I'm one of those people that was a Zelda fan for all my life, but had my interest slipping with the last few games.

After waiting all these years, what they showed me in this trailer did not get me excited at all, and it breaks my heart.

I miss being genuinely excited with Zelda reveals.

Anyone else hate the UI?
• Inconsistent font use
• Inconsistent weights/letter caps/typefaces
• Inconsistent use of elements (arrow quantity, etc.)
• Futuristic vs. minimal is an ugly combo

I dunno. I really like it. Looks slick.

I didn't notice the font inconsistency but I was too busy looking at the world.

Looks promising. I'm still wary of the open world due to my own open world fatigue and finding overworlds in past 3D Zelda games boring.

Phone reception is more important to me than human rights
It's actually pretty typical of The Zelda fanbase to overreact and say that the next installment of the series is the worse. It's rinse, and repeat for them.

I think some ppl really do fear change. Change isnt always bad. I think Nintendo has proven over the years when they change an established idea, formula it can be good. Not all of their change has been bad.

Game looks fun but I hope there is a purpose to go around and do this stuff.

Not just oh cool I can slaughter enemies in this beautiful world.

according to Aonuma "...if we have princess Zelda as the main character who fights, then what is Link going to do?

So I guess this is acknowledgement that Zelda doesn't do shit. Why can't both of them fight?

Hm, it's just not blowing me away. It feels basic and it feels like there's a lack of energy and intensity to the game. Just seems too chilled out. Would have liked the battles to have more intense and energetic battle music. Also the item jingle is getting a bit annoying and the enemies don't feel very threatening. It all seems a bit pleasant. The best thing so far though is the British voice acting.

i mean, this is the very outset of the game. I'm gonna imagine you'll have more dramatic areas to explore, and obviously the dungeons should be significantly more meaty than the open world

I can't believe how huge that map was...but now I wanna see some quests. Running arounf in a beautiful world is boring if you don't have any reason to do it.

Btw guys, watch the HD trailer for the game on your tv...the game looks 10 times better then.

yes the battle system doesn't seem to have changed too much... But it's just the beginning og the game, you can't have big monsters right at the spawn zone.

I'm sure Nintendo is used to this by now. I think they even said something about the Zelda cycle.

Amiibo details: Nintendo announced a new series of amiibo figures specific to the game that includes Link with a bow (“Archer”), Link on horseback (“Rider”), and a “Guardian” that is the first amiibo with flexible parts. The existing Wolf Link amiibo works with the game as well: When players tap a Wolf Link amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller, Wolf Link will attack enemies on his own and help players to hunt. He has three hearts, unless players carry over save data from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link disappears when his hearts run out.

What the... Is that legit!! @-@

Not to be a downer but the game looks dated. Still it will be really good game I'm sure.

Yeah it really does, but then again it's running on hardware that is closer to the PS3/XB360 than the PS4/XBO. I wonder how much better they'll make it look on the NX.

Okay, I really, really love what I've seen so far, it's amazing.

I really want to see a village and a dungeon. Hope they will show that

Definitely needs some work. I find the little jingle thing annoying too.

I mean that's a valid perspective. The game has always been about Link as the Hero of Time.
If they want to make a game where Zelda is the hero, it should be its own thing.

Just don't make it like the CDI games

I normally don't give a shit about Zelda, but this looks really fun, weapon durability and all.

I can see why some of the regular fans would be iffy on some of the stuff shown, but I'm digging it.

each in game minute seems to equal 5 seconds
this would imply that a full in-game day = ~2 hours

/random

edit: i missed that it was jumping 5 minutes. oh well.

I'm not just talking about big monsters, but how the battles are just a bit underwhelming. There's no intensity because there's a lack of intense music.

Wonder if these 'Shrines' the rumored mini-dungeons

edit: yep, they just confirmed it.

Wonder if that indirectly confirms the 4 major dungeon rumor too
