Uncharted 4 street date broken as thieves steal copies

Maaaan, I'm conflicted. Someone on eBay UK has like 10 copies of the game at £60 each.

I really wish I could verify whether or not they're some of the stolen copies. A £20 premium to have it a week or so in advance...

Four copies gone in ten minutes, better decide quick :)

Just completed what I assume is the intro in about an hour (intro credits came up).

I wanted to chime in on Arne's comments and give my perspective on the intro. Is this the best Uncharted intro? Yes, easily and by far. UC2 is really the only competition and it really doesn't hold a candle to this one.

However, I think people are going to be pretty divided on whether or not the TLOU intro or this intro is better. I'm in the latter camp. I think this intro is paced better, lets the game breathe a bit more and slowly eases you into the tone and pacing of the game. What the TLOU intro has over this one and what I assume most will immediately compare it to is the emotional punch (which for me, really is the core of the intro). While UC4 gets pretty emotional, there's nothing quite like TLOU's gut punch.

tl;dr I think it's the best intro, though I could see why others would prefer TLOU's.

Edit: Another reason I really liked the intro was because it really just made me forget that this is Sam's first game. Like, wow.

Thanks for the impressions. You could not have said it any better for the perspectives.

I'm thinking of visiting some retailers this Thursday to find a copy of U4 in the UK.

How many days before release do retailers usually stock up on a game? Anyone know?

Oh and another thing I forgot to mention.

The animations in this game are absolutely the best. But you probably knew that or had a feeling. However, the animations, combined with the TLOU-esque melee system and the contextual animations kicking in alongside the AI helping you...

Good fucking lord, I have never been more impressed with a brawl. Just the seamless way everything blends together.

Holy fuck.

Yea found it and ordered already. £20 extra for a week early is fine by me.

Aye, that's a good price to get it early, much more palatable than £100+.

Smaller retailers probably at the weekend, my local niche store was adamant they wouldn't get it before Tuesday though.

I agree, higher difficulties on Uncharted 1-3 aren't that fun.

I'm plenty good enough, just prefer being able to move around and be a little reckless (much like Nate) instead of being constantly pushed into cover.
ohhh ok I gotcha...yeah that's a fun style to play as well...

Is selling game cases a thing? I want the SE, but I hate that there's no regular case included. I'm thinking about downgrading to the regular edition just because of it.

So, there is already 4 dudes here that said the intro was better than TLOU's in their opinion, right?

The hype levels are reaching critical levels now.

Sigh. I bought the ebay copy, feel scummy but I couldn't wait.

Still gunna keep my special edition preorder

Tempted by the UK eBay copies but I can't shake the feeling that they're stolen and I'd rather just wait a few days more for a legit copy.

Now if it could be posted to arrive tomorrow that would be a different story.

Hopefully the intro is a little less on the nose predictable than The Last of Us'.

Eh, I think that depends on what you find is predictable. I think this intro is better then TLOUs precisely because it works without needing an emotional hook like that game to get it going, though there is one.

But more importantly, the intro is better from a game perspective. This games intro isn't TLOU in design at all. Your not walking and observing.

Definitely sounds better to me then. I dunno, I did the math during TLOU intro real quick and wasn't really affected by it. Not saying that you have to be surprised in order to feel emotional impact, but something about it just didn't work for me at all.

not worth it man.

Don't let hype control your decisions. Just another week, it's not gonna kill ya. Plus that's when everyone will be officially talking about the game anyway.
