Best controller ever, easily. It's hard for me to pay $80 for a controller that might be replaced next year though. I hope this is something they do from the start for now on so I don't have to buy a boring color scheme they decide on.

Microsoft. Now you listen to me.

This should be possible with the consoles themselves. The cables, the headset, the power supply, the machine, the HDD bay.

Make it happen with Scorpio. It would be brilliant. Look at the creativity. I want half of all these amazing controllers. The Dreamcast one...

*cries*

I'm going to second, third, forth and hard fifth this right in the behind.

Please Phil. You are sitting on a mother flipping gold mine.

Holy crap what am I saying?!?! I recently switched to PC and have a 1080 on the way. I legit forgot about that after reading this comment and started frothing.

Triple check your laser engraving before clicking purchase! How bad would it be if you misspell your name/tag and get a $90 controller that has your name spelled wrong, lol.

Would be nothing short of amazing if MS did this, but the logistics and manufacturability would be a nightmare, which means it would not be inexpensive.

This is one of the things that drew my wife towards a second-generation Moto X. It's not really for me, but she's already eyeing 'em. LOL

You'll need to get a wireless dongle, but yeah.

or USB I imagine

I thought the point of these controllers is that they also have Bluetooth in them therefore no need to buy anything extra.

On the sit it says.

Features and specifications
For Xbox One and Windows 7/8.1/10, Up to 40 foot range with Xbox One S, Features Bluetooth® for easy wireless gaming on Windows 10 devices, Remap buttons through the Xbox Accessories app ,Compatible with Xbox One Play & Charge Kit, Chat Headset, Stereo Headset, Chatpad and more,Includes 3.5mm stereo headset jack and (2) AA batteries.Textured grip for more control

This and the new X1S is so tempting. I could trade in my day 1 Xbox and get this slim and trade in my second controller and get this custom controller

But it's so unnecessary...hmm

You are correct, no need for anything else

I thought most modern day PCs, especially gaming PCs, have Bluetooth in them? Even my Lenovo laptop has bluetooth.

For the most part, if you built the computer yourself, it won't have bluetooth. That said, bluetooth dongles are dirt cheap anyways so it's not that big of an issue.

Would've been awesome if they allowed you to change the color of the Xbox button:

You inspired me for the perfect 4-player retro setup. These 4 would be for the fallen consoles of my youth. Let's call your controller Player 1. Let me introduce you to:

...and Player 4 (least happy with this one)

Why aren't they offering this for the Xbox Elite controllers?

Must be because the elite isn't built by the same company, or uses different technology. From the FAQ :
Can I customize an Xbox One Elite or Xbox 360 controller?

Customized Xbox Elite Wireless Controllers are not available through Xbox Design Lab at this time. We are working with our partners at Scuf Gaming on future customization options for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller.

I really wish that service was available for Europe, I'd be ready to pay the asked price for a customized controller, but probably not additional shipping cost from the US.

From Ars

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Design Lab and its customised Xbox controllers aren't coming to the UK or Europe until 2017 at the earliest. Pricing is unconfirmed, but will probably be about £60 when it launches in the UK.

Tier 2 again :(

This thread is not safe for my wallet. Also really intrigued by the potential Elite customization option(s) in the future.
