+ is still in great shape.

I'm not up in arms about the loss of the headphone jack like many others, but it just doesn't excite me based on the rumours.

The 6 is staying with me until, at least, the next cycle.

The bottom left looks so empty without anything there.

The design seems so un-Apple like they didn't really think it through.

How are bluetooth headphones as a thing? Will the removal of the headphone jack be a big deal in the grand scheme? (Not rhetorical, actually asking.)

Bigger disappointment is the 7 having the same design as the 6. I liked how apple changed up the design with each number.

I think the rumor is they're dropping numbering, and also, that next year's phone will be a much more substantial major redesign.

Anyway, this is all the more motivation for me to go to an SE!

I see 'iphone pro' at the top... its not gonna happen, but please offer 4gb of ram as an option like the big ipad pro.

They've gotten to a point where you can get a quality pair for not a ton of money (Apple could easily bundle in a serviceable pair of bluetooth buds) - but you still have concerns about battery life & signal strength that don't surface in wired headphones.

I don't think it's a death sentence for the phone, but this is going to be a very unpopular introduction. Unless they really found a way to add something substantial to the experience.

I don't get it? I thought getting rid of the headphone jack was supposed to make the phone thinner.

next iteration, right now let's just make sure everyone has purchased all those new headphones.

Weird how its just the same phone but without the port... For me I really like that the port is gonna go away. Believe it when they say it has its advantages.

For myself recently got the s7 edge and the headphone jack is on the bottom. Forcing users is maybe not the best way but if I could name one thing I dont like about my phone is the cable which is constantly in the way when it is plugged in

do I need to explain why this comparison is foolish?
Nope, it demonstrates that the standard headphone jack does not add bulk to the phone. Bigger battery or water resistance is not a reason either, as other phones manage all that and still remain as thin as the current iPhone 6+.

Between this and the iPhone 6SE, it seems like Apple is indulging in sort of an experimental year where they try some unconventional stuff that might not appeal to everyone.

I have to wonder what their official explanation will be for the removal of the headphone jack. It seems like a huge gamble with not much in the way of potential payoff.

Said it before and I'll say it again -- no headphone jack, no sale.

I'm pretty much feeling the same way. I have several moderately expensive headphones that I use regularly and I really don't want to have to carry around adapters or buy new ones. I surely wouldn't use any headphone that comes bundled with the thing either.

Whenever my 5S runs out of steam I might just go with a 6S or go back over to Android for a while. I just don't understand this decision at all.
