Bulletstorm Remastered on the way?

I wonder what enhancements this will have?

Already own it on PC so I can play at beyond 4K 60fps.

Might throw some money at it anyways though since I only spent 50 the first time and would love a sequel.

Well I'm furously fiddling with my balls in anticipation of this remaster. Hopefully that means a nice new Steam version/GFWL ripped out.

This game needs New Game +
I hope they add it if true

Yes. That was one of my biggest complaints with the original.

I wish the developers were able to implement a combo system so you could chain a series of individual skillshots together for greater rewards.

EA still has publishing rights to the original game, which likely means it is (or was) publishing this. Regardless, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who believes that Origin is worse than GFWL.

I want them to implement a New Game+ Combo System where you can chain multiple playthroughs together for even GREATER rewards

Wasn't this allready announced??

It's not even properly announced.

I'll take a rebalancing of the game's economy over any graphical alterations. Everytime I've popped into this game just to replay it, the cost of ammo catches me off guard.

One of the most freshest and fun FPS games of last gen. Criminally underrated.

Including the gears beta hurt it a lot if my PS3 friends were any indication. Many of then refused to get the game as they thought it wasn't fair 360 owners got a Gears beta and they didn't.

Please be real. I've had a hankering to play this game again recently, because it was a surprising amount of fun the first time through, but I never bought it.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Well the writer had some mainstream comics success at Marvel after it had released, so its probable he has some fans who'd want to check out his work who may have skipped Bulletstorm previously

As much as I love comics, it's a niche market

You're talking maybe 10k people there, at the most

Really want this, I think the PC version is suffering from post-GWFL trauma so this is great news if it's coming to Win10/Steam.

I really don't see why the game needs a remaster. It looks perfectly fine to this day, and you're in it for the fantastic gameplay and ridiculous[ly excellent]writing anyway. However, if it helps get a sequel, I guess I'm all for it.

Yes please

I have the GFWL version and it doesnt work anymore, since apparently MS has taken the authentication server offline

There are hoops to jump through, but it should still work.

Not me or anyone else I know. :/

That sample size isn't relevant.

The game is definitely a cult classic around enthusiast circles.

How many logical leaps does it take to arrive at this justification? Absolutely insane.

This might be a controversial statement but there's some Bulletstorm DNA in the latest DOOM, particularly in how it rewards player aggression. It's a really good game. That and the phrase "dick-tits" will never cease being funny to me.

I can't say I'd play a remaster - maybe depending on the price - but I'd definitely play a sequel.
now that you mention it i can totally see it. bulletstorm doesn't have the same speed or movement that DOOM has, but the flow of combat and the way it encourages you to engage with enemies at different ranges really feels similar

It's EA, and they said they won't do Remasters.

PCF are independent now and own bulletstorm. it's 100% he devs call

Not everyone has a PC/360/PS3 to play the game on. The fact that both Microsoft and Sony seem to be moving away from the idea of console generations means remasters make a lot more sense, since being released on these platforms would hopefully mean the games are playable on future consoles for a long time.

And since they're going back to the game getting the PC version fixed (GFWL) would be welcome, too.

I honestly don't mind Origin so that's fine by me. Though I use the liveless patch with the Steam version anyway :) Obviously I'd prefer to get the Steam version patched though.

Yeah, you're probably right.
Hey, people who like BulletStorm and comics, you should go read Fear Agent!

The game is definitely a cult classic around enthusiast circles.

I suspect it's possible its better received on the PC, where "from the makers of Painkiller" holds some cachet

Wrong. It was part of the EA Partners program that published independently owned IP's.
So it's up to People Can Fly who turned independent from Epic Games back in 2015, and bought the IP.

Ah yeah, EA Partners.

Okay I see an article saying they still own it. It's still possible, but I don't think it's financially smart to do it unless it's extremely cheap to develop.

Since per the EA partners contract that won't let them touch the original release on PC (for some monumentally stupid reasons), does a remaster allow them to sidestep that and just release it on Steam? If so, I'm more than happy to double dip.

Also if this actually happens, please remove the 60 fps lock PCF >_>

And that EA Partners contract is still in effect. PCF owns Bulletstorm wholesale, yes, but the game is still being published by EA. Assuming the remaster is happening, this means one of two things:

- It's also being published through EA Partners, or
- PCF has EA's approval to self-publish said remaster

EA owned the rights to publish the first game, but since this is a completely new release and PCF now own the IP they have the right to self-publish.

That's my thinking on it, but we have no evidence to back this up one way or another.

ID@Xbox means self publishing

Strictly speaking, it just means that developers don't need to have a publisher to release a game. Some if not many ID@Xbox games are not self-published.

PCF self-publishing a remaster of a product that it does not have the legal right to sell without the express approval of the publisher of the latter sounds like a recipe for legal trouble.

They may have gotten permission from EA though. Remember, EA aren't interested in remasters and Bulletstorm sold poorly for them. Maybe they're just fine letting PCF do what they want with the first game.
