If this game were Guts spinning in a circle and cleaving a never ending line of enemies coming out of a monster closet, I would still buy it.

And train wagons only for girls labeled as safe spaces, because they get grouped in regular trains, so that argument of girls can walk wearing skimpy clothes and nothing will happen to them is really weird.

There's a new Berserk TV anime set to start in less than a month- I guess a lot will ride on the success of that and how long it runs.... it's CG like the last OAVS.. soooo I dunno.

Wow this thread has really gone off the rails...but being about Berserk I guess that's not entirely surprising. Still, I'm excited for the game. Berserk plus musou is the video game equivalent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Cleaved in two and mashed into a sticky, gooey pulp. It'll be great!

For the DreamCast game Miura was actually behind the design and wrote the story, so on that he had a rather large influence, at least. Would be neat if he had similar roles for this one.

Except it doesn't really tell us where they're willing to go. Their use of the event is to pan around a naked body while tentacles slither up it. It's basically just there for titillation.
Let's face it, it's a musou, guy with a big sword is really all its going to be.

Just realised that this is the first Berserk game in over a decade... Oh, lordy.
Xrd looks as good as it does because of the insane amounts of work they had to put in to get things looking just right. It wasn't easy.

Guts ain't a wuss like Geralt the combat would have to be much better yeah.
On that note, I'm not sure Dark Souls combat would suit a Berserk game either, way too clunky.

Yes! Interesting scene to choose for the teaser, but makes sense, considering it's probably the pivotal moment that leads to Guts becoming a broken, rage-filled berserker.

Devil May Cry or MGR Revengeance style is the best way to do the combat. Maybe Ninja Gaiden as well, but I haven't played the game.

I'm in no hurry for it to end, personally, I could read it forever. I love the glacial pacing, screw the haters.
When Miura dies and the series ends unfinished, it still counts as ending!

I truly believe it will end. Miura has another good 20 or so years to get it done (people never look at the bigger picture), but I can't say I share your mentality on the subject LOL.
Yeah, ideally something as kinetic as Devil May Cry but with animations that make it feel like there's more "weight" behind it. Sort of a Dragon's Dogma / DMC hybrid.

I understand that there will always be... outliers, but I think you're assuming that a the average Berserk fan will recognize that scene -- an absolutely harrowing and stomach churning moment when the beloved characters you've grown to love, including a strong and proud female character who's struggled alongside Guts since the first episode suddenly, are all met with an especially cruel fate to show the depths of despair and cruelty in the story's world that serves as the turning point for the main character and drives him 'berserk', as the pit of your own stomach gives out and you realize you will cite this as one of the most brutal and mean twists in pop fiction -- and in response to that memory of abject brutality, you seem to be implying a viewer will start licking their lips while slathering and whisper to themselves "oh boy, I remember that rape, that was HOT!"
Say what you will about the decision to use that story point in the teaser, but the presumption that the trailer is meant to effectively make someone's penis jump for joy goes against the entire context of the scene.

Yeah new manga, new anime, new game. Seems like we're going to get a serious Berserk push this year. Maybe HBO will consider making it the next Game of Thrones just to blow the Red Wedding out of the water with the Eclipse next up to seal the deal haha.
Here's hoping Miura sticks to his monthly manga release schedule for more than 6 months this time.

Hmm. I was super excited on seeing this thread title and posted quickly in surprise, but I didn't see the teaser until this morning. I'm still excited for the game, but I'm baffled and a bit disappointed that...that scene is what they chose to highlight. It's - in my opinion - a true lowlight of a series that I otherwise have really loved. I've never quite reconciled myself to the fact that this is a story I greatly enjoy, with characters I care about, set in a world that is extremely compelling and unique, and yet it has this central plot point that I find uncompelling, gross, and deeply distasteful, to put it mildly. I still feel that there are many other ways that
I know that it fits the cruelty and mercilessness of the story's world, I get it, I'm not saying it's the nadir of civilization/Japanese culture or that anyone who doesn't personally grapple with that scene is an awful person. It's entirely just about me and how I feel about it.
If this is what's being foregrouded as a way to say, "hey, we're making a Berserk musou!", it gives me pause, personally. Again, I'm not saying change the story, censor anything, pillory Miura, or whatever. This is a scene that is, what, twenty years old now, a lot of ink has already been spilled about it. It's just how I personally feel about Berserk. The idea that this is how the game is being teased just makes me less excited to play it. I'm still interested, but musou seems like a particularly tacky genre to handle a scene like this. I don't relish the idea of hacking monsters with wild musou spin moves while this scene is playing out in the background, rendered in HD detail. I don't know.
Casca could have been traumatized and used as fodder for Griffith's transformation. He could have wiped all her memories or drained her soul or done things that are similarly dramatically significant without what happens, happening.

You are right.
This while surrounded by 50 enemies, all clones and 49 of them just there looking at you.
But the thing goes better when you choose a new stage and have to fight the exact same enemies but with a diferent color pallete. So deep.
So when you play god of war, you play square , square , square , triangle all the time ?
Because you can use this argument on every action game out there. Have you ever played those kind of games recently , lol ?
