Ready at Dawn unveils Deformers (PC/PS4/XB1, online/local MP, GameStop) [Previews]

Seems like a lot of people missed all the "Gamestop publisher -> low budget game" part.

We've already seen this kind of deal with Insomniac and their Song of the Deep.

Well at least the lighting is nice!

Looks like it might be a bit fun at least. Still such a shame what happened to this studio, they could have been doing much more meaningful games.

I like the style, but it looks very chaotic? the fast cuts didn't really help.
Nice so see a new multiplayer brawler, though.

"Meaningful games."

What was The Order: 1886's contribution to the industry? What gave that game meaning? How the hell do you define a game with 'meaning' and 'purpose'?

What would make a game more meaningful? Most of the meaningful games are coming out from independent developers now anyway.

Reminds me of those Halo 3 custom games where everybody had a ghost and tried to ram each other off the edge. Good times.

Uh, anyways. Not particularly interesting to me but it could be good for some quick fun. Platforms?

Hahahaha. Yeah, pretty much what I expected after The Order's failure. Game development is fucked up in 2016.

What if this game is awesome, reviews well, sells great and builds a loyal fanbase? And all for a fraction of the cost of developing The Order?

That would make Games development in 2016 un-fucked surely?

Glad to see them diversifying, but didn't expect this tbh.

Maybe this is the kind of game they can make without funding? Anyway, I wish them the best.

Even though I hope for that game to be good.. I can't stop laughing. Specially after how much self-serious was The Order

Looks like fun tbh, quiet frankly if they need to sharpen the blades with smaller scope games then I'm brown and down!!

For what it's worth I was there day one for the order, I regret nothing

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
Not interested.

Games where they could tell a story, create interesting characters, worlds. Evoke more emotions than just fun or frustration.

When they fucked up The Order that ship sailed I think, maybe they weren't ready, and games like this should be their focus.

Don't forget letterbox presentation!!!!

Man I didn't even know The Order had fans, that shit was more generic than Walmart-brand chili

This game is what I expect from a developer who made nothing but handheld games.

There is a very specific audience that likes everything that just has money on screen no matter how shit it actually is.

I gave RAD the benefit of the doubt before but they blew it. So, I'll wait and see with very low expectations.

Yeaaaa No.

Cinematic action adventure that is not, of course others might find whatever that was 'fun' not me. If RaD has a future, I'll wait to see their next game like 1886. If they never do it big again, that's unfortunate.

Chief creative officer and co-founder Ru Weerasuriya confirms that the studio currently has three titles in development: the just announced physics-based brawler De-formers, an unannounced Oculus Rift-exclusive title, and a mysterious AAA game in pre-production. Weerasuriya can't reveal the platform (or possibly platforms) or publisher of this unannounced blockbuster, nor can he confirm if it's a new IP, but he does tell us about 20 staffers are working on De-formers full-time with a larger team on the Oculus title and the rest on the AAA game with more to join as other projects near completion.

People expected an announcement of another AAA after just one year? Id like to be on the meds those developers are on who could pull off such a feat.

As a guy who loves the cinematic TPS shooter games this is extremely dissappointing to see.

It looks like a shovel ware Wii title that tries to emulate the Nintendo fun

Its a shame the game is getting hate because it isn't a high budget cut scene with a little bit of game play sprinkled in.

The game looks nice and could be a big hit like Rocket League. Who knows. I know I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Hmm more interested in their next AAA IP.

This looks colourful and all but not a game for me.
Will pass.

Yep. I just refreshed page and saw the little article about a new AAA in development.

Will keep a lookout for it in the future. Any developer can always improve, but if they were to make the game just like the order, I'll be more than happy with that.

Smash Bros x Monkey Ball huh? Might be good but the teaser is lacking character

guaranteed to be a more fun game than the boreder 1886 though
