Well, fuck me.
That nordschleife replay looked nuts.
Exactly what I expected from a current gen GT and..basically a different game compared to last month ? How does that work ?
The throne is GT's again.

GT Planet seems to confirm that Campaign is just sort of license / tutorial events and GT Sport has no traditional career mode.

That's a shame because the game just went from day 1 to no buy in an instant.

Definitely not a fan of MP.

I'm in the same boat.

Thirded. You can make the game as pretty as you want, but stripping it of the main GT element? No thanks.

what is trials? I mean, I just want to race agains the AI and win first place and earn credits. That’s a campaign for me...

How can 117 events be tutorials and license test? That makes no sense?

I guess he wants to make you a better driver,

I feel since Kaz went down the real racing driver route the games have suffered. If he wants to be a racing driver or be in Motorsport then please leave GT games to someone else.

All i want is another game like GT4, which is before he started racing in Nurburgring and doing GT Academy etc.

Spells it out in those images.

10 tutorial and basic training events, 35 time-trial events, 62 driving challenge events, 10 training events/videos on race etiquette.

Still interested to see how credits come into play, and whether you need them or can earn them outside of the online competitive play.

I don’t believe it...seriously, some of these trails have to be your racing against AI, there’s but so many driving techniques Kaz can teach me right? lol...well, maybe that’s not accurate.

But what do you need license for it there aren’t a ton of racing events? Or are the racing events always going to be online? I’m confused, I hope it turns out well. Everything seems to be coming along, but I really need SP stuff, I’m too scared to go online lol...

Tks @NullPointer, i’ll take a look...

This is what the Campaign mode includes:

Beginner’s School
From basic skills such as hitting the brakes and how to turn into a corner, fundamentals can be learned from the bottom up, which will prove invaluable for newcomers to driving games.

Mission Challenge
As you work your way through short missions, you will automatically pick up fundamental driving skills without even realising it. In the end, you will have a level of skill that will allow you to participate in major race events.

Circuit Experience
Through actual experience on a race track, you will step into the true world of high-performance driving. Use the knowledge of track layouts learned in the mission challenges to pick up the basics of how to conquer a race track.

Race Etiquette
In online, as well as real races, etiquette on the track is as important as performance. Learn the rules of etiquette and sportsmanship that’s required in all player-vs-player races. Even if you’re not a top driver with lots of confidence in your skills, you will still have plenty of fun because each player will be matched fairly with people of their own level for fair and equal online racing.

So no traditional GT events like "Sunday Cup" will be playable offline. I can see them being a part of the online "Sport" mode though. There was a photo from Kaz's London presentation showing a Project CARS-like race calendar with events on it, so that could be something. Imagine having to the do the Sunday Cup on actual Sundays!

Also not sure if this was posted, but PD put up links to the E3 assets on their news page. Appears to be 1080/60 video of Northen Isle Speedway gameplay and a replay of the Nordschleife.

Just played it at e3. The demo was just an oval which is fucking stupid. Apparently the guys running the area said they'd switch to another track in a few hours.

Graphics: Game looks really good. AA solution can use some work, can definitely see jaggies in the third person view. The game runs really smooth though.

Gameplay: Played manual with no brake assist with the RS01 and it handled like a dream. Very responsive and layered physics engine, far better than previous GTs. Collisions is still God awful, especially playing it against others in their simulated online environment. Needs major work in that area.

Sounds: Better but still needs a ton of work. GT still in last place with this part of the game.

Overall: Experience was pretty tame, albeit a bit boring cuz of the track. Game feels pretty muted overall because it lacks the dynamic sounds and paint trading you usually see in motorsports.

ahhh ok...Still a lot to do, but definitely getting your ready to go online. I don’t mind racing against others, but unless I feel confident at the end of the career mode, I’ll still need PD to update the game with new races against AI.

So i’ll do career and Arcade, and see if the game updates, I just want to relax and drive man, not really wanting to be competitive with GT, although, maybe Kaz’s tools will actually be good who knows.

Tks again! This clarifies everything.

If Damage is in, this it’s a day one...

Sounds promising...I’m personally waiting for damage to be in, but won’t they disable this for MP mode?

This is why I want some SP races PD! come on! At least tell us you’re going to turn this into GT7 eventually with updates, and I’ll be there day one.

Maybe there was some truth to this whole "daily updates" thing we heard back at the unveiling event because I can't fathom how they've managed this after what we've seen back in May.

In the PS underground stream they said that sound is much better from the one from E3 build.

I've been hearing this bullshit since GT2 mate. I adore GT.. It was one the reasons to know it was time to get a Playstation, GT's arrival. At 33 years old, I do feel lame complaining about sound in GT still, but fuck it, I'm a gamer.. lol. Come on PD!

On the "no real SP"-thing:
I want to give PD the benefit of the doubt. If it's their vision that if everyone races online against other humans will be more fun for everyone if the playerbase is big and diverse enough(and not only the top 3% will race online)... Maybe they are right. I usually don't race online, but I can see it being the most fun I ever had in racing game, working on my safety rating and making my way up and down through the leagues... I could also see it beong a complete failure on every level, if they don't get it right, but I want to try their vision. If they'd add a good SP campaign, the onine part would be just as always, filled just with people who are being silly assholes or super good at the game(or at knowing how to exploit the games shortcomings).

When it’s all said and done, I’ve pre-ordered the game, it looks amazing! I will try out Kaz’s vision. Just saying, I’m apprehensive about it. Part of GT is the progression you get from completing events, what’s going to replace that?

That and Damage are my last two reserves for the game. I’m very very optimistic.

Good God at those Gifs above!

Sheesh...Improvement much?!
