Don't know if you've seen the new screens(there are more than in the magazine) showing the dialogues etc.
Just thanks for the team for making the game, 15 years waiting and won't have to wait too long now until I get yooka laylee.

The game will truly be bat ship crazy. I can't wait!

Can't wait too,the important note though is that everything so far seems perfect to me.
Just hope that has plenty of surprises and has a decent length since I'm a bit concerned about "only" having 5 worlds, other than that seems a dream come true.
Also 5 ghosts were shown but in the edge magazine talks about 3, hope the other two are in the game too.

Wow, saw the scans, that Jungle floating level has really evolved!! Don't know if they gonna make it this year but I really like what they are doing. Hype only started building up.

Thanks! Only saw one with dialogue. Was there more than one?

This game looks so amazing, I hope it can make it this year. Considering Nintendo is not announcing anything for this year anymore, Yooka-Laylee would be perfect to fill the void Zelda left. Besides the three visual novels on Vita, I can think of only three games, Paper Mario, Ace Attorney and Pokémon, I'm looking forward to, that is going to release this year. Well, Sonic Boom 2, ReCore, Metroid Prime FF and Kirby I will probably buy as well, but I'm not really pumped for them.

I don't think it will make this year, honestly. Fine by me, though. I have complete faith in Playtonic for Yooka Laylee.

Looks literally two generations apart lmao. MN9 looks like a PS2 game rendered in PCSX2.
I think it's an unfair comparison, though.

First and foremost, MN9 was designed to run on older, less powerful platforms. It's a game designed in Unreal Engine 3 that has to run at 60 frames per second. On older machines, this is a tall order and one that prevents the game from becoming too visually ambitious. It should have only been made for PS4, XO, and the PC, as far as I'm concerned, but the KS was launched before that made sense. Opting to release the game on SO MANY platforms was a huge issue that I believe has contributed to many of its problems. The fact that it has to operate at a high frame-rate just adds to the problems.

Yooka, though? Do we actually know what level of performance is being targeted? They are using the Unity Engine which has a TERRIBLE track record on consoles. If they can hit a perfect 60fps with those visuals then I will be impressed but I'm willing to bet that they are aiming for 30fps instead. The team also has the luxury of targeting more powerful systems (though the Wii U goal is...interesting and I'm betting it either won't happen or will be a terribly watered down version).

MN9 is not a beautiful game, but it's not as ugly as people seem to imply and it looks nice enough in motion due to a smooth frame-rate.

That is being really mean to PS2 games. A lot of them look better than that.

Yooka-Laylee looks like it might turn out pretty good.
Artistically, sure, but to suggest that MN9 is technically inferior to a PS2 title is just silly.

No just that one, but shows you that it's going to be the same as BK/BT

Oh, okay, cool. Thank you! Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss any. And yeah, it looks super similar!

Sorry to say, but I have to agree, Yosh. :( I will be very happily surprised if it comes this year but I don't expect it to. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong, just trying to set my expectations low here so I'm not too disappointed if it doesn't come this year. BTW, I don't necessarily expect ReCore to hit this year either.

Their lead tech guy/programmer/engineer ported Donkey Kong Country to Gameboy Color, so I don't think they'll have any trouble with Unity.

LOL, Dr Puzz has a Skull on her shirt. Remember, she's Yooka-Laylee's Mumbo Jumbo. I'm loving all the sneaky references to BK.

The problem isn't their programmers, rather, Unity itself. The developer is ultimately limited by the engine and its flaws. I understand threading was improved in March but I'm skeptical that a game with large open levels will run well on consoles using Unity.

Unity is shit. If this doesn't have performance problems across every platform, including PC, I'll be surprised.

Puzz is horrifying to me with that design. Like some weird 90s version of a Splatoon character.

I really like the concept of the duck though since he would be a quack doctor.

Yeah, Dr. Quack is great. I'm not entirely sure why he's in a gumball machine though. I feel like it's a pun I'm not getting.

I believe the most current versions of Unity have addressed some of the issues with multi-core/thread usage. Could be wrong though.

Dr Puzz is the first design for this game that I'm not really feeling. It's just seems sorta off when it's in 3d.

Dr. Puzz is... Whaa? She reminds me of weird, old, crummy CGI cartoons. She just doesn't fit, to me... I'd probably like the design better if it was more animal-like.

She probably is, that face looks very porcelain'y, wouldn't surprise me if she's full squid, the face just looks off, like it's a mask.

Edit: I can't believe the Doctor-Puzz pun didn't hit me until now.
