Eurogamer: The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein 2 to be announced at Bethesda presser

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I'm definitely in the positive camp for The Evil Within, even if it wasn't crazy about it. It really feels like a Best Of for Mikami, adopting bits and pieces from numerous games he's directed, but is pretty uneven. Great highs, frustrating lows. There's something about it though; it has a lot of content and a decent sense of moment-to-moment originality and flow. I also thought it looked really good.

I'm definitely down for another.

I have to say though- Bethesda is absolutely KILLING it this generation. I pretty much want every single one of the games they announce.

Wolfenstein was fantastic and I want the sequel badly, Doom was the best shooter I played in years and the most fun I had with a game for a long time, Fallout 4 was a great time even though I did prefer New Vegas, The Evil Within was a flawed game that I did not enjoy as much as I'd hoped I would, but I really appreciated what it tried to do and I will definitely get the sequel if it improves on the original.

And then there's Dishonored 2 and Prey reboot... which basically have me shaking in anticipation. I LOVE the original Prey, I think that Prey 2 trailer looked fantastic as well, but man... if this Prey game goes back to the original's Bioshock-esque atmosphere, I'll be so damn happy. And Dishonored 2 is one of my most anticipated games.

I really, really love what Bethesda is doing these days.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Evil Within. Mechanically that game spoke to me. Plus it had great art direction and atmosphere to boot. Can't wait to see where they take the sequel.

Some of you are making me consider giving Evil Within a second chance. The Evil Within I played was horribly paced, had an abundance of one hit kills you could rarely see coming, had several levels that were just straight poorly, had a weird identity crisis and jumped between visual themes constantly, etc.

The chapter with the chainsaw dude chained in the barn was the only part of the game I really enjoyed.
I'm in the same boat. I traded the game in but all this gushing makes me consider giving it another chance.

The Evil Within is such an odd game for me, because I simultaneously adore the game and agree with everything you just said.

That's because it's it's the kind of game that fails in ways games don't usually fail anymore. It fails like one of those sleeper SNES games that puts everything on the table you'd want for a great game but just feels kinda off a lot of the time with elements that don't mesh well and entire sections that ruin the game for people. Most modern games instead nail everything but the fundamentals. It's creates a feeling of simultaneous satisfaction and disappointment that most of us haven't felt in a long time.

So TEW2 had decent enough sales to justify the sequel? NIce. Now I'm gonna have to replay it on the casual level (or watch a yt story recap ;)), because I don't remember most of the storyline.

Hyped as hell for Wolf 2.

Also I really really hope that TEW2 has better pacing. I wanted to like that game but I just couldn't.

Will be very happy if both of these games get announced at Bethesda's press conference on Sunday, especially The Evil Within. Come on, give Mikami a bigger budget and let him use U4. Please, please, please. :)

In the meantime everybody should buy the new Doom as it's a fuckin' masterpiece of a game! A real rare gem!!

I wonder what the chances are for a Fallout 4: GOTY edition for the fall?

Please don't turn this into a "it's not a good game" discussion.

TEW2 and Wolfestein 2 get me all sorts of excited. I do hope Wolf 2 ends up with multiplayer this time.

Machine Games have gone on record saying single player is where they feel the most comfortable and like to use their resources, so I don't think that it'll have it. After Doom's tacked on MP I can't say that would be a bad thing. Never know though! Be awesome if there was something as good as Et.

Is TEW still very bad on PS4, regarding the framerate?

It's been on sale so often and the game seems really cool to me, but the framerate hysteria when the game came out has made me not buy it yet..

I'm willing to give a TeW sequel a chance! The first was ok but it just needed a little extra polish.

Also, please no more black bars if the camera is very close

I want to believe, but Eurogamer really seems to just be pulling this out of their ass. Wolfenstein and The Evil Within are both two of my favorite games of this gen, so far.

I want all of these games.

So hyped for another Evil Within and to see what Machine games has been up to for the new Wolfenstein. Some more Dishonored footage, a Skyrim remaster, Prey 2 - this Bethesda conference is going to rock!

Man, i'm so down for Wolfenstein 2, the first one was so fantastic and i think about it even these days, specially after playing Doom, the good ol' FPS's are back.

Not talking about sales figures or any of that but I'm honestly surprised The Evil Within is getting a sequel just based on its quality.

I thought it was pretty terrible overall and creatively fairly bankrupt. I love Horror games however and hope they can somehow get their shit together and actually make a game that lives up to the creator's resume.

Yes. They never really fixed it. I wouldn't recommend going back to play it unless you can play it on a decent PC.

It was patched and was a big improvement over the vanilla game, alongside removing the black borders. The game is perfectly playable on the PS4 now.

Have had my fill of Skyrim so not interested in a remastered version but yes please to a mix of Dishonored 2 and Wolfenstein 2... Plus add a potential Prey and Evil Within 2 reveal and it sounds like a solid line up.

More hyped for more Wolfenstein than any other game :D
Wolfenstein - Doom - Wolfenstein 2 (?)

Could Bethesda really publish such a God tier three-peat for the the fps genre?

Please have the new order devs on this. Please

Hopefully we'll get an Old Blood style standalone expansion for DOOM next year too :)

Really excited for the Bethesda presser now, moreso than the rest. They've been on fire with everything that's not Fallout.
