Oh, And how do you showcase Zelda for 3 days without spoilers??? Show the SAME location?
The Treehouse stream is confirmed just for 1 day.

I honestly thought people would be ecstatic for Zelda Wii U being the main focus of this year's E3, given how a lot of people had bitched it wasn't show last year?
We thought Zelda being the only playable game at E3 meant that it was going to be the only playable game, not the only game period. I guess we were too optimistic?

It's not like the upcoming 3DS games are disappearing, so we still have that to look forward to.
Maybe that's the same line of reasoning the marketing team was using.
Seems like a misreading of the fans.
So, par for the course for Nintendo.Seems like a misreading of the fans.
Delaying the Wii U version once again to sync with the NX launch and the release date being 9 months away from E3 surely doesn't help.
Plus their showing the supposedly worse version.

Eh, I can wait. I have some games to play through, and as long as the game is on it's way, then it's cool for me.
Twilight Princess for the GCN & Wii barely looked different from one-another, and I'm pretty much expecting the Wii U & NX versions to be in a similar boat.
This was the company that brought Mario 64 to E3 and blew minds. I think anything less than a Mario 64 bomb on the industry will be a massive disappointment. At the point of where Nintendo is, this can't just be another Zelda game.
Again, wouldn't people be happy about this? The fact that they are dedicating one game for every square inch of the space they have rented sounds really cool in my mind.
It's not about impatience. It's about the fact that it's not even fixed now for March, just 2017. So who knows? It's more difficult to be hyped for a moving target.
Considering that people aren't happy about it means something is up.
It may mean that having one game at E3 defies conventions in a negative way. It seems to be the case even if that game is well liked, one game is not enough to have a "strong showing" as they say.
Nintendo has effectively pulled a "The Saturn is not our future" moment. The difference is that the Saturn still had more first and third-party games coming at that point than Wii U, like a port of Resident Evil as well as Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, and (outside NA) Deep Fear.
Probably the worst thing about this is no Nintendo World Championship.
"hey Nintendo's in a transitional period right now and when NX is revealed and the games are anounced, it's gonna be fine".
You can't honestly believe most people feel this way. The very thread you're posting in shows otherwise.Again, wouldn't people be happy about this? The fact that they are dedicating one game for every square inch of the space they have rented sounds really cool in my mind.

People said the same when they abandoned the Wii 2 years early and then when they had no games at Wii U launch.

Could you imagine if they showed the GC version of TP at E3 2006 instead of the Wii version? Regardless of how they look, the fact that there is a version of this massive game coming out on their NEW console, yet they are showing us the version from their old, dead console is a weird, shitty move.

What terrible PR? They aren't even showing the thing at E3. There's nothing to report on and there's nothing sacrilegious about not revealing it at E3. When the NX is revealed and if it looks cool, take a head count of approximately how many people still give one fuck that it wasn't at E3.

Well, was it ever confirmed that the game was coming out on the launch for the NX? Or was that just an assumption fans had made?
Radio silent is actually the definition of Nintendo post Iwata.
but they're seemingly deciding to go radio silent on it which is very un-Nintendo.
I can only speak for myself, but when did Zelda get so special it could afford to hog the spotlight to itself? There are other games I am interested in and I would like to get updates on them. In the long run it won't matter, but people are getting very impatient, and rightfully so. The barren release schedule combined with the decreased E3 presence does not instill confidence, which is a very bad thing when the company is intending to launch a console in less than a year. And that's the problem that I have, even after reading the bulk of the comments. I'm so confused with why people are upset.
I still maintain the WiiU had a great launch line-up. NSMBU (one of the best Mario games ever made). ZombiU (great survival horror), Nintendo Land (best mini game collection ever made). This is the only time in my life I've felt this way about Nintendo and like I said: I have 100% confidence that this is temporary, but that doesn't change the fact that at this moment and for the next year we're shit outta luck (unless they're gonna surprise us in some way which is also a possibility).People said the same when they abandoned the Wii 2 years early and then when they had no games at Wii U launch.
This move actually makes sense to me. If Nintendo showed all of their 2016 games, their lineup would look even more anemic than 2015, and everyone would complain about a lackluster showing. By announcing that they're only showing Zelda, they ensure that the disappointment hits now, so most of the new opinions being voiced when E3 actually happens will be about how good Zelda is.
And that's the problem that I have, even after reading the bulk of the comments. I'm so confused with why people are upset.
Would you want them to do the opposite? I think people are going to get angry, regardless of what they do.
]You woud be a great Nintendo suit, thats for sure, as it seems you have the same line of reasoning as when Nintendo tries to read opinions on the internet.[/B]
I cant wait Reggie saying after the huge E3 backlash if zelda's showing is nothing near absolutley perfect and great that he doesnt understand fans because they gave them this year what they asked last year.
It's not confirmed to be at launch yet. Just that "It will launch simultaneously on both Wii U and NX in 2017".

Yeah, if you think about it, it makes sense.
But not showing NX with its games at E3 doesn't make sense to me at all.
E3 isn't what you think it is anymore, especially for Nintendo. They have their own direct channels to funnel their press through in addition to the multitudes of trade shows around the world. E3 is not as important or big as it once was, an it's been trending this way for years.
The majority of the press will still reward Nintendo with the same amount of coverage as if they had shown a dozen games. Nintendo knows this, but it doesn't make it any less arrogant.
Dude, that's not cool.
Ah, alright. Thank you for clarifying that. Just for curiosity sake, do you think the NX version will come out first, and then the Wii U version will be released on a later date?
Okay, I can understand that reasoning, especially with how they are not showcasing some of the upcoming games for the 3DS down the road. But would't the same be said for Sony? We still don't know when The Last Guardian is coming out, for example. There hasn't been a lot of software being released on the PS4, as far as major releases are concerned (with a few exceptions, such as Uncharted 4 and the PS4 Ratchet and Clank remake).

People keep saying this, but it's still the biggest trade show in the industry and is still the primary place for mainstream media coverage. Furthermore, Nintendo isn't even doing a Direct, which is a direct feed to their fans and could capitalize on the attention that time of year garners.
This might not spell disaster for the NX, but this is absolutely a bad sign for Nintendo.
