Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
They're an interesting dynamic and helps mitigate the problem of the water starter usually being able to ace both of the others due to having access to ice moves

On the bright side, being /Ground opens up the opportunity to learn Rock and maybe even Steel coverage.

Even if that's the case, they end up being hurt anyway since most of the time those secondary typings end up giving x4 weakness

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???

hmm I can see Litten becoming the bulky venusaur quadroped with a volcano on its back

rowlet becoming fast attack rogue

and popplio ... idk. mega sweet tooth is all i can see

What's wrong with Finneon? I doubt its butterfly motif is important enough for a Water/Bug Pokémon.

Oh, I'm not saying it should be dual typed or anything. I just remember it getting a lot of flack for being a kinda meh Pokemon; another 2-stage water type with middle of the road stats and no gimmick, in a generation that was severely in need of different types, like fire.

My reaction was that Bulbasaur had a seed so at least the giant flower came from somewhere.

Then I remembered:

I can almost see those spikes growing into a volcano of sorts, like Camerupt:

I don't know the source of this but this (probably fake) Popplio evo is actually god damn great and creepy

Oh and Rowlet and Litten I guess

Fan evos are terrible, they have no continuity. Litten suddenly evolves into a generic tail-fired Panther while losing all discernable features from its first form? Popplio suddenly evolves into a fat creepy clown and loses almost all its sea lion features (except for fin feet)? Rowlet's evolution is also pretty drastic. There's no consistency.

Well I mean it's not out of the realm of possibility *CoughSamurottCough*. These are clearly fake though.

I don't think Samurott's is that drastic. Yeah, it changes its skin colour and is quadrupedal after being bipedal for two stages, but there are still consistent features like the shell weapon expanding into armor, the whiskers being a sign of wisdom with each evolution.

Maturity, bitches.
You know cats' hair stands on end when they feel threatened. Those three "spikes" could simply be a stylised version of that. It's arched back is also indicative of this.

That Litten fake evo looks cool but eh i would expect way more stripes on its body that look like cracks in lava and to look more tiger like.

And camels use their humps to store fat. I know that a cat's hair standing up is what it's referencing, I'm sure most people do. I'm saying I could see those spikes 'evolving' into a sort of volcano in the evolutions.

I don't think so, at least as far as its theme is concerned, going from a ninja to a samurai isn't so drastic. A ninja can be a samurai but now he's on all fours.

That's what I was thinking. In the trailer, you see it popping up when it uses Ember. I also think Litten is too skinny to pull off the Bulbasaur to Venusaur transformation (but with a volcano). Bulbasaur at least had the initial bulk to hold a bulb that would turn into a flower. Litten does not.

Time will tell, though.

The litten "evo" is the only passable one but it resembles more of a panther than a tiger like most people are assuming with the markings on its head.

Rowlet looks like those dudes from Journey.

I thought it was weird that the markings on Litten's body would change so drastically. Hardly any on its legs anymore, some of its paws are red, no "whiskers", different marking on its head. Of course, the design thought behind that might be that when it sheds it fur via combustion, that it changes. Also, didn't like how it was oriented sideways.

I can see the design in Rowlet being base off of the description we have for it. Silent, uses kicks. The bowtie is still there.

And I can kinda see it in Popplio's too, but that's a bigger stretch. I could see it going bipedal because we see it stand up proudly on its tail in the trailers.

Overall, interesting ideas for designs. No doubt they're fake, but I can see the design decisions behind them.

Thank god fans don't make Pokemon. Those final evos are ugly as can be.

Then people get pissed because they don't look like what they expected them to be. It's good to have some semblance to the base form, but a lot of fan designs for starter evos have a case of "it gets bigger" syndrome. They aren't necessarily meant to be predictable. Greninja was a good example, I remember seeing a few designs for this huge frog covered in bubbles.

Although in this case, the person who made these actually went out of their way to give them actual themes (except for Litten apprently), but they just look kind of weird.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
If there's one thing I appreciate about the fake creepy Popplio evo its that it actually emphasizes it being a clown moreso than a seal and focuses on that aspect the most, unlike most other fakes which try hard to make it cool.

It's ballsy and I like that.
