Xbox One Elite Controller for $119.99 on Amazon

I priced matched at a B&M Best Buy this morning because I'm impatient. Such a nice feeling controller.

Edit: wanted to get it there as well because they have a 2 year warranty for $19.99 and I've heard some suspect things about these breaking down.

I caved, but for the warehouse deals one for $101. I've had good luck with warehouse deals so F it!

Surely they are going to make an Elite with bluetooth right?

I'm sure it will get a redesign eventually but during E3 Phil gave an interview saying they are happy where the Elite controller is right now so no revision planned yet.

I've literally never heard quality complaints about these until this thread. Not saying they're wrong, but wtf? Anecdotally, I've used mine for hundreds of hours and it will works great.

I haven't had any issues so far with my Elite controller after about 6 months, but I will say that it's ridiculous that a controller this expensive only comes with a 90 day warranty.

Maybe in America but it has to be 12 months in the UK.

But yeah if it's 90 days in America that is absolutely bullshit.

America is a shitty place for consumers. It is known.

There's a guy that made compilation videos of defective PS4's and Xbox One's, and recently he made a video with defective elite controllers. Now any time someone mentions the elite controller on any forum, that video gets linked to try to convince people not to buy them.

If you have the money don't even think about it, just buy it! I've had it since 2 months after release and used it on Xbox and now on my PC and it's fantastic. Put countless amount of hours and never had any issues with reliability or durability.

I have a wireless Xbox one for my PC and I hardly use it because the controller loses its pair when I try to turn on the computer

I should just learn to use the steam controller instead

Is it possible to have PC audio come out through this thing's audio jack? For instance, if I wanted to use this controller on Steam games.

Have they fixed the quality issues, or do these things still break apart after six months?

It's not a bad price for sure, but the quality issues still remain unfortunately, at least in my experience. On my controller, the right arrow on the dpad stopped working after a few months.

Microsoft told me that I can buy another one for $150 after speaking with online chat and calling them about it since I'm beyond the 90 days of warranty it came with.

That's a little over dramatic. But yes the RB and LB are the same and prone to break just like the triggers in the DS4 I keep spare parts for both.

The newer controllers that will ship with the S model feel like the bumpers are different than the current ones.

It sucks that the warranty is only 90 days on both companies controller and they always break after that time it seems.

BUT the elite is still a fantastic controller otherwise. I've become quite the pro at working on both systems controllers. Bastards...

I'm selling my extra one in the NeoGAF buy/sell forum, if anyone wants to save even more money. My wife just doesn't like how it fits her hands, so no point keeping it. :-/

Mine got stick drift after 7 months, but it was worth every penny. I was smart enough to get a 2 year best buy warranty with my second one. Controller is so good I ain't even mad.

Besides some broken units here and there I don't think there are QC issues. Just some vocal gaffers posting the same picture on every Elite thread. Compared to the DS4 it's a tank.

On the price, yes, people will spend this much and more on a controller. How long has SCUF been in business again?

My elite is still going strong with no issues. Looks like the majority is in the positive camp on amazon as well.

Had the controller since launch, great feeling controller. I can't go back to the standard controller anymore when I play.

Pretty much.

It's the best controller ever made, but it's pricey and because of that there a lot of people who will shit on it. I wish Sony had something similar.

I got mine on sale for $100 and a free copy of Halo 5. I should have bought two of them.

So you can recapture the 360 feeling of having expensive hardware stop working after a few months.

This.
The elite controller has fucking terrible build quality.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Umm a $120 video games controller is considered a deal now?

Did I accidentally get time wraped to year 2076?

I've had mine since launch and the only issue I've had with it is the rubber on one of the short sticks is wearing a bit which is disappointing. I use it almost exclusively on PC and it's the best controller I've ever owned.

I didn't hear about the being quality issues until now but after having to crack open my N3DSXL twice for different parts breaking I'm sure that I can handle repairing one of these.

Mine as well as many others is perfect. What are you speaking of? The failure rate of most electronic hardware? Nah, you are a troll.

Every thread the same old shit; you either have substantial data or it's just concerned trolling.

Relax?

It was an honest question. Every time I want to buy one, a new thread or youtube vid of broken shoulder buttons and drifting sticks pop up. Hell, even Jeff and Dan from Giantbomb complained about theirs recently.

I really do want to get one though. Unfortunately, I live in Malaysia, so that means getting it shipped from the West. If these things break, it'll be hard to get them replaced.

Depends how often you play. Probably best to get added insurance.

Thanks! Wish I lived in the US or EU. Hope I won't be one of the unlucky few to get a lemon.

No, the opposite. You're still in the past when we didn't have premium controller options for people with jobs and money.

The Elite looks, feels and operates like a very expensive controller.
