Loved the conference. Perfectly executed with very little unnecessary fluff. Lots of game showing and some neat surprises. I think the thing that absolutely floored me was the Infinite Warfare gameplay. My jaw dropped. They did the right thing holding the Call of Duty logo until the end.

Same for me... Holy shit that was Call of Duty?

It was kinda funny to see "That's it?!" comments last night, when the game-focused conference ended. Considering that their presentations have been criticized for years for having too much non-gaming content.

The good:
Death Stranding (PT/SH lives on after all)
RE7
The visually astonishing Here They Lie and Bound
Days Gone (the horde looked impressive)
Horizon
GOW4
TLG
Sucker Punch's Insomniac's Spider-Man
The live orchestra. It was a great way to start the conference, and I just shook my head to those people who impatiently waited for it to end.

The bad:
The unwelcome changes in GOW
No Neo

I missed watching most of the actual show, but I'm not very impressed with the announcements. No real indie presence or Vita (although this was expected) and no Persona 5 or Gravity Rush other than a split second at the end. Minimal Japanese & quirky stuff in general. The new stuff they announced isn't really for me. Judging for the response online, I'm in the minority though - it looks like the overall reception was very positive.

Here They Lie and Bound were revealed outside of the conference.

so much misinformation in one post.

Ok guys, I have a little question, but as it could lead to list wars and other nonsense I prefer asking it in the two big conference topics:

Could some kind soul lists me what titles in the show are Sony exclusives ? Not available on PC or anything.

Just wanting to have a clearer picture of what each manufacturer has under its belt, nothing more.

I think this was a really good conference. But that Crash moment ruined everything for me...

Why? Isn't this a good thing? It puts Crash back on the map, now people can show how much they care about the Bandicoot and then he might be back in the gaming world.

Pretty good E3. I would say I was impressed by what I saw overall. My biggest complaint was too much of the same type of game. Predominantly first or third party shooter/fighter types. I really wanted to see some indies or some platforming or racing or extreme sports to break up the tension. But well done on the surprises with RE7 and Crash and Kojima.

Spiderman is insomniac, and death stranding is nothing like PT other than kojima and reedus collaborating.

Oh, that's my bad. For some reason I mixed up the developers. Death Stranding seems like a horror-themed action game, unless you have other information. If that's what it is, it's probably likely he'll use the ideas he had for PT/SH.

It was such a short conference, at least by Sony standards. I wonder if they deliberately kept it lean because they've got three other gaming pressers to deliver at for the rest of the year.

I'm ok with the GoW changes for now, but only if they back that camera off a bit. I'm not cool with the RE4 - limited view camera mode. The fixed angles in GoW1-3 were cool for those games, but I'm glad they evolved it, as there wasn't much more they could do to further the experience with those limitations.

Melchiah, you stayed up to 6am too?

i went to sleep when my gf woke up to go to work, hah.

It's a tradition. =) I slept a couple of hours before the conference, and a couple more after it ended.

EDIT:

I felt it lacked the sense of epic scale of its predecessors. I also liked the way Kratos was, and the boy seemed like a needless addition to me.

games, games, games, it was a well executed conference.

instead of delving too long into specs of the VR, they just showed you the games that will be available for VR. Well thought out

I'm going to go up in Norway and become a lumberjack too.

I loved the Spidey game trailer but I hate the costume but I am confident that they will have unlockables and DLC for alternate costumes

GoW, Horizon, Days Gone, Persona 5, Uncharted 4, Detroit, The Last Guardian

any of those games beat the complete upcoming Xb one lineup for me. Only game I'm remotely interested in is Gears of War but even that looks super generic and isn't even from the original devs. Microsoft is scared to take risks and hopes others aka 3d party devs delivers games for them.

In the long run I think Sony has the right gameplan. Actually support devs, let them do what they want. Let them be creative. We have seen it countless time. I mean letting David Cage do a game after the other proves it.

No indies and basically no JPN appearance was surprising. But they have upcoming conferences to talk about both. Especially with TGS on the horizon.

Why should they spend time on the Vita? What would they even say? That would have been an absolute waste of everyone's time.
So was Red Dead ever actually supposed to be there, or were all the rumors just wrong?
The rumor last night is that it was pulled because of Orlando.

We'll never know. Maybe it was never supposed to be at E3? Perhaps the insiders got word Rockstar was revealing it this week and all assumed it would be at one of the conferences?

Aside from Enter the Dragon Punch there's been someone else hinting at this week so I guess we wait to find out..

Do you know what I like about these guys? They fucking love games. It's so good to see professionals really enjoying what they do, doing it because they love doing it.

Probaby the best people doing this at the moment.

Aye, they're a great bunch of lads. A little of their enthusiasm goes a long way for sure.

Very much agreed. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I'm stumped as to why Sony thought it was a good idea to end their conference on that underwhelming Days Gone gameplay trailer when they've got pick of the litter in terms of game output.

Can anyone clarify that slide they threw up towards the end about the $10 PSN credit and 6/19? I was watching and working at the same time last night and could barely hear what was being said...

Regarding to Red Dead, I've found this on Reddit.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/4nzy3s/still_possible_chance_of_rdr_read/

First thing first, please take this with a grain of salt, I am not promising anything. There are many rumors spreading around that Rockstar wanted Sony to delay their conference by 5+ hours, but Sony could not accommodate Rrequest. According to a post on the GTA forum, the reason behind the possible delay is that R trailer for RDR involved an outlaw entering a saloon and shooting many innocent people, this would be a PR nightmare (and in bad taste) due to the recent events that occurred this past weekend in Orlando, FL (link to forum page account name: jedijosh920 )
This cause Sony to reveal the Days Gone gameplay reveal as the finale rather than after the trailer (which seemed out of place). My speculation is that Sony needed a filler to replace what would have been a controversial ending (again due to the tragic events that occurred this past weekend). Again this is all speculation, but we may have a reveal of RDR tomorrow.

Good conference over all, and even the stuff I didn't care about (Detroit, CoD, VR "experiences") I at least understood why they were there. But I really didn't like it that the final gameplay demo went to what appeared to be a fairly generic realistic brown zombie game. They should've had the gameplay demo of Days Gone shown off right after the trailer and then put something else in the last spot, I don't know what, but something that looked more unique and hadn't been announced already at the conference.

I also didn't like the lack of any indie games. They usually have a nice sizzle reel of upcoming indies and that's always fun. Certainly better than Skylanders shit. They shouldn't have left out the Bound and Gravity Rush 2 trailers either. Those were great!

I'm surprised they didn't manage to sneak in one more No Man's Sky demo. I figured they would've found a way to get one more demo out of it even with it coming out so soon.

If the rumor about having a bar/saloon shootout scene in the trailer is true, I guess I understand their concern about how people would react.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I fully get the concern, but I don't think pulling it (if it happened) was the right move.

Now who knows when we'll see it.

This is the original source but its likely BS because it might be posted by someone that got banned for taking GAF info and trying to pass off as his own and then when RDR didn't show, he got tore to shreds. lol
https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadred...originally_going_to_be_shown_at_the/?sort=new

this sounds reasonable for me. And according to this guys, the reveal set for 8 AM, today I guess. https://twitter.com/Dat_Saintsfan/status/742543663276789760
8am has come and gone. That dude was just messing with folks.

It makes sense actually that red dead should of been at the end of the conference, it was unlike Sony to not end the show on something big.

I believe news on the PS4 Ver. of Rise Of The Tomb Raider should be coming today as Square Enix has their livestreaming stuff starting later today. I can't wait to finally get a release date for it, been waiting FOREVER to play it.
