How old are you? May be a generation thing. Many of us here now discussing this are in our mid to late 30s and have a different view of things when we vividly remember experiences and feelings, er, felt when the NES first showed up on the scene.

I have nothing positive to say about Nintendo today, personally.

I don't have anything really bad to say about them, I have owned every system and have not deserted my WiiU.
But I kind of feel sad watching them.
A Zelda game that may put Last Guardian to the challenge by the time it comes out, and two Pokemon games.
It is like watching the old dog that you have had since you were a kid stumbling around barely aware of where it is.

I just want to see a glimmer of fire from Nintendo's eyes and it is just not there.

I was very close to committing to collecting Amiibos when they were first coming out. My decision to not do so is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

The rest of my 2016:

Dragon Quest VII 3DS
Dragon Quest VIII 3DS
Dragon Quest Builders
Final Fantasy XV
The Last Guardian
South Park: FBW

You might say I'm a Dragon Quest fan.

Plus stuff from last year/earlier this year that I'm waiting on price drops/Definitive Editions for (i.e: Mortal Kombat, Arkham Knight, Doom)

Truth. People actually complained about the lack of the support the system was getting back then. Look at the Wii U. That's what a lack of support looks like. Gamecube was fantastic.

The rest of my year is Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Zero Time Dilmma, Monster Hunter Generations, DQ VII/VIII, SMT IV Apocalypse, Pokemon Sun/Moon and a couple of smaller titles.

I was thinking that as I tried NBA 2K16. I'm tired of all this slow paced realism. I'm ready for some arcadey sports fun.

For sure. There's been a lot of games that are realistic to a fault. 2k16 is one of them.

Speaking of NBA 2K, any of you guys read "All is Lost: In the Series Finale of NBA Y2K, We Bear Witness to the Slow, Miserable Death of Basketball"?

I created 80 players and...[t]hese players are designed as pitifully as NBA 2K14 would allow: 5'3, 145 pounds, and awful at every basketball skill: shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, awareness, everything.

I put all these players in a "draft class" file. This is the file from which the game pulls all its potential NBA Draft selections in its franchise mode. Each team will have nothing but horrible players to choose from.

If the 2000 NBA Draft is any indication, a single bad draft can barely put a dent in the league, let alone kill it. So that is why, year after year, I'm feeding the NBA the same draft class file. Nothing but short, talentless weaklings, for years. And years. And years, until they are all that's left.

This is how the NBA you love was destroyed.

I remember laughing a lot at work while reading this a couple years ago...

I'm not sure how I feel about Playstation VR. I got a free Samsung VR headset with my Galaxy S7 and I hardly play with it. I want to like VR, but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

He was created entirely so Wario would have a doubles partner in Mario Tennis. He's never appeared in a mainline Mario title. FLUDD is a better and more relevant Mario character than Waluigi.
Fuck that, he looks so good man it's ridiculous they didn't use him.

The running storyline of Obama still being President was killing me.

In 2018, the year after his second term ended, Barack Obama remains the President of the United States. He has clearly abolished Constitutional term limits, and God knows what else with it.

Anthony Davis leads the Nuggets to another NBA title. At the White House, the same President is there to greet them. Barack Obama has now been President for 19 years.

Davis retires at season's end, joining Noel in the Hall of Fame. When the Bobcats pay their White House visit, President Obama is still there to greet them. His term as Commander-in-Chief has outlasted the careers of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, and every other basketball player who ever mattered.

The NBA is a corpse, but Obama orders it to dance. The President-for-Life decrees that the league shall continue.

All is lost.

He serves zero purpose. If you want a bad guy in the Mario universe, you have Bowser. Waluigi is like the Road Dogg of Mario. Over because everyone is over, but he has no business even existing. That mouse with the sunglasses in Mario 2 is better, and I don't even know his name.

Honestly, I don't give a rats ass about Mario lol. The most recent game I played was double dash.

Yup I'm in my thirties as well and have nothing but good vibes from Nintendo. I got sick of all the ultraviolence shit when I was a kid though so the last decade was pretty rough for non Nintendo systems. One good benefit of the indie movement.

I thought Raw was pretty okay, but Meltzer thought it was catastrophic and I don't get it.

Byron Saxton is amazing in that he isn't good at anything.

He has nothing positive or anything going for him yet he gets to call wrestlemania.

He has to have some kind of dirt, like Vince sent him a racist email or something.

If Vince saw Lebron James he probably would think he works in catering.

He probably can't name a single athlete today that isn't Ronda or Brock.

Not a guy Lebron's size. He'd try to hire him immediately. Promise him the IC title at least.
