Well, no. My question was about The Mercenaries United being added to the PC version.

Forgive me if this has been brought up already, but where is this on the PS store? I'd really like to get it downloading now...
Yeah this is really annoying. I was hoping to wake up to some mercs goodness but Sony rejects me. I thought this would go up at 12AM. Looks like 5pm est at the earliest knowing how sony updates their shitty store -.-
Its times like this that I really hate Sony's online/store setup.

Pre-order/pre-load was not available on PSN.
It'll become available today, Tuesday, when the PSN Store updates.
Perf-wise, both XB1 and PS4 perform very similar to each other. They have variable framerate but capped at 60fps. 1080p native resolution on both.
FPS will fluctuate sometimes in RE5 (45-60fps) especially in busy areas and lots of enemies, but game speed/responsiveness should feel consistent regardless of frame rate variance. You may have seen some YouTube footages already, but the game runs at 60fps in most areas.
The opening movie before you take control of Chris for the first time is pre-rendered at 720p/30fps. That's the source footage and that's how it was originally created. PC version is also the same.
All other cutscenes are real-time rendered.
That kinda sucks...just played through RE6 on PS4and never noticed a dip below 60. Was hoping RE5 on PS4 would be the same but then again RE5 is a better looking game I think.
Surprised people are arguing that 5 is as horror as 4, or rather 4 is no more horror than 5 due to its action. 5 lost the horror factor when it set most of the game in daylight and always had a partner for banter, co-op, and always helping watch your back.
I love 5, but 4 was masterful with the isolated atmosphere compared to 5. 5 is more action because it's just not that startling when you always have a buddy and it's often daylight.
There's a line that I draw that RE5 steps over to become more action title than survival horror, but that RE4 steps right up against but doesn't cross. RE4 you still get the feeling of being alone, underpowered, and disadvantaged. RE5 you're bad ass from the start.
And the inventory balances out in RE4 because you don't have a partner who can revive you infinitely and who is just as well equipped as you. In 4 you have a partner who is helpless, or you're alone, so the resources are balanced for that and so there's more tension.
WTF physical release is 12 July....this is bulls****... I was so happy to play tonight, this is a bummer..

Yup the rose colored glasses are strong with RE4. Like its still a perfectly fine game and is very fun but people prop it up more than it should be.The daylight argument is a poor one, since it implies the ability to clearly see what is around you diminishes the horror, yet in no RE game ever has visibility ever been a probem, you can see clear as day in all of them, even those set at night or in supposedly gloomy mansion basements, or in caves (except that bit in RE5 where need a lamp for a bit of irony).
RE5 definitely balanced resource supply better than RE4, resources are much rarer and the limited inventory of RE5 beats RE4s hands down. RE4 you could be a walking arsenal with 5 guns, ammo for them all, nades of every type and loads of healiing items. In RE5 if you got 5 guns you cannot even hold 1 spare bullet for each of them, let alone anything else. Plus it all real time, no stopping the game world to pick up items or manage inventory and use heals etc.
Lack of resources and real time inventory is far better for building tension in action games.
So underpowered...

RE4 has much more low visibility scenarios. The whole night time and rain in the village made it dark around Leon. The sewers and labs. Plus it all just had that haunted looking setting in general. 5 was action movie settings all the way, while 4 was quite frequently in aging locales at night. I love 5 but let's not pretend this consensus is new. Reviews upon release noted the setting to be less stylistically dark and horror themed despite praising some enemies for being gruesome. The daylight argument is a poor one, since it implies the ability to clearly see what is around you diminishes the horror, yet in no RE game ever has visibility ever been a probem, you can see clear as day in all of them, even those set at night or in supposedly gloomy mansion basements, or in caves (except that bit in RE5 where need a lamp for a bit of irony).

Darkness isn't scary for lack of visibility, it's scary because of the atmosphere it creates. Wandering around the village at night in RE4 is way scarier than when you're there during the day.

I do like the realtime inventory in 5 though.
RE4 isn't actually dark though, no RE is. So the argument about daytime/nightime is meaningless. RE3 has daytime and nightime hours, the environments looks almost identical.
Also the inventories do not balance out, it would take 4 RE5 characters to carry what Leon is carrying.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your first point. RE4's village feels totally different at night, and RE3 is set only at night.
No OT for RE5?
Anybody up for coop on PS4?
Visibility doesn't change in RE4, so the time of day change is meaningless.
RE3 starts during the daytime.

I've been playing the game this morning and Mercenaries United and Versus are unlocked without beating the campaign under Bonus Content, the DLC single player episodes aren't.
Has this got split screen on ps4?
Huh? Do you think night only makes a difference if things are pitch black? The level clearly looks different at night...because it's night. And that's further augmented by the scary ass music and the emergence of plagas which can only come out at night. It has a totally different vibe.
I definitely don't remember it ever being day time in RE3 though.
I forget that people get weird in these rerelease threads.
I like RE5 a lot, but there's nothing scary about it. RE4 isn't scary either, but there are creepy and unsettling sections that RE5 never even attempts to have. Most people outside of these Koolaid drinking type of threads would agree.

Atmosphere and aesthetic is a thing, and yes, visibility in RE4 is different at night and in rain versus day.
Sorry if this has already been asked but does Mercs United have a No Mercy mode? Also, can you play as the Mercs Reunion characters in Versus mode?
This is falseThe entire point to night time being 'scary' is the darkness cloaking the environment and hiding things, creating a fear of the unseen and unknown. That never at any point is part of RE4, it doesn't matter the setting, you can always see enemies with 100% clarity (aside from the invisible things, but that not a matter of darkness hiding them).
It's very difficult to notice since you're not running an on-screen fps counter. The game spends most of its time in the 60fps zone as some of the Let's Plays you'll find on YT will show. At the end of the day, it runs and plays well.
Mercs United does have a No Mercy mode. For me under Versus I only have Chris and Sheva unlocked, so can't help there, sorry.
